I guess it becomes the norm, through uni, then the young free and single lifestyle, starting work etc... I actually just really enjoy the taste of nice wine as much as anythin else...

Harrogatemum · 07/03/2007 21:41

yes, me too, wouldnt it be nice if you could get alcohol free wine that tasted as nice as wine does? I'm sure it must be possible........thing is, its also the hit it gives you!

Marscentio · 07/03/2007 23:08

My dream was very unlike Martin Luther King's lol

charleymouse · 08/03/2007 05:03

Morning ladies
Thanks for all your support, tis much appreciated. I'm not sure about letting DH in on this thread to keep you updated due to this pirate rasing it's head agin tee hee. So it is a good job I have I have a 12 hour pass. Came out last night at 7.30pm and have to be back by 7.30 am.

There is no interenet access at the hospital .

Am currently cursing having my tea so late last night that I have terrible indigestion/heartburn and am missing out on my own bed. Tossing and turning though since 2.45 and I thought it was not fair to keep DH up when he has to look after DD at the moment and I can sleep all day tomorrow. So I thought I would see how you were all getting on.

Babes being monitored 2x daily and seem fine, I have had another scan and the fuid has stayed the same so due another scan tomorrow oope make that today and if necessary I will have an amniotic fluid reduction. Basically I hintk they siphon some of if there is too much - not sure yet how risky this is will discuss with the consultant if he feels it is necessary.

Apparantly my iron levels are a bit low at 10.4 (doesn't sound to bad to me) so I have doubled up my spatone and am "declining my iron tablets" hospital food is already playing havoc with me so do not want to exacerbate things further SITMI.

Anyway thanks again for all your messages they really do make me feel better.
Cheers CM

throckenholt · 08/03/2007 07:43

HI Charley, glad things are going reasonably well - hope you get some sleep soon. I think the amnio reduction isn't too risky - when the babies are that big and you have lots of fluid it is probably much safer than an amniocentisis when the babies are much smaller, much less fluid and everything is closer together.

Have they said why they think there is so much fluid ?

Kelly1978 · 08/03/2007 09:20

good luck with your scan charleymouse,

What's an AFD?

I've got more good news, now we ahve a sort of dx ds1's teacher is applying for him to have occupational therapy at school, and it will only take a few weeks before it starts. SO he won't be on the waiting list for months.
Plus, I've been doing research, and apparently hypermobility can also cause excessive bruising, so at last we may have a medical explanation for why ds bruises so much. They've seen it happen, but all the blood tests came back clear, so they jsut blamed dp, but now we might at last have a real explanation!

my dt1 came home yesterday after a few days at aunts and he is picking up an indian accent! He sounds so cute.

throckenholt · 08/03/2007 09:56

that is great news about DS1 Kelly - you must feel you are finally getting somewhere.

Harrogatemum · 08/03/2007 10:41

AFD = Alcohol Free Day!!!!!!

Kelly1978 · 08/03/2007 10:49

Oh i seee, not sure I like the sound of that.

frumpygrumpy · 08/03/2007 11:02

alcohol free day. I'm letting that roll round my head........something i think i should aim for how much weight would a person lose if they dropped alcohol?

i have a dt on each knee and typing one handed
stretching far......hence dodgy spelling tec, its too hard to correct. just wanted to assure you all i'm not drunk

our kitchen/family floor is being ripped out today and had the workman chat of "oh its a bigger job than we thought, its gona cost......." blah blah blah

currently hiding out with the dts upstairs while my life comes undone ownstairs!!! the mess, the mess...... the contnts of kitchen/family and walk in cupboard are in the other rooms, mix with dts.....you get the picture. best not to start AFD today

Mars, I loved the dream story. my ex boyfriend (years ago when i was about 20) did that after he got hideously drunk one night. hence the EX bit.

frumpygrumpy · 08/03/2007 11:04

yes, i was in the bed [yuk]

1becomes3 · 08/03/2007 11:09

Just a quick update Oooggs is out of hospital and the mini oooggs are still on board, mind you it won't be long now for the both of us, so there will be 2 more lots of twin mummies crying into their cornflakes on here.
Make sure you start stocking up the bar
Bet you can't wait

Harrogatemum · 08/03/2007 11:25

well FG, I once gave it up for a month and lost half a stone so its definitely a good weight loss tool!

