what are you grinning about Mars ?

I am feeling miserable - not much sleep last night - all 3 had nightmares - and I feel like I am trying to get a chest infection. Still the DT's are playing nicely at the moment and I don't think they have trashed upstairs yet.

Marscentio · 20/02/2007 15:03

Keep your eyes peeled. There have been arrivals! But I don't have permission to spill yet!

Marscentio · 20/02/2007 17:48

Baby Leos were born in the early hours of this morning.

All are well and happy. That's all I'm allowed to say.

We have new additions to our tribe!

CONGRATULATIONS LEO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

frumpygrumpy · 20/02/2007 18:08

OOOOh, no time to read through the thread update right now but yahoo!!!! Congrats Leo!!! Wonderful news, can't wait to hear from you xxxxx.

Marscentio · 20/02/2007 18:10

Finally someone took notice! lol

She's a very very happy bunny and the babes are feeding well.

Just off out. I'm sure she'll get hubby to post the full news, but her texts sound so lovely and bubbly and new mumish!

Kelly1978 · 20/02/2007 19:08

Oh Wow, congratulations leo! Get your bum ove here and tell us about it all.

Congratulations zephrycat. No advice I'm afraid, but there are other twins forums about, twinsclub might be worth a try and I'll ask around the other twin mums I know too.

I had a lovely weekend away. Meeely2's dts are little angels. Right, so whose up next for my weekend break - I could make a habit of this.
I saw a programn the other day where a couple were househunting in scotland, it looked soo beuatiful. Oh Fruuumpy?!

Harrogatemum · 20/02/2007 19:11

congrats Leo! Cant wait to hear the full story......

Kelly1978 · 20/02/2007 19:15

Oooh and I gotta share this recipe. It's dead easy so not much twin escaping potential but it is absolutely scrummy -

Raspberry and White Chocolate Tray bake

Ingredients

  • 375g pack ready-rolled shortcrust pastry
  • 500g mascarpone
  • 100g golden caster sugar
  • 100g ground almonds
  • 2 large eggs
  • 250g fresh raspberries
  • 100g white chocolate, roughly chopped

Heat oven to 160c/fan 140c/gas 4. roll out the pastry a little more on a floured surface and use to line a 30 x 20cm tin, or a Swiss roll tin. Line with greaseproof paper, fill with baking beans and cook for 10 mins. Take out the beans and paper, then return to the oven for a further 5 mins.

Whisk together the mascarpone, sugar, almonds and eggs until well blended. Fold in the raspberries and chocolate, then pour into the tin. Bake for 20-25 mins until just set and lightly golden. Turn off the oven, open the door and leave the tray bake to cool gradually. For the best results, chill for at least 1 hr before slicing

Then...tell the kids it's totally disgusting and hide in the kitchen for a further 30 mins scoffing it all with a few cups of tea.

Kelly1978 · 20/02/2007 19:16

btw, I didn't bother with baking sheets or beans.

Mars, are you dancing this evening? We have a local (ish) salsa starting up. I walked past the sign the other day and you popped into my head. Wish you were here

estar · 20/02/2007 20:54

Congratulations Leo!!!

So hope you manage to get some sleep and have a WONDERFUL time (and don't continuously cry for the first 24 hours like I did, thinking this was the beginning of the end of my life, because it WASN'T!)

I'd send some lemon drizzle your way if I could bake, (maybe some virtual Mr Kiplings will have to do).

Wow! I just sent Leo a message saying "are you ok" and lo and behold, here is the news we've been waiting for...HUGE congratulations! Am so excited for you and can't wait to hear the news on how it went and what you got! Am nearly in tears (well, I am allowed in my late stage of pregnancy!)
Fab news.

Now how can you wish I was there and keep bleating on about not wanting to meet up? Honey we know all about your super hairy legs, your travelling south norks etc. We refuse to meet up without you. So you are now responsible for the devastation caused in many multiple homes around the country. I don't know how I'm gonna console the DTs..... I'm just gonna [sob] have to do my [sob] best [sob]!!!!!!!!!!!!!

So you just carry on blithely going your own way [sob] and don't you worry about the rest of [sob] us!

throckenholt · 21/02/2007 08:24

ah - so that's what you were grinning about Mars

Well done Leo - you've cleared the first hurdle - now deep breath, head down - the next few weeks are going to be a blur

rosmerrin · 21/02/2007 17:11

Congratulations Leo - cant wait to hear all the gory details!

frumpygrumpy · 21/02/2007 19:07

Mars

LOL

PMSL

LM hairy AO

OMG. In 2 years I have never once seen Mars cry. Or complain. Or wail. Or be sad. Or...... sob.

