Harrogatemum · 13/01/2007 16:02

Hi Doris - I'm here - I'll have a piece of gingerbread (although I am now onto the second layer of my Godiva Chocs.........they are HEAVEN ON EARTH).

DH has taken the DTs to soft play leaving me and the baby to do some bonding. she's asleep so I'm bonding with my laptop instead!

frumpygrumpy · 13/01/2007 17:27

I can't chat , my slip of time is gone! Aaaargh! xxx

lapinrose · 13/01/2007 18:13

Just a quick visit...

Dolly I have found the reins, will email you later

I'm having a stressful day - DT2 was sick in the night, so several changes of sheets and PJs later and wanting to sleep with me, me not sleeping as listening and watching for more sickness, I got 2 hrs broken sleep . Today I have achieved nothing other than doing several loads of washing, but not the washing I had intended to do today, so that will be tomorrow's pleasure. DT2 has been catching up on her sleep so probably will be a nightmare later, must find the wine and kettle chips to see me through

frumpygrumpy · 13/01/2007 18:25

dingdong, what a shame. Illness tips the delicate balance of 'managing' to hellIdon'tknowwheretoturnfirst in this house. Hopefully last night was the worst and tonight she will be more settled. I always let dd stay up late if she's had a day/night like that so that sheer exhaustion takes over for her and she/me are guaranteed some peacefull hours. I let her up maybe til 9pm ish (or later) and then try to get to bed at the same time. Good luck. Bet your washing machine is going like the clappers. Always makes me realise that normal weeks aren't that bad!

I love kettle chips and happen to have a bag open.....

largeginandtonic · 13/01/2007 19:06

Evening all, just posted for SKBF. I hope i made her feel a little better.

I hope too that she comes and joins us here soon. We are alovely bunch..

Im off to cook my tea, have put (sort of) all the kids to bed. Am very stressed and was just seconds ago screaming like a banshee. Im going to open a bottle of wine....very norty i know, but i figure the baby is being more damaged by having astressed mommy than one who's had a couple of glasses of Rose. Anyone else fancy one?

Overrun · 13/01/2007 19:27

Hi all, Lapinrose, sorry to hear about your lack of sleep, something I can identify with, mind you so can all the women on this thread
Really let my hair down last night, as a way of forgetting about hellish week. The result that I have been in bed most of the day with a terrible hangover. One way to avoid spending time with the children I suppose
HM, we are buying in Cariff, North Cardiff to be precise, you would be amazed at how expensive it is here all of a sudden...
The babysitter coped well, but dt1 still managed to stay up to nearly ten.

I think an early night is called for, so you probably wont see me on here again this evening.

Overrun · 13/01/2007 19:28

I mean Cardiff

devondoris · 13/01/2007 20:09

Woo-hoo! I'm going out for supper now! Hurray!

Laters, lovelies!

dolly1972 · 13/01/2007 20:09

lapinrose
thankyou v much...i will wait for your email.

dolly x

lapinrose · 13/01/2007 20:22

Interesting article in today's Guardian ( I managed to grab a few mins to read while DH supervised baths!) long distance families it made me think of several of you on here, FG, HM, LG&T

DT2 settled pretty quickly in the end, have demolished bottle of red, kettle chips and maltesers and am off to bed v soon, will email tomorrow dolly, with photo if I can be that organised

largeginandtonic · 13/01/2007 22:22

Thanx for the article lapinrose, very thought provoking. It's true that you just struggle through and feel life is on hold till they come home. Then you feel you have to put on this fake front so that the weekend goes smoothly, or in my case i get cross and start barrier building by sunday. Anything to make it less painful when he goes, it is rubbish.

With my ex i used to love him going away and look forward to it, it's only now with dh that i realise how crazy this was!

Am off to get a donut......

3pinter · 13/01/2007 22:48

hello! I'm a new mum of twins (coming up to 10 weeks old now) and have seen this thread referred to in other messages and thought I'd drop in to say hi. Haven't had a chance to read the whole thread (you ladies have been busy over the past few days! so don't know what you are all up too but though I'd come over and be sociable. On a random note, my HV said that I would be producing 3 pints of breast milk a day! reckon I can eat an awful lot of cake to make up my calorie quota!

largeginandtonic · 13/01/2007 22:56

at being allowed to eat all that cake 3pinter! How is it going? Glad you have come to join us, we are a friendly bunch, most of just post and dip in and out. Too hard to kepp up sometimes!

What flavours dd you have and how did it all go? I will pour you a glass of Rose Id offer you a donut but iv'e eaten them all... I am pregnant...not with twins though....did that 8 years ago >

3pinter · 13/01/2007 22:57

damn, trust me to pop in just before DT are due their dream feed. Will have to come back and meet you all tomorrow. Hope you manage to get more sleep than I did last night.

3pinter · 13/01/2007 22:59

ooh, just saw you message as I was about to log off and thought i'd write a quick reply before (yet another)feed is due. I had 2 boys, SOOOO lovely, I think they're fab (although at the mo they are still too small to move about. Might change my mind when they are careering round the house!) Thanks for the wine - they should sleep well tonight. Would love to hear more about you DT, and what it will be like having another one after having DT, hope to catch up with you all tomorrow.

largeginandtonic · 13/01/2007 23:02

It's easy 3pinter, Mars has had her 5th and im on my 6th!!! Boys are the best....sleep well xx

Harrogatemum · 14/01/2007 08:31

You will enjoy yourself on here we are all lots of fun and everyone has advice when you need it! Whereabouts in the country are you?

largeginandtonic · 14/01/2007 09:28

Morning HM, could i borrow dd for a hug? Im all broody and cross i have to wait (at least 17 weeks) for mine to come out.

Bowl of museli anyone? I know v healthy, but i did eat a donut and some foam banannas before i went to bed last night...the baby told me too...

Harrogatemum · 14/01/2007 10:39

Hi LG&T - of course you can have a cuddle with DD, you will blink and it ill be your due date, time goes so fast!!

I had muesli for breakfast too, only because DH said he didnt want a bacon sandwich (foiled again).

largeginandtonic · 14/01/2007 13:04

Refuse a bacon sandwich....madness HM! Thank you for my cuddle >

I quite like the name Beau for the LO, but cant think of a good name to go in the middle, i quite like Caspian too. Actually Caspian Beau sounds quite nice.. What do you think?

estar · 14/01/2007 14:28

Hi guys, thanks for the invite.

Here's a question that may spark some discussion...

I have 5 yo boy, 3.5 yo twin boys, and I have a secret hankering for a fourth...

Am I nuts? What's the general concensus for time scale between twins and the next one? Bear in mind that I had SPD both previous times!