Leoladyofleisure · 08/03/2007 12:22

, from a sleepless zombie!

Heard anything from Cricket recently?

frumpygrumpy · 08/03/2007 17:10

Glad for Ooogs

Leo, are you getting any sleep? I remember these days so well. Sleep came in 20 minute bursts for me and I hardly knew which way was up. I flirted between maniac adrenalin induced energy or a slump. Hope you are ok.

My kitchen is a building site. These jobs are always more messy than you ever think. Tonight I have made a picnic area in my bedroom (telly in here and no space in our livingroom or dining room as thats where the entire contents of the kitchen are) and have carried up everything we need. Plates, bowls, drinks, large pot, serving spoons, gingerbread men. I have had to spread out two towels as I took bolognese out of the freezer (knowing I would have no access to cook much). Why oh why did I pick bolognese? Despite the towels, I have bolognese stains from little fingers all over the carpet. Normally I would be having kittens but in the light of everything else that is going on this week I'm just enjoying the madness of it and I've never liked this carpet much anyway. Looks better now

Whats everyone else been up to today?

frumpygrumpy · 08/03/2007 17:19

Have to say, all 3 have behaved impeccably That is not a word I can ever say I have used before about their behaviour when altogether

Lovely manners........mind you they are glued to the telly

Its quiet, tidy, and they are happy
Must eat in the bedroom more often

Kelly1978 · 08/03/2007 17:28

god that would send me up the wall fg, I admire your tolerance. I don't think I could ever have major work like that done without jetting off abroad and leaving them to it!
I've had a very boring day, seem to be constantly running around to appointments atm. Had to take poor dt1 to the gp, he has developed excema on his face. Tomo I'm off to the speech therapist with ds1. I want a holiday!

At least tomo we're going out. I've gotta decide what to wear. I'm debating about a black wrap around dress thing over smart jeans and an olive tshirt with mettalic ballet pumps.
I never normally wear jeans for an evening out, hence the debate. Or do I get out my sweater dress again with my boots? hmmmmm. I wore that sweater dress last time I went to that restaurant...I'm all indecisive!

The work is kind of driving me bonkers. I am like Monica from Friends. I CLEAN constantly

Kelly1978 · 08/03/2007 17:40

I'm monica too Everyone who kows me says how anal I am.

at the jeans. I'm actually rather chuffed, because the ones I'm intending to wear I bought about a year ago and promptly grew out of. The ADs are making me lose weight and they fit lovely now. I've two pairs of adorable boyfriend jeans taht just fall down now though I loved those jeans, I managed to buy the blue ones in a smaller size but not the black. I was debating about getting them taken in.

Kelly1978 · 08/03/2007 17:40

God I'm waffling

Can you tell I haven't spoken to another grown-up all day?

frumpygrumpy · 08/03/2007 17:45

We are twins Kelly If my workmen were half as gorgeous as HM's then I'd have been hanging round the kitchen in that negligee of Mars' giving them my chat.....

dingdongjustforyoufg · 08/03/2007 18:42

evening all, had a very busy day here. My ex-nanny visited this morning with her 6 wk old baby boy - ahhhh! The DTs were lovely with him, bless them - but no, they're not getting one of their own had to go shopping for my sis as she is childless therefore has no time for shopping due to demands of her horse took the DTs in search of hen night paraphenalia - they were pretty good really, once I'd explained it wasn't all for them got back to get tea ready and teach my GCSE girl while DH was still at work, DTs (left alone watching CBeebies) lovely again, what has got into them? then had spag bol for tea - my god FG you should see the state of my dining room now, I pity your bedroom back later...

largeginandtonic · 08/03/2007 19:11
