LG&T have a wonderful time tonight.

Kelly glad you got some pampering time in, you deserve it.
Meiko welcome, I'll be in your boat soon with DD (2) DS (nearly 4) and twins due shortly.

Mars sorry I haven't been in touch, I'm starting to get DD's bug so feeling a bit drained at the mo.

DS's nursery had their xmas recital this morning. Only three of us made it on time. The others arrived 15 mins late (when the raffle was about to begin) so the children had to start again by which time they were bored. I was so angry that at almost 36 wks pg with twins, sick dd in tow and almost crippled with SPD I was still on time.
DS was so cute tho and had a special part and DD won a prize in the raffle.

Hi to all you others DD now wants to "press the buttons mummy" so better leave it there.

FrumpytheGrumpyreindeer · 08/12/2006 17:28

The gin is open girls...I have ice....and lemon.

Jeez my house is a state, a half done christmas tree with all the boxes still lying there, presents all over the spare room in various forms of inbag/outbag, and my children are .....themselves BUT, BUT, BUT, the candles are lit and so all is well.

dingdonglapinroseonhigh · 08/12/2006 18:06

make mine a large one please fg, we're all out of lemon here (not short of gin though, that would never do!)

DH is going out to his work do tonight, I have just about finished my chores, have a pizza in the fridge for later too, yum! I'm really looking forward to a night in on my own, how sad am I?!

HarktheHarrogateMumisSinging · 08/12/2006 19:03

FG - I have had two G&Ts since having DD........I love them.......

There is a bottle of vintage Cava on ice for me and DH tonight and he is cooking me a RARE steak. Hurrah!! I have Brie and stinky blue cheese to follow, double hurrah!!!!

FrumpytheGrumpyreindeer · 08/12/2006 19:56

Dingdong, not sad a bit, heavenly I think. I have almost every night on my own but at the weekend the times can be relaxed as there is no school run and no packed lunch and no chipping mud off shoes etc etc. You munch on and enjoy!

HM, wow, you sound so calm, so organised, so happy, is Maddy sleeping well then? I'm glad for you honey . I so wish I was eating at yours, sounds....I was going to say bellisimoso but I have no idea if thats the right pronounciation or spelling and I hope you forgive me .

dingdonglapinroseonhigh · 08/12/2006 20:11

It must be hard on your own in the week fg. I know I really look forward to DH coming home in the evening so he can help out (in his own little way) and the girls are always so pleased to see him, its much harder when he's working late so god knows how you manage to cope and still come on here and be all cheery, must be the gin

FrostyTheSnowMarsLady · 08/12/2006 21:59

Ok ladies... now let's concentrate on what's important here..............

Tracykb needs a christmas name. No more posting till we've found one.

twinkletwinklelittletracy · 10/12/2006 13:53

Oh Frumpy thank you. And thank you mars as well - but sorry you scared everyone off on my behalf. I'm sorry I'm so crap but my thinking capacity at the moment is all taken up by how to negotiate sharing one barbie doll between 3 and of course none of the other 599 dolls we have will do instead

So now I'm all dressed up and ready for the festive season. We even got our tree yesterday so now all we have to do is keep the baubles on it in one piece .

Thank you again, hope v. much that no-one posted because they're madly busy being mums of twins than anything else. Hope all are well.

FrumpytheGrumpyreindeer · 10/12/2006 18:21

Yeah!

Anyone else naked?

FrostyTheSnowMarsLady · 10/12/2006 18:25

LOL!

Let me now give permission for you all to post again!

Overrunderthemistletoe · 10/12/2006 19:00

hello all, I am back from my little trip to Somerset. That side of dh's family are very keen on walking. I was assured that this would be a little gentle and not very muddly one. yeah right. I was the one only one not in wellies, and I slipped and squelched all over the place. The worst of it was I couldn't stop the girly screams when I was sliding out of control down this hill.
Still my baked shallots went down well.

dingdonglapinroseonhigh · 10/12/2006 20:53

Hello everyone, love the xmas name tracy

I've had a busy w/e with my parents here since sat lunch and PILs sat afternoon for a family birthday party for the DTs, loads of preparation & effort demolished in under an hour as usual! Never mind, we planned to wander along to our farmers market today and have lunch out, but howling gale and DT2's chesty cough meant we skipped the walk and went straight to the pub & even better my parents paid!

I'm feeling aggrieved on my DTs behalf as PILs spend a fortune on their other granddaughters (one is 5, the other 19) but bought my 2 a pair of PJs 2 sizes too big and a couple of books for their birthday...not bothered about that as such, my family are not big on presents anyway, but the difference in treatment is quite astounding so I'm having a little rant to myself and anyone else who'll listen

Overrunderthemistletoe · 11/12/2006 09:35

dingdonglapinroseonhigh why do you think that your dts are treated differently. Mine do get more than that, but we can tell that people tend to hesitate at the expense of being generous to both of them at the same time. I am sure that they don't get as much as ds1, but never mind hey? It is expensive for people I suppose

dingdonglapinroseonhigh · 11/12/2006 11:08

Oh I agree overrunderthemistletoe, I think buying for 2 at once is very expensive, especially when their birthday is so close to Christmas and am trying to introduce a summer party for them, perhaps to mark the anniversary of their christening, to spread it out a bit

I really don't mind how much people spend on them, my problem is with the way the whole of DH's family seems to treat them so differently to my SIL's daughters. SIL is single mum and had her first daughter at 17, the second at 31, both have been looked after extensively by PILs who are effectively the main carers for the second and MIL isn't happy that I don't want or need them to be looking after my 2 every day - I guess it is more a case of my perception than anything, although DH agrees with me (he is a wise man!) and feels that his sis has done rather nicely out of his parents so far, house, car, holidays all paid for...familes, they're great aren't they!

FrumpytheGrumpyreindeer · 11/12/2006 13:06

Oh families........I had to spend a couple of hours with my MIL on saturday (a rare occurence if I can help it) at a funeral. The worst, worst, worst thing is that she almost enjoyed it. Loved the 'excitment' and drama. Yeuch.

Happy Birthday for your wee ones dingdong.

OO-er Mrs at your baked shallots!! (I love shallots.....feel a recipe request coming on!)

We had some snow earlier . Some horrible wet sleety stuff. So I am drinking a pot of tea and nibbling a muffin.....to keep warm you understand. And sorting through Christmas gifts while having a lunch break you understand.

dingdonglapinroseonhigh · 11/12/2006 13:32

You lucky thing fg, sounds like a lovely way to spend a saturday

I'm polishing off left overs from the weekend, in the interests of being tidy obviously, don't have any snow here (though it is bloody cold) but will store that excuse up for later...

FrostyTheSnowMarsLady · 11/12/2006 17:20

PMSL!

As soon as I posted that you could all post again you did!!!
