hi HM, sorry about today, weather is improving now - bit late though

frumpygrumpy · 22/06/2007 14:45

had my hair cut, have clips for my hair, collect outfit 4pm. I'm going to the ball. I will enjoy it with hindsight its just my nervous twitchy side that hates it in advance. Now, where do I get a big smile and a positive attitude?

Did you girls not get to meet up? You need a layby picnic

inamuckingfuddle · 22/06/2007 14:48

have fun FG, I'm sure you will be the belle of the ball (have a large glass of bubbly whilst getting ready, works every time!) remember to come on here later when you're tipsy

MarsLady · 22/06/2007 14:49

FG.......... you'll be gorgeous and everyone will fall in admiration at your feet.

Have a fantastic time my darling!

Kisses and hugs (but not so much I smudge your make-up)

frumpygrumpy · 22/06/2007 14:54

Thanks Mars. Can't have anyone falling at my feet - thats a whole new project!

What's everyone up to this weekend?

you can have him Mars - he has just rung and told me he is hardly going to see me for the next week as he is going to be so busy with work, boooooooooooooooo.

I of course said "what about les enfants???" Not that I was worried about them seeing their Daddy, more about having help to look after them.

MarsLady · 22/06/2007 18:41

Hey did you see? Did you see? I made the MN News Roundup! How cool is that? Someone called Bogstandard is not happy seeing Marslady's Lemon Drizzle cake. PMSL!!!!!!!!!!!!! Oh the fame! The glory!!!!! It won't go to my head though.

OP posts:
Harrogatemum · 22/06/2007 19:01

MarsLady · 22/06/2007 19:02

LOL, I still have yet to get around to making a ML LDC!

I woudl love to dress up and do something glamorous like go to a ball. Have a lovely time FG.

Had a lovely day today, a friend I haven't seen since I left the UK (about 6 years ago) happened to be in Zurich so we met up. She is really lovely, has similarities with my sisters and it felt as if I had just seen her yesterday. It makes me realise how I miss talking with easygoing laidback English girls with the whole focus not being on children (only had the dts so lots of cuddles but no mad toddlers running around).

frumpygrumpy · 22/06/2007 20:40

Mars, thats the thread I was meaning when I mentioned dropping an LDC . Its always interesting when someone feels they have to hide behind a name change for that! I mean, if you're gona hide, hide for something decently saucy and porn ridden

frumpygrumpy · 22/06/2007 20:41

HM, cheers! DP has gone for curry and I am left in charge of the bar. Happy days

Harrogatemum · 22/06/2007 20:51

Cheers FG!! Had two G&Ts and now on second glass of wine. Is it bad to drink on your own.........yikes!! DH has rung and is only just leaving Paris, he had dinner in a place called Hippopotamus FFS!!

I have had my ultimate fave, pasta with chicken, pesto and cream. DH hates it so I always have it when he isnt around. It has about 3000 calories in it, and have rounded off with two pieces of Toblerone.

Hic!!

devondoris · 22/06/2007 22:10

Hey honeys!!

Just a quick pop-in between jobs to say Hi and how are you all? Sounds like you're having fun and feeling chirpy and chipper! Which is good.

I've got today between jobs so I shall be gone again for another few weeks, but I'll beeee baaaaaacccckkk... Maybe in July. Got lots of curtains to make, and database to build, oooh, and forgot, children to look after! However, DD is in London with DH (hurrah) so I have time to be on PC. I've just ebayed loads of baby clothes, and the cleaners started today (no more bath rings) and my house is beginning to get less "equipmented" and life is better than it was. Which is also good.

Leo - thanks lots for your words back along. I did appreciate it.

The boys are hooj and DT1 is on the hoof already. He's fallen down the kitchen step on to the slate floor (!) twice now. Ooops. DT2 is hoojer and can only sit because he's too lardy to do anything else. I've stuck a pic of feeding time post-strawberries on my profile just in case anyone wanted to see!

Mars - are you possibly going to the salsa weekend in Somerset in December??

FG - have a fab time at the ball. It sounds wonderful!

Kisses all.

oooggs · 22/06/2007 22:29

hi Devondoris the dt's look great - won't be long and our two tripp trapps will look like that!!! goes so fast

accordiongirl · 22/06/2007 22:34

Hello everyone! I'm a new mummy on this block. My boy and girl twins are six months next week... Agree - I get the are they identical question all the time, but we get more questions about our pram than about the babies - it's like two halves of a trad silver-cross stuck together, pushmi-pullyu style, and I got it for thirty quid off a bloke on gumtree.com whose mother got it off a carboot sale in Kent... It says Jaimic on it - anyone else come across this?

Me too couldn't do simultaneous bfing - my deepest admiration to anyone that can. Wouldn't have minded so much if they'd sucked at the same pace...

Bit worried - we've an eccentric chinese millionairess coming to tea tomorrow - don't think she'd like lemon drizzle cake tho... My mum is bringing round meringues left over from granny's funeral. Is this too wierd?

Welcome accordiongirl! Goodmorning to anyone else who might be up at this unearthly hour! Here I am again, woke up at 3am, hot flush, racing heart, and tinnitus driving me nuts, tongue like the sahara, too much Banrock Station encore! Feel like going for a walk but had better not at this time of the day! Baked yesterday for the school fayre today, and guess what? Made amongst millions of other things a LDC!!Sorry Marsy, not your recipe, but actually mine!!! Will regret being up and on here at this time of the day as got a heavy day ahead, always the same. Have succumbed and taken one diazapam and sitting here hoping for that calming sleepy feeling to come....................90 mins later and as yet no sign! Might go and bake a few more cakies...........might not................might......might not. See the kind of mood Im in? Had a odd day yesterday, was actually feeling good, then went to the hairdressers and could feel one of my funny turns starting, you regulars will know all about my funny turns, came home on the bus and an elderly lady got off in front of me and fell and cracked her head on the pavement. Horrible noise as she fell. Rushed to her as did the driver, and could see it was a surface cut, she got so upset and wanted to go home, so ran to my friends just around the corner, took her home and called neighbour in who called docs. Anyway I phoned her last night and she sounded ok, but it really worried me, she was such a sweetie, 88 yrs old. Now got indigsetion, too much fish and chips and Banrock, Ill never learn. One of my boys is starring in his first performance today, they are doing a rendition of Cats, he has been soooooo looking forward to it, but came out of school yesterday in floods of tears as his beastly siblings had told all the class he was doing a dance show and wearing a pink tu tu! So I am seriously debating whether to take them to see it, if they so much as snigger he will boo and ruin it for everyone! If you are still arounf Frumpy have a fantastic time at the ball, I too am going to a ball next Sat! Have decided as the kids have the Mon off school to whip down to Cornwall for the w/end, although big holiday not far away feel in need of my best friend. Anway she tells me it is the big Camelford ball and insists on me going, dh not interested and refuses to go! So Cinders here is now worried about what to wear as the dress code is "over the top"! As its being held at the local camel farm, yes, truly, I wondered about going as a dromadary, as if I keep sitting here for hours slouched as I am I will have the hump nicely in place! Any ideas girls?

triplets · 23/06/2007 05:31