Its not that I don't want to. I'll work on it. I promise.

frumpygrumpy · 21/02/2007 19:09

Oh and today.............

I had my first treatment.

IPL on the full legs and bikini!!!!!!

Within the year (or within 6 months if I'm lucky) I will have no hairs left from the waist down. Except those deemed necessary by the pubic brigade.

Did you all want to know?

estar · 21/02/2007 21:54

Yessssss!

(then if it's a disaster we know not to try it)

Harrogatemum · 21/02/2007 21:59

right FG, I have rumbled you.......you clearly live in "EDINBURGH", we have at least narrowed you down to a city, now all we have to do is head up there en masse and HUNT YOU DOWN.

Actually you are probably getting scared now as we keep hassling you - we just know that we would all get on!! I'm naturally shy you know, although you might not believe it from my online persona.

Anyhow - Edinburgh is my Dad's home town (hey I might have got it wrong, but you did say mega-expensive, right!!??) so I know it well-ish...and keep meaning to come back up to check out my family tree properly at teh Scottish records office but you know what its like......finding the time to do anything is impossible.

Having said that, been on a spa day with my Mum today - it was my pressie to her for her 60th so this morning ladies, might I impress you with the fact that I did 3 miles (running) on teh treadmill, 10 mins on the cross trainer, then the pool, steam room and jacuzzi followed by a manicure and pedicure.........heaven on a stick!!

Nuff about me.........wheres Leo adn that birth announcement??????????

Dave1978 · 22/02/2007 10:03

Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaarghhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!

Hmm that feels better! ss have sent me the info that want to send to exh. It feels like they are determined to goad him into getting in touch since he ignored the previous vague letter he was sent. I need a hug.

I am sooo sick of them. We are hoping by May it should be all over, as most of the core group are saying they should be off the reg, but doesn't look like they will let off us until the very last minute.

I had the playdate from hell last night, I'm now realising why dd has been so difficult lately. Her new friend is a little bugger. She seems to have food phobia, everything was 'I don't like that'. I made chocolate brownies for afters - what child doesn't like marshmallows fgs! Or raspberry and white chocolate traybake, or flapjacks... Mummy came to pick her up and she put on a sad face, I've had no pudding. She was absolutely horrible to dt1 and ds1 too, she isn't used to younger children at all. She was lucky dt2 is away, or I'd have set him on her!

But what do I do about it? I'm planning to invite someone different and hopefully better behaved next week, but dd seems quite attached to her. The girl is a lot stronger/more outspoken than dd, and I think dd is being easily led. I daren't say I don't like x, but I sort of hinted and said she wasn't very nice to your brothers was she. I knwo I can't choose her friends for her, and maybe I'm expecting too much but it's horrible to see, it really is.

Edinborough, hmm nice! And she has shaved for us.

Dave1978 · 22/02/2007 10:04

I can't spell!

Marscentio · 22/02/2007 10:08

Don't beat yourself up Kelly. Invite the other friend and see how it goes. We can't quite choose their friends for them, but we can choose who we invite into our homes. I hope you told madam's mother that you offered her a choice of puds that she didn't want.

Anyhoo... gotta get across town to see Pixi now.

throckenholt · 22/02/2007 10:15

Harrogatemum - you can do all your Scottish familyhistory online (much easier than English) - the web site is something like ScotlandsPeople. You have to pay a fee but all the records are online and are very detailed. (Wish I had Scottish family to research).

rosmerrin · 22/02/2007 10:39

Oh Kelly - x sounds like a real ratbag - I have not yet had the pleasure of entertaining on my sons behalf, I must admit I have been putting it off for as long as possible and they havent asked yet. Althought there is one little girl at pre-school who regularly tells me she is coming to my house tomorrow!

We are all still dying of flu here - been bed/house bound since Sunday - luckily the DTs have been at holiday club all week so DH & I have just had to manage DS3, the amazing human snot volcano. Did you know that a 22 month old boy can survive 5 days on breadsticks, milk, half a pot of yoghurt and 3 fishfingers. Well there you go - eat your heart out Annabelle Karmel.

Please send flu sympathy our way - seeing the doctor this afternoon.
