hi all - welcome lottie

love the nipper, but can't help on the car front

Bit confused by elsas' last post. Old lady came up to her and commented on the twins, but she is still in hospital/special care. What was old lady doing there anyway
I someone could help me out there? Elsa? Best friend?

frumpygrumpy · 28/07/2007 20:10

sorry all, did my toothpaste-cap-cold-nipples have an eye out???

I am returned from my month long beach bum paradise just a few hours. DP is on the takeaway run and I jumped on here as I missed you all desperately. Haven't read a thing to catch up but I see Triplets has left us for a while, byeeee hen!!!

It was not without its rollercoaster that is me and mine......but I did love it and feel (just for this very moment) very calm and relaxed and seeing the world through different eyes. How does one bottle that and snort it when the need arises?

Love to newbies and much love to auld faithfuls xxxxx.

p.s. On my return from so long away I see that I am living with sentimentalism much too much. I realise that with our two suitcases and one holdall we had everything our family of 5 needs. But still I am a sentimental old arse. How can I stop it? How can I chuck in the bin pieces of crap the children have made me, pictures DD1 produces (fine artwork, gorgeous to me but she does on average 3+ pictures daily!!!) The list is endless. I need and want to live lighter. Suggestions on a tapas plate please......

Sorry not to address anyones problems/questions/announcements etc, I really haven't read a thing to catch up with. YET

oooggs · 28/07/2007 20:41

Heya, Elsa?s friend still?sorry?you?ve still got to put up with me. I?m sorry I confused everyone with my last post? I have a bad habit of that (I tend to assume people know what I know?sigh) Anyway, Elsa?s kids are in special care, the old lady came up to her because she was a grandmother visiting one of the children on the ward?sorry. Elsa was particularly annoyed because they?re not meant to be disturbed?

I should also clarify what I mean by fine? I?m talking in relative terms, comparing them to other twin stories I?ve heard that have been born at 34 weeks.

Sorry for the confusion?I didn?t think you?d want all the details, but if you want to hear them please just ask.

Oh no! Not another Elsa! She thought she was having Braxton hicks and she had hers a few hours after...

Watch them closely, for becoming painful and frequent as I'm not a mother, I can't really help.

From what I've heard, (from Elsa twittering on)is that in the last few weeks of pregnancy many women do feel very uncomfortable, and symptoms such as those that you describe are not unusual and hard to tell from early labour www.babycenter.com/refcap/156.html - have a look at this site, it might have somthing useful, sorry I'm no more help.

frumpygrumpy · 29/07/2007 08:29

Momma, remind me, how many weeks are you? I had this occassionally but only very slightly. I sometimes got it when I had been over doing it.

inamuckingfuddle · 29/07/2007 09:01

welcome back FG we are having a joint midlife crisis, get out of the rat race, suburban treadmill hell thing at the mo so your comment about only really needing a couple of suitcases really struck a cord with me - we have a secret plan to sell up, move to spain and open a eco frindly field studies centre for english kids to come to - we'd offer spanish lessons, bushcraft (yes, DH fancies himself as Ray Mears ) and would bring the DTs up bilingual and happy - what d'you all think?

tkband3 · 29/07/2007 09:40

It sounds fantastic, inamuckingfuddle...of course you'll do good rates for multiple mummies so we can all come and stay as well .

Welcome back FG. I so understand how you feel about the clutter. I think we manage to live a fairly de-cluttered life, but I realised last week that trying to be too tidy had had an adverse effect...DD1 got so much Barbie stuff for her birthday it was just spilling over everywhere. So I reorganised the playroom and tidied everything into toyboxes/cupboards. Problem was everything was then too tidy so the girls couldn't find any of their toys and just ended up sat in front on the telly . We also have a huge cupboard in the dining room which is covered in all the girls' artwork, plus a whole cupboard full of the stuff which didn't make it onto the wall. I don't know why I keep everything, but I do know that the minute I move things around, DD1 notices and once spotted some of her stuff in the bin and got so upset I had to get it out again and stick it back up on the wall .

Mommalove, I certainly had some braxton hicks, but not that frequently - if you are at all concerned, definitely get yourself checked out...how many weeks are you now?

Happy sunday to everyone else - we're off swimming now, which will surely mean all 3 girls will be ill this time next week!

GodzillasBumcheek · 29/07/2007 09:49

Welcoming back fg
Congratulating Elsa

Momma!!!!!!!!!!!!!! You sit yourself down young lady and remember you're carrying two!!!!!! Take care of yourself angel. We want you to hold on to those babies for as long as you can. We want you to get to 33 weeks. (Then next week we'll want 34). But honey.. please don't overdo it. The longer they stay in the better for you all.

menageriekeeper · 29/07/2007 14:30

Mommalove, could you not cut back on your hours? That's a lot to be working with a twin pregnancy, me dear. You do need to listen to your body and then do what it tells you. I would get a lot of braxtons if I overdid things - by 30 weeks I'd get them just from walking 100 yards, but I was carrying three. Look after yourself xxx

inamuckingfuddle · 29/07/2007 15:13

international multiples meet up planning starts here

take it easy now mommalove [stern face] I over did it (moved house at 33 weeks and they arrived at 35, so you be careful now

inamuckingfuddle · 29/07/2007 15:14

I'm sitting outside in the sunshine with a nice glass of sauvignon blanc - who's joining me?

frumpygrumpy · 29/07/2007 17:32

hi dingdong! I'm joining you with a small, lemony gin and tonic. Weeelllll, one lives but only once and the day has a 'Y' in it

Can someone enlighten me, I don't wish to be rude but I don't think I've met GodzillasBumCheek before (maybe down some dark alley many years ago). Name change perhaps?

mommalove, you defo need to calm down a bit, that is far to much work. I could barely walk at 32 weeks, let alone work! Put your feet up a bit more.
And that drink is vile, I don't think I want to try pimms if that is what it tastes like! No drink for me neither, still on the bloody diet. BBQ is smoking though.

FG, welcome baaack! Have missed you!

lotty aren't those cars sort of fiesta sized? - no way it going in a fiesta.

madmumof5 · 29/07/2007 18:46
