Afternoon, i made cheescake but only ate half...(v good) i may eat the other half tonight (v. bad)

Have been out to lunch was nice to escape the confines of the house for something other than the bloomin school run. Hooray it's friday!!!

How is everyone?

lapinrose · 12/01/2007 16:16

if you make sure you have a slice of lemon in the G&T then its 2 portions of fruit, plus a couple of ice cubes, which counts as part of your water intake for the day, its virtually a health drink

Overrun · 12/01/2007 16:19

FG, you are ever so slightly mad
Hurray its friday indeed, but where is our weekend? Tell me that, slightly less stressful because of dp/dh being around, but still bloody hard work
I am beyond reason with re to sleeping. But we are out tonight for my dads 60th, so our babysitter is really going to earn her money
We have had an offer on a 4 bed house accepted today, hurray, so watch this space, I am not going to relax until we have exchanged, and thats a long way ahead

Harrogatemum · 12/01/2007 16:20

HI LG&T and FG....yes FG, you have to use the other arm the following evening. and remember if you add a slice of lemon or lime to your gin you will infact be having two of your five a day. And wine is made from grapes, hurrah!!

I have been into town to get DD's passport photos taken - hilarious as they put a white tshirt behind her head in her buggy, but I must admit the end result is a lot better than the ones I took which would have been sent back immediately I am sure.

DTs are watching the Tweenies and the house looks like a bomb has hit it. But tonight its curry night, I am right back into my curry since the baby was born!

Mega mega windy here - nearly got blown over in town earlier!

Harrogatemum · 12/01/2007 16:22

oooh lapin - crossed posts - great minds think alike!

Hi Overrun - where is the house you are buying?

frumpygrumpy · 12/01/2007 16:27

, HM mentions curry and wind in the same post . Do enjoy and I'm so hoping the wind from Harrogate blows South . Its damn windy here too........but no curry.

Overrun, thank you for the compliment . I wish you a wonderful night, champagne anyone? To celebrate Overruns, dad's 60th.......Champagne is made in France = Tour de France = exercise.

There. I knew I could make a healthy connection!

largeginandtonic · 12/01/2007 16:33

LOL cheese in cheesecake is very good protein source, no?!

No curry here tonight either, not as much fun ordering on your own I may eat a bowl of spinach to make up for consuming an entire cheesecake in 2 days... Dh fault for being away, if he was here i would be sharing it...um....maybe

lapinrose · 12/01/2007 16:37

had to go and supervise DH bringing the girls back form a windy walk, apparently its too much for him to get them both through the same door

glass of bubbly for me please FG

HM we must be on the same wavelength tonight, the curry is simmering away as I type, cheat's version from an M&S jar, but still curry

Hope you get a bit of a rest this w/e overrun

LG&T I went out for lunch today too...at the kids section of the gym café, after we'd been swimming again and CBeebies was on in the corner, could have stayed all afternoon with a bottle of wine, but had to drive them home sadly

Kelly1978 · 12/01/2007 16:55

largegin take your spinach, add a tin of chickpeas, and some spices and make curry!
I'm doing toad in the hole and garlic mash today when I can be arsed to get up again. I scrubbed half the kitchen then collapsed onto the sofa. I'm going to have indian tomorrow though, but real indian from a gujurati place. Yum!
I eat far too much indian food, I get wind if I eat english food!!

Enjoy your night out overun. It's fri night so I might throw cauction to the wind and practice those exercises tonight, open and pour, open and pour. I'm worried about mixing alcohol with the prozac but hwo else am I going to get my 5 a day??

It's been an exhausting week. Poor ds1 could hardly keep his eyes open when I collected him from school today. dt2 will not leave his dressing alone so I I have to keep mopping up blood and redressing it for him. TGIF!!!

Have a good weekend everyone.

largeginandtonic · 12/01/2007 19:10

Sounds yum Kelly, i often attempt curry making but it never works out as nice as the lovely Indian down the road. Am up for lessons if you have time?

