Hi to you all,
A flying message literally, got 90 mins until the kids come home, off to US tomorrow for 4 weeks! Just be glad when I get there, feel exhausted atm. Mars, sorry not to have replied to your personal post, hardly been on here, husband hogging it! I never got to hear abour Bibi, no time to scroll thru. Anyway, all have a great summer, I hope the sun shines on you all. Keep safe and happy,
xxxxx

Harrogatemum · 25/07/2007 12:36

Hi all - yes I did get to Bristol eventually and had a nice weekend (what was left of it!) Thanks for all your messages!

Congrats to Elsa on her twins - very good weights for such early babies....

Egg · 25/07/2007 15:44

Sorry been away from this thread for aaaages. Need to catch up with everyone's news. Just to say had 12 week scan last week and both babies are fine .

Elsa, wow congrats! That's great news and lovely names. Have only just read your story so am very behind.

Also wanted to ask Oooggs and anyone else who has one, do you really really rate your Nipper? DO you have the one with swivel wheel? Not buying yet, but can't decide what to get. Have seen countless threads on best doubles, and had decided on Nipper but then heard it tips easily. Tried my friend's Mountain Buggy the other day and found it v heavy. Any advice?

menageriekeeper · 25/07/2007 16:37

Congratulations Elsa. Extremely good weights, especially considering you weren't showing much! Have to say, it's refreshing to find two young ladies who don't type in textspeak. I'm old and can't read it, so well done, both.

chopster · 25/07/2007 16:41

I've got a nipper. I love it! I don't have the swivel wheel and I think that it is so light that it really isn't necesary and I have 2 year old chubsters in there. I read that about them tipping too, and was worried, but I really don't know what htey are talking about, because I've had no problems. I knwo the other common complaint is that if you bu the extra under basket, it is difficult to fold with it on, but once you get the knack there is nothing to it. Meeley lvoes hers too.

congratualtions elsa, , very good weights indeed!

chopster · 25/07/2007 16:42

so busy raving, I forgot to say, glad to hear the babies are doing well, egg!

Meeely2 · 25/07/2007 16:46

nipper yes, really rate it, if i had my time over would have had one from birth.....very light have 2 x 2.8yo in it, doesn't tip, easy to steer, compfy seats upright AND lying down.....

get one get one get one

Egg · 25/07/2007 17:24

I am sold .

However, I was sold a few days ago, then went on a thread where they were raving about MBs and then I was wavering. Really don't want big heavy thing though, having had Jane Slalom Pro for DS when little.

Anyone know if you can attach a buggy board to nipper?

Seen a lovely brand new one on ebay in "camel" colour. Half the price of mountain buggy too, leaving money to spend on meeeeeeeeeeeeeee.

MarsLady · 25/07/2007 17:56

See you soon Triplets!!!!!!!!! We've had no news on bibi yet!

Hi all! Off to my OU now but will check in later! Been all the phone all day trying to get a school for my wee French girl! Love to you all.

Momma......... all will be well. There are tips a plenty here!

hi egg - I had jane powertrack for ds. Love my nipper and have used it from birth (obvious cos they are only 16 weeks [doh]) I would recommend the tiny traveller as a baby support to start with. I have a fixed wheel cos I wanted a handbrake (doesn't come with the swivel one) lots of hills down 'ere. I do have a basket underneath and once you know how folding is easy (agree with chopster). A buggyboard does fit it, lascal one I think, and I was getting one, but now glad I didn't as I don't think I would have been able to push it with heavyweight ds1 on it. My ds is much older than yours, so he has got used to walking, but in an emergency he sits on the hood and then it can tip . The raincover fits much better than my Jane one ever did. I can get it though my upvc front door.

DH wanted the powertwin, but I wasn't keen on dt's being in carseats for so long as we do alot of walking and the front seat isn't suitable from birth.

triplets have a fab time you deserve it.

Thanks for the info LG&T and Mars. I like the idea of them making their lunch (bit soon yet, but one day....). All my friends seem to be hyper-organised mothers of two neatly spaced children and its rare to come across people who have theirs close together and/or mostly boys. It all sounds quite similar to me really. Although I eat with the kids - there's no way I could wait till 9pm, I'd be starving!

Lovely names Elsa, and well done. Hope they are okay, that you are coping and that you're all home soon xxxx

Oh, and we're going to the showground at Wadebridge, oooggs. Is that near you?

oooggs · 26/07/2007 20:38

about 45min - 1hour away estar - going to be doing anything nice?

elsa07 · 26/07/2007 22:10

Hiya, Elsa?s friend again. Elsa?s healthy and happy with her little twins, (a little uncomfortable after the section, but that?s to be expected) she still seems a bit stunned that they?re actually hers and with her after 34 weeks and 3 days (a fact she tells me repeatedly when I say it was just 34 weeks). I don?t think she?s quite as stunned as her parents though! Poor them! They were told 6 days before they came!

She says thanks for all your well wishes, they made her smile when I told her about them. When I told her about mk?s comment, she laughed and said that it?s your short hand language that she doesn?t understand, what does dh, dd, and ds stand for?

Actually, it reminded me that on the day the twins came, when news got around, she received 87 texts! And she?s still getting them! And I don?t think she?ll ever get through the amount of emails she?s getting?

She got a bit annoyed today, because an obnoxious elderly lady came up to her today and crooned over the twins, (like they do, I?m sure all of you mothers have experienced this) while Elsa was trying to sooth them while they cried and said to her, ?You must be a wonderful daughter to your mother, helping her out with her new children?are they twins?? Elsa?s glare! She replied, ?They are twins, and they?re mine.? The woman?s face! Then she walked off muttering and shaking her head, ?Children today? not like they used to be?they?re in each others pants so fast?having children when they?re still children.? Elsa?s face looked like - - that!

Anyway, I just thought I?d come on to keep you updated. Elsa should be out of hospital soon?

lotty2 · 28/07/2007 17:20

Can any of you ladies help me?
I am expecting twins in November and have been looking at twin buggies with help from some of you - have more or less decided on a Nipper 360 twin, but the dimensions when folded are 770 x 360 x 900. I am about to change my car and was wondering if anyone knew if the nipper twin fit in the back of a golf or a seat Leon? Can't seem to get the boot dimensions for the car anywhere?
Hope someone can help me (grin)

menageriekeeper · 28/07/2007 17:51

Quiet here, innit. Lottie, can't help on the buggy front, I'm afraid. I'm way past buggies and prams.

Are Elsa's babies not in special care? She's very lucky if they're fine to be with her on the ward, considering they're 34 weekers.
