Kelly1978 · 13/03/2007 14:14

Oh wow! Congratulations. I didn't know you were trying.

Kelly1978 · 13/03/2007 14:14

Overrun · 13/03/2007 15:33

devondoris · 13/03/2007 17:18

Estar! Hurrah for you! That's fab! When's it due???

devondoris · 13/03/2007 17:19

Mars - thank you! They're so sparkly!!!

Overrun · 13/03/2007 17:20

My operation is going ahead tomorrow as far as I know, I have to stop eating and drinking at midnight, but I am staying at home tonight, so I am pleased about that.

dingdongjustforyoufg · 13/03/2007 18:50

wow congrats estar! And thanks for the tip - prob with dress is more the pattern than the lumps, it just makes me look huge

good luck with the op overrun, will be thinking of you tomorrow

estar · 13/03/2007 20:19

Thanx everyone - as for the 'were we trying' question, you may remember I was asking what people thought about having another one a few months ago, so it was something we were thinking about, but we actually came to the conclusion that it would be madness! We're moving house this summer, changing jobs and trying to set up a church so I thought it would be easier to leave it. But I still always imagined myself with four so maybe we were a little subconciously 'lax' with the contraception...........ehem...............

So yes, I am pleased, but have no idea how we're going to juggle it all!

Kelly1978 · 13/03/2007 20:25

isn't that always the way, estar! I'm really happy for you.

Is it my turn next? When do i get a new baby?

triplets · 13/03/2007 22:12

Congratulations Estar,
I just love babies and would have another one tomorrow if it wasnt for my great age! Friends at school think Im mad I think, I just love new born babes, and when I had three to coo over I couldnt have been happier! How are you all out there? I havent been on this thread for a while, busy busy busy persuading other half we need to move, I have seen the house I would like. So after listening to his negative views and taking no notice, we have an agent coming up tomorrow to do the business. We have lived here since 1979, my lovely Matthew was just 6 weeks old when we moved in, so I have lots of happy memories of my "other life". It will be 13 years this June since Matthew died, still hate typing those words, now I feel I can move on, because he will be with me where ever I am. Wish me luck girls!

triplets · 13/03/2007 23:02

Where are you all tonight? Oh well, I`ll go to bed and finish my book, night night xx

MarsLady · 14/03/2007 01:02

Luck and love triplets!

Congrats estar. Where are you starting the new church? Though of course you may not want to be too specific on this thread.

Loving you all... working really hard at the moment (but clearly not hard enough on my lit sigh........ I know I know......... I said I was over it)

throckenholt · 14/03/2007 07:59

estar - congratulations

overrun - good luck today

triplets - hope it all goes smoothly

doris - try breast feeding first, then do solids - I think milk is supposed to be their main food at first. I did one spoon one bowl - too much hassle swapping between two spoons.

It seems so long ago - sitting on the floor one child in a bouncy seat on each side spooning muxh into alternate mouths and then scraping up the mess afterwards

twinsnikki · 14/03/2007 08:24

Morning all

Having a bad time with my dd's sickness...knackered...dd1 has croup, every night she can't sleep for the coughing....walking around town at stupid times of night to help her...

Bags the size of rucksacks....

Nic
xx

throckenholt · 14/03/2007 08:56

yuck - croup is horrible. We do the whole propping up on pillows, karvol in a bowl of water, wet towel hanging in the room - sometimes it staves it off, others we spend an hour or two in the steamy bathroom in the middle of the night.

MarsLady · 14/03/2007 08:56

Morning nic! Here love have a cuppa and slice of lemon drizzle cake and a mountain of chocolate.

frumpygrumpy · 14/03/2007 12:12

triplets, that should read:

and you can....go forward with a lighter feeling. I got upset lately when I gave away my baby sling as it had so many memories for me. My mum reminded me that it was just a piece of cloth sitting in a cupboard and that the stories I had just recalled were the important bit. Matthew was born the same year my little brother was (Dec), my mum lost her beloved dad in the Jan of that year (age 55) and my brother arrived at the end. Its always been bittersweet for her that he never saw my brother but I think she feels he kind of sent him to her. Matthew will come with you on this move. Don't worry that he won't. He will. I'm very excited for you! New beginnings and I bet your children will be madly excited

frumpygrumpy · 14/03/2007 12:27

Oh, and nominations for our next thread title on a pair of stuck down pants please...........

You all know the necessary element

frumpygrumpy · 14/03/2007 12:39

Mars?

twinsnikki · 14/03/2007 12:42

Oh frumpygrumpy,

You really are a star!

What would I do without you and Marslady!

Loved the misplace love comment...made me smile . Me I have be trudging around the streets of Bromley at stupid hours of the night/morning, watching all the booze sodden teenagers wiggling their way home!

To date I have done the wet towel thing, steamed out our bathroom so much, everything is soaked in there, and done the walks...

How long did the Croup last for you and yours?

Nic
x

frumpygrumpy · 14/03/2007 14:39

My DT2 had it for about a week and a half so I guess he was lucky as I've heard some children have it on and off for ages. My DD1 had it but not too badly for about the same time. DT1 never. Its a horrid thing and you have my full sympathies. Why have you been trudging the streets? Are you a lady in blue? Or just like oggling drunk young men?

triplets · 14/03/2007 14:40

Thanks Frumpy,
Man came this morning and did the necessary, if you see what I mean! Feel strange, but excited, a new beginning would be wonderful, time to move out of the shadows, will keep you posted!

frumpygrumpy · 14/03/2007 14:42

Glad for you triplets x. I have no idea what you mean by "did the necessary" and expect a full blow by blow (ahem) description

Harrogatemum · 14/03/2007 15:25
