momma... she may have been papering her ceiling but she wasn't carrying twins! She's a lightweight!

Now tell me her number and I'll [mitchell's voice] 'ave a word!

Long time - no posting!! but after a tough day I knew I would find a bit of support / understanding here.

My Dts are driving me to distraction with their antics - their favoutite trick is to use dd1s chair as a ladder to climb onto the dining table, inbetween they either love each other to bits or are pushing, hitting or biting each other! I assume this is normal behaviour for 18month olds! They are so different to dd1 that I feel like a completley inexperienced first time mum.

Harrogatemum · 29/07/2007 19:26

HI all!! Welcome back FG and long time no see JuA!

Just wanted to brag that I just ran 3.5 miles (AND HALF OF IT WAS UP HILL!).

So how come I am putting weight on? (she says with beer in hand......)

frumpygrumpy · 29/07/2007 19:54

HM, I feel your pain honey!!! Before the hols I ate well, exercised well, drank water by the tankard and weight stayed the same or rising. I wallowed like a pig in shit all holiday in food and drinks and put on only a couple of ounces. There is no incentive is there!!!

Momma, paper on the ceiling at 9mths pg.....ffs indeed. Next she'll be telling us she lay on 10ft internal scaffolding to paint a mural on the bathroom ceiling as she breastfed. You're having TWINS honeybunch. That is not double the pregnancy either, its so much more than that. Shove her in here, I'm in fighting spirit

MarsLady · 29/07/2007 20:23

JuA...............

Sigh............ when does it end????????????? I don't know. I'll ask Custy she has twin monsters... I mean children!

My pair are 3.5 and still driving me to distraction and making me feel like I have no authority.

Now where did I put that wine and the chocolate profiteroles? (No didn't make them.... didn't have the energy. Is it still only one week since the holidays started?)

Sigh......................

[I can see you you know HM............... are you coming to London before you sod off to Oz?]

Yeah, when does she abandon us for sunnier climes?

JuA, ditto Mars but with my saggy bosom! Mine are 3 tomorrow and I feel lately worse than ever before. I ditto the inexperienced mother bit too. Hang in there and stay a while in here, we'll mop your brow when it gets too much and remind you of the pregnancy breathing techniques

Remember, twins is so much more than two children. And, I guess triplets so much more than three.

Hi All - decided to go for a Golf Estate - a bit more room and the twin nipper will definitely fit. It is a company car and although I asked for an MPV as my renewal in Sept - they won't let me so I have to go for something kind of pratical (I can keep my car through my maternity leave), but we will have to buy an MPV also - means husband will have to sell his BMW convertible which he is not happy about - he has 2 kids from previous (12 and 15) so like transporting 4 adults - when the twins come along in November we will need all the space we can get! Thinking about getting a Citroen Grand Picasso - anyone got one - what are they like??

By the way - anyone know any good remedies for heartburn - been getting it a lot lately (now 23 weeks).

lotty - have a 'normal' picasso but would love the c4 picasso (grand one) if only it was 'a grand'

oooggs · 29/07/2007 21:37

hey mars know where you are coming from - ds1 is 3.6 and can be a nightmare - double it - no thanks so I know I will be in for trouble

menageriekeeper · 29/07/2007 21:42

Think 8 year old triplets - 2 boys who love to challenge authority, giggle when they're told off (until they're put on the stairs) and 1 young lady who thinks that she's in charge.

Couple that with a bass guitar mad teen who talks constantly about which bass guitar he's going to buy when he's rich and famous.

No wonder I drink.

inamuckingfuddle · 29/07/2007 21:44

oh god Mars and oooggs mine are 3.7 and really pushing me to the boundaries of my patience (not that far really ) we're taking them camping on thurs for 10 nights...

inamuckingfuddle · 29/07/2007 21:44

menageriekeeper, you're in good company on here [hic]

oooggs · 29/07/2007 21:46

muckyfuddle - going away will be fine, the fresh air will knock them out where you going?

menageriekeeper · 29/07/2007 22:58

Raises a glass of a rather cheeky red bordeaux

MarsLady · 30/07/2007 09:56

Would have replied earlier but the vat of Vodka made me pass out! lol

we're off to sunny weymouth and just to make it that bit more fun, DH has left it too late to book the dog into kennels, so she's coming too he's not in my good books at the moment

I may have to ensure I never sober up the entire time

MarsLady · 30/07/2007 11:13

That sounds like the sensible option.

Right......... need to take my brood (gulp) up to the shops for new shoes. I know.... I know.... Keep the voddie on ice please!

HI all - happy birthday to FG's DTs!!

Re oz - think it will be January 2008...maybe I will come to the MN Xmas meet up as a big goodbye!! IS there a plan for one yet or is it too early to talk about Christmas - ha ha!

inamuckingfuddle · 30/07/2007 15:31

oh good luck Mars, I have that pleasure to look forward to on our return...DH has now found a kennel with space so no dog camping - in fact dog camping I can deal with, but dog and DTs in the car for 400 miles I cannot contemplate!

HM will we finally manage to meet before you emigrate?

happy birthday to the frumplets

JuA · 30/07/2007 17:25

Happy Birthday FGs DTs!

Hope you survived the shoe shopping Mars- we ended up shoe shopping as well - wasn't too painful as we went to the Clarks factory shop and managed to get shoes for the Dts and trainers for dd1.

Had a better day today - probably because we were out of the house for most of it and dh was on hand to help all day.

Does anyone have any tips for selling a house when 3 preschoolers are living in it! We have to move cos of dhs job and we have found a house we like so need to sell this one fast.

Harrogatemum · 30/07/2007 19:39

dingdong - I do hope so - I'm still free Tuesdays and Fridays so let me know what your timings are like when you get back from your hols.

What happened to the multiples meet up by the way - did it happen?

GodzillasBumcheek · 30/07/2007 19:42

frumpygrumpy i have posted under 'HungarianHorntailsBumcheek' and 'SomethingIncrediblyWitty',but haven't posted much on this particular thread

I keep popping over to have a look as i have twins, but can't always think of anything to say!

inamuckingfuddle · 30/07/2007 19:46

I hope so too HM, not sure how much luck we'll have as I'll be full time from sept, but will still have school hols...

I got stung by a wasp today so am treating it with some medicinal sauvignon blanc I also had a friend round for lunch with her gorgeous 3mo baby girl, lots of cuddles and the DTs were very sweet with her talk some sense in to me someone

menageriekeeper · 30/07/2007 20:33

Just think of aforementioned sweet bundle at 3am screaming blue murder cos it's got colic, and then shitting all up its back, meaning you have to bath and change them at 3am, and then change their entire bed. Imagine whingeing and drooling due to teething, that just seems to go on forever...

That enough for you? Have I put you off yet?
