As I write I can hear the sweet sound od dt2 footsteps on the wooden floorboards, OUT OF BED AGAIN!!!
Oh and my operatin was cancelled AGAIN.
Some lovely recipes being bandied around people, I must make a note of them.
Thanks for all the advice, we are still trying to implement some of them
I have enjoyed catching up with all your news.

Harrogatemum · 18/01/2007 21:16

aha I see....have fun with your wifely chores FG, thank god DH is not coming back tonight I dont have to get that washing out of the dryer that has been there for 2 days.......and since I dont DO ironing it will be crumple central. Oh well.

frumpygrumpy · 18/01/2007 21:27

I pay a man to collect ironing. Best pennies I have ever spent. It took me a while to get over it, as I am an obsessive about neat and tidy and jobs being done to my standard. Its not the job I do but I have grown to love and need it. It can be pricey but well worth it IMHO. Today I had craft/gluing hell (I can't even begin to explain but I'm sure you get the picture) with the DTs and a birthday card for DD1 when I could have been ironing.......lol

MarsLady · 18/01/2007 21:35

Well I didn't cook tea tonight. My niece made chicken korma. I came across town for work and made sure to pop in for my tea.

I'm just about to go off to salsa. Oh yeah!

Harrogatemum · 18/01/2007 21:39

(sshhh FG i pay someone else to do ironing too dont tell anyone)

quick wiggle of the hips for mars salsa style as am off to bed....

overrun, chin up my dts seem to have taken ok to their beds now with the odd blip here and there... there is light at the end of the tunnel.

Leoladyofleisure · 19/01/2007 08:30

HM, hope your nights are getting better and you manage to grab a bit of sleep during the day. Why do so many men fail to realise that being a sahm you are in your job 24 hours a day 7 days a week. When they get home from work whether tired or not it is a change from what they are doing all day and that is the important thing.

Mars, have you see the book The Curry Secret (not sure if Kelly would approve!), its great, making the base of the curry is quite time consuming but the rest is easy and you just can't go wrong.

I WANT SNOW!!! Apart from the fact that I want to take ds sledging and I love the snow its far too warm and the glaciers are melting at a record rate, and grey, dull windy weather (as we have now) is just not acceptable at any time!

Dinner out was great ! I had both a glass of champagne (although not Veuve) and a glass of red. The restaurant is one we used to go to quite often - pre-ds, it has fantastic views from a hill high looking over zurich. Unfortunately the food wasn't as good as it used to be but then again I am very picky.

Hospital yesterday was also very good, babies are still growing well, I am all healthy and babies are in good position for birth !!!! The doctor seems to be as thrilled as we are!
FG, we (or rather I) prefer not to know the sex of the babies, its like sneakily finding out what your presents are the day before christmas. However previous crap doctor told us they were ID, but this doctor won't say 100% as she didn't do the early scans herself and says that 2 placentas could possibly have joined together - although she says everything else indicates that they are ID. If we get different flavours it will really be a big surprise as I have really been trying to get my head around the idea of having ID twins.

Kelly1978 · 19/01/2007 09:30

Nope I don't think I do approve! You have to make it with the meat or whatever in it, otherwise it doesnt absorb the flavour!!! The idea is quite good though for when you are in a hurry I suppose. But Indian cooking is sooo easy really. Like I said to mars on the other thread if you buy the asian spice blends, it comes out totally authentic and it's incredibly quick and easy.

Kelly1978 · 19/01/2007 09:34

Wow, leo it sounds great. I can't imagine ID twins. I only once got mine mixed up and I felt awful about not knowing which was which and waiting for DP to come home and help me decide who was who. Now thankfully they look completely different, tho ppl still ask, are they identical? and I want to throttle them. You'll be able to smile smugly and say 'Yes!' I really admire your patience in not finding out, no waay I could have waited.

largeginandtonic · 19/01/2007 14:02

Hello all, hope you are all looking forward to the weekend. My dh is coming home and my parents are coming to stay! So i have been cleaning and baking, it's my mums birthday tomorrow. I made her

THIS

It will be the school run in a mo, poo. At least none tomorrow or sunday. I hate it, very unfriendly people at their school. I only have a couple who say hi to me. They are a cliquey bunch.

Hope you all have good weekends xxxx

Have just spent a very diverting half hour creating a profile for myself - what a lot of ways to waste time there are on here. Even put pics on
Do it, girls!

Harrogatemum · 19/01/2007 20:02

erm, lg&t, arent you a mother of 5? Where on earth do you find the time to bake a Bounty cake!!!??? It looks ace anyway......

Estar - I have done a profile as well, has anyone else on our multiples thread??

Just to build upon the Ugly Betty story from a bit further down the thread, the DTs and I went through Heat magazine again tonight looking for pictures of "Mummy" and "Daddy". Once again any pictures of Ugly Betty were accompanied by screams of "mummy, mummy, mummy" and a picture of Kelly Osbourne was greeted with the same (joy).

Upon trying to find pics of Daddy it was a picture of Michael Douglas that finally did it for them, ha ha ha ha ha, I laughed long and hard........

Harrogatemum · 19/01/2007 20:04

ooooh estar just looked at your pics, you look lovely (ps I am not a lezzer, ha ha)

frumpygrumpy · 19/01/2007 20:18

pmsl at HM and lezzer comment

estar · 19/01/2007 21:17

Hey Harrogatemum, that ain't nuthin

Harrogatemum · 19/01/2007 21:21

oooh estar, post some more!

Leoladyofleisure · 20/01/2007 09:31

I have to check out your proper indian recipe Kelly. We are a bit short on possibilities to buy indian spice mixes here unfortunately so I found the book useful to get the right mix of spices also wouldn't have known where to start cooking indian type food without it!