The swimming and lunch after sounds good, im always starving after swimming an feel like i have earned it

I may have a drink too, but what? Glass of wine or one of those mini bottles of beer from Sainsbury's

Have just cut the twins hair....with clippers. I was feeling generous so gave them a grade 4, im very mean in the summer and often go much shorter I worry about their cold heads in the winter, they are skin and bone despite the fact they eat more than th average Newfoundland There is no filling them up, they eat from the moment they get in to when they go to bed. I dread the weekends my cupboards are bare by sunday! Lord knows what i will do when i have 5 big boys to feed and dd who eats for britain already!!!!

dolly1972 · 12/01/2007 19:31

i have given only one of my boys a haircut so far...well ive done it three times actually! joshua's hair seems to grow at twice the rate of samuels - he still has the soft hair that he had from birth, hasnt changed atall just got a bit more of it! (not enough yet that warrants a cut)

dolly x

largeginandtonic · 12/01/2007 19:36

Spooky dolly, i have a jacob and a samuel....Jacob was almost Joshua! Am going to upload a piccie of them with their new hair cut, and ds #3 who will not be having a hair cut. DH thinks he looks like a girl. tell me what you think, will go and do it now.

Well after i have changed ds #4's nappy, yuk.

lapinrose · 12/01/2007 19:36

Dolly I think I know where they are, will go and check...

Harrogatemum · 12/01/2007 19:38

oooh yes FG, a glass of champers for me too please. DTs are in bed, but shouting "Daddy" plaintively. I sense that as they both had a couple of hours sleep this afternoon that they will shortly be opening the door and rattling the stair gate. Is it weird that I dread this when DH isnt around? As though I cannot cope with it on my own and cannot handle my own children........is it just me or does everyone feel like this?

lapinrose · 12/01/2007 19:43

HM I feel like that too, weird isn't it? I spend so much time with them on my own, but every so often when I know DH won't be there when he normally is, I get this panicky feeling and wonder how I'll cope with putting them to bed without him, there is no rational reason for this whatsoever!

dolly1972 · 12/01/2007 19:50

lg&t
it must be a man thing as my hubby says that my other 2 boys look like girls if their hair gets too long.
my eldest is nearly 9 and at the moment he wants long hair...dont know why??
i do threaten him sometimes with a haircut as when in the shower he always blimmin forgets to wash it!
let me know how to put the photos on here and i will put some of my monsters on

ta-ta for now dolly x

dolly1972 · 12/01/2007 19:51

lapinrose.......thanks hun.

largeginandtonic · 12/01/2007 20:22

largeginandtonic · 12/01/2007 20:25

Here are the newly chopped twins

here

devondoris · 13/01/2007 10:27

hello lovelies!

Just a quick drop in to say Hi; I've got two screamers downstairs and a 4th generation chatterbox upstairs, and we're all off to the butcher's in the rain.

BUT, back shortly and will catch up properly. Someone get the kettle on? I'll get some gingerbread from the baker's as I'm passing...

MarsLady · 13/01/2007 10:39

So much to read and no time.

Off to Tunbridge Wells for a 40th birthday... Silver, Sparkly, Salsa party.

Leaving everyone behind. Off very very soon and not back till lunchtime tomorrow....

Behave in my absence and don't forget to snare the stray multiple mums lol!

Mwah!

MarsLady · 13/01/2007 10:43

Oh no! I just read I'm gonna miss the bakery run.... sob!

See you all Sunday!

devondoris · 13/01/2007 14:05

Way-hey! I've managed to read the thread! But I can't find the old one to catch up on the last bits of it. We seem to be using up the thread remarkably quickly these days - isn't it great to have chatty friends?! Though not many of you around to share gingerbread with today.

You must try Montezuma chocolate if you can - it's made in Sussex and the green one which is a milk chocolate is to die for. Another good one is New Tree lavender and lime blossom - sounds weird but is heavenly... And I don't like chocolate! Fortunately we have these ones in the shop.

Talking of HM's wind I've had the most horrendously windy bottom since giving birth! Is it normal?? > Anything to do with bfing hormones?? Does that mean it'll last til I give up?? Will I still be married by then?

And best news of all - I'm going to salsa!!!! Hurray! Went to Jive on Thursday and decided that although it's good fun, it's not like salsa and I really ought to get back to the dancing I like. Have you ever seen me dancing - I mean really dancing?! YIp hip hip, hurray doodle day! And I even have a male friend to come too who likes salsa. I'm soooo happy. It's worth DH being home.

Anyway, on a slightly less selfish note, Overrun, I do hope things get better - I totally agree with FG about the sleeping thing and sticking at it to succeed. So worth doing, although it's hell getting there.

Pixi - that's such great news! I'm soooo pleased! If I may, I'll come and visit next time I'm in London. (I'll bring cake)

Right, I'm going in search of the old thread while I still have sleeping boys.