LG&T Happy Birthday to your mum! She must be very special, it seems that all people born on 20th January are (its actually my birthday today as well ).

Kelly, as soon as they have names I am going to get name bracelets made for them so no one (including me) can mix them up. I can imagine that id twins as babies quite often get mixed up and end up being the one they aren't.

Lovely pictures estar! I tried to put one of me up as well but it didn't work, will have to try again.

tkband3 · 20/01/2007 14:00

Leo, ours are id and I did wonder if we were going to be able to tell them apart. But their heads are completely different shapes - Edie's was all squashed in on the left side where she had been wedged in my pelvis for ages and she now has a birthmark there as well - so that is how we tell the difference. We have got them muddled on occasion, but not for long. It can be difficult to tell which is which in photos of them when they were very little.

Once they have hair though I think it'll be a bit more difficult .

One suggestion we were given to tell them apart when they were born was to put a dab of nail varnish on one of their fingernails - although how long that would last, I don't know. OH did suggest getting them tattooed, but we decided they could do that themselves when they're teenagers .

estar · 20/01/2007 20:48

Does anyone else hate Saturdays? I sooo want to wind down at the weekend but the kids have no idea and stil charge round at 100mph and want my constant attention. My house looks like a bomb went off in it. As dh is away, my bro invited us to his for the afternoon but its 50 mins away and while it was nice to have adult company, they spent most of the time trying to rearrange his CD collection and losing bits of the 1000 piece Beatles jigsaw he left out (he's single, bless him, he wasn't prepared). Then had one of those horrible journeys home where I drove several extra miles trying to find petrol so got home really late. dt1 feel asleep in the car so was v grumpy, dt2 walked in the house and peed all over the floor (accompanied by loose poo - ergh) while ds1 pulled all this clear shredded packing stuff out of a box so the living was covered in shiny bits of thread (as well as all the dressing up clothes and plastic food they had played with in the morning). Was very ungracious and made him tidy it all up himself before he could have any tea, then bundled them all into bed at 8.40pm, so huge chunk of evening gone too.
Phew.
Dh home in two days tho (been away for 3 weeks), can't wait
Anyway, hope you've all lovely days xx

estar · 20/01/2007 20:50

HAD - I mean hope you've all HAD lovely days (too tired for coherance)

estar · 20/01/2007 20:52

Oh, and happy birthday leolol

iiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii - that's 21 candles on the cake for you xx

devondoris · 20/01/2007 23:12

Hello! Well, night-night really. Just off to feed small boys who will now sleep through the night from now til 7.30 tomorrow. At least, they won't have a feed although they might wake and require someone to peer over the side of the cot for a minute while they grin inanely and coo. Gorgeous little pests!

Mars - I met Millymae (not sure how she spells her name) at a birthday party today and she said that you'd collared her on another thread to join us here. You never know where MNers will turn up! I was introduced to her and her boys last summer when I was still very scared of twins. Hopefully she'll be along soon.

Estar - please come to my house. I have so much washing at the moment and you've reminded me that I've got a load of nappies in the machine which I should have taken out before I came upstairs. (I'm supposed to be going to bed.) I've been reading one of my Christmas books instead.

Night!

MilaMae · 21/01/2007 07:41

DevonDoris managed to get all 3 into bed with no chundering-!!!!! Mighty suprised considering how much they packed away. Obviously we're all up at the crack of dawn now on an e number high, I hear the coffee machine calling!!!!!

MarsLady · 21/01/2007 11:35

Welcome MilaMae... how small this world is! lol

Happy Birthday for yesterday Leo!

I was on a St John's First Aid course yesterday. Then I took DD1 shopping... my but she's a young lady now. Then I went out to salsa.

Today I'm going to soak in the bath after lunch and practise my French. I'm hoping to start having a French conversation session with friends soon (and hopefully on a regular basis).

Kelly: have you gone back to your OU study? If not why not? Come on honey. We'll support each other. My literature course starts on the 3rd Feb... which doesn't help as I'm away in Blackpool that weekend doing.... you guessed it....Salsa.

Estar... lovely pics on your profile.

DD.... did they sleep? Is Harrogate anywhere near Blackpool? My geography is rubbish and I make no attempt to change sorry

Pixi... are you lurking babe? Hi! Sorry I haven't been to visit... I've got a rather overdue client atm and I'm waiting so that I'm free to visit you.

FG........ what you doing babe? Have you shaved those legs yet? I was just saying to Paolo this morning, as I threw him out of bed........... PMSL!

Overrun.... any joy with the sleepers?

TK.... hiya

Now about the meetup? FG are you listening???????????? I think we should pop it in the diary for early summer... before school breaks up. Does that give you enough time to have your panic attack, shave your legs, plait your underarm hair etc?

Right.... I really need to do some study whilst everyone is reasonably quiet... (famous last words)

Welcome all newcomers and to anyone I've missed off sorry Loving you all!

Harrogatemum · 21/01/2007 17:48

Mars - Blackpool about a two hour drive from the Gate! Are you coming to see me or do we have to wait for the meetup....??

Ooooh where will we have it, how exciting! (pick yourself up off the floor FG!)

Overrun · 21/01/2007 18:08

HI every one, Estar I so know what you mean about Saturdays, I look forward to the weekends, but its the same old same old.
Happy birthday Leo.
Mars - the dts still not sleeping through the night, but dare I say it, they are starting to settle earlier in the evenings, about 8.30 - 9ish. So we will get there in the end.
We are being very strict about returning them to their beds in the night, so hopefully that will pay off as well
