Kelly1978GotRunOverByAReindeer · 06/12/2006 13:45

mars email is lovelymarslady @ hotmail . com
I'm sure she won't mind me giving it out.

I'm feelign a bit low today, have another post runnign soemwhere, but I'm trying not to let things get to me too much and I've been baking all morning.

Kelly1978GotRunOverByAReindeer · 06/12/2006 13:46

@ aol .com, sorry. Why did I type hotmail?!

FrumpytheGrumpyreindeer · 06/12/2006 14:01

Kelly, link me into your thread.......

Girls, we are all feeling it just now. Its because life is busy enough without dropping a dollop of christmas on top. You can't escape it sometimes!! Lets look at things differently......what corners can we cut? This year, I'm only sending cards to those nearest and dearest. I'm cutting out ex-colleagues who I really liked but who I never see from one year to another (and don't need to).

I'm also tackling my day differently, doing my important jobs first (getting parcel for Australia ready) and thinking about laundry and dishes after. I have a bit of build up but I am forcing myself to be calm about it.

What corners can you cut?

p.s. I let dd1 loose to decorate the christmas tree last night my, my it looks........like no other . I will sort it at the weekend but for now it has kept her happy!

FrumpytheGrumpyreindeer · 06/12/2006 14:12

just doing what it says on the tin

leogaela · 06/12/2006 14:31

Maybe lots of us feeling down is something to do with the full moon.
My shortcuts on christmas are to do almost nothing until the very last minute then I only have time to do the very minimum !

HarktheHarrogateMumisSinging · 06/12/2006 16:20

yes I know what you mean about a list of jobs FG....I have just huffed out of a post office as I had the baby in her car seat and a big bag of presents to post to DH's family in Aus. They didnt have a box the right size and werent interested in helping me so I bought a massive mail bag and then there was no pen at the desk where I was standing and people were tutting around me as I was taking so long. I ended up saying "you know what I dont think I'll bother as you have been so helpful" and waltzed out.

I actually feel better for it!

Have been catching up on everyones news a bit but Maddy about to wake up so gotta go.....

Loving the festive smilies!

Kelly1978GotRunOverByAReindeer · 06/12/2006 16:24

all my baking is nearly finished. I'm supposed to be practising with ds for his play tomorrow, but somehow I've been left singing HUmpf the camel all by myself while they've run off to play with duplo

#'sing, siiing, siing for the baby boyyy'#

thread here fg. The posters have given me some good advice, I'll prob have a nother read through once the kids are in bed. I'm off out for a few hours to get my nails done later so hopefully that will take my mind off it for a bit.

FrumpytheGrumpyreindeer · 06/12/2006 17:52

HM, good for you girl, so like me! So, different PO next time . Love the name Maddy by the way.

Leo, now much as I love you, I expect you to be wearing something special next time we meet. You just are not wearing enough, especially in winter. Get a bit of tinsel on you honey! It changes everything. Leolordsaleaping, Harktheheraldleosings, Leogaelainamanger, Leogaelacamedownfromabove, Leoisalush, Leogaelasnoggedtheboss......

Off to read Kelly's thread and do baths.....

FrostyTheSnowMarsLady · 07/12/2006 08:58

Yes Leo email me. lovelymarslady at aol dot com

Also... Kelly will read your thread tonight when I'm back. Much love my angel.

HM..... good on you girl... though why you didn't pinch the DTs and pop them straight into the hands of the complainers I don't know! lol

Where's lapinrose and Tracykb? Are they slacking again?

Coooooooooeeeeeeeeeeee Overrun how's it going?

FG... your room awaits you!

HarktheHarrogateMumisSinging · 07/12/2006 09:55

I have to share this - went up to turn off DTs light last night and DT2 was sat looking sheepish at the end of his cot. His nappy containing one big poo was on his pillow and another big poo was nestled in his duvet.........nice.

Is this the shape of things to come?

we1becomes3kings · 07/12/2006 11:02

Hi ladies I know I haven't posted on this thread for a while.
I finally reached 20 weeks on monday and have my scan on friday.
I am quite nervous about it although I am sure everthing will be fine.

Fingers crossed.

Hope you are all doing well

FrostyTheSnowMarsLady · 07/12/2006 11:18

Welcome back honey Don't be a stranger. We'll be thinking of you all tomorrow. Let us know how it all goes.

FrumpytheGrumpyreindeer · 07/12/2006 13:12

Glad you joined us. Like us, I like the fact you can do nothing once.....

Budge up girls, we have a guest, Mars, lemon drizzle cake please, Kelly, can you do a quick manicure and HM, a tap dance if at all possible, Overrun, Lapinrose, piximon, leogaela, largeginandtonic can you be in the choir and do hip wiggles.

I'll hoover and plump the cushions

ThrockenAroundTheChristmasTree · 07/12/2006 13:18

welcome !

I tend to wander in and out muttering distractedly.

Usually by the time I have caught up with the thread I have forgotten all the comments I was going to make .

For those of us a bit slow on the uptake (ie me) can you elaborate on your twin status ? I have id boys who will be 4 in January and ask every day "is it our birthday yet ?"

FrumpytheGrumpyreindeer · 07/12/2006 13:44

Throck I missed you off the list intentionally of course as I presumed you'd be dancing under the tree......

ThrockenAroundTheChristmasTree · 07/12/2006 14:01

'salright frump - I just tend to flit through when i am at work and things aren't working (like now - am trying to compile a stupid bit of software and failing dismally - would much rather be boogying at the moment ).

dingdonglapinroseonhigh · 07/12/2006 16:14

afternoon everyone, having a manic week, DTs are 3 next week, both sets of grandparents coming this w/e, streaming cold and the weather is crap [festive stroppy face]

The shops are heaving, everytime I go I wish I hadn't bothered and that's having done most of it online! I wish I was Nigella, did you see her last night...

Overrunderthemistletoe · 07/12/2006 17:42

hello one and all,
FG, thanks for your post on my other thread and your support in general (of course the last bit applies to every one)
kelly, I will contact you, I don't mind chatting, as its not like a job, cos I am doing it as a friend and not as you child protection is not my area of expertise anyway. Now if you have any psychotic thougths to report, I'm your woman
HM, poo, taking nappies off, cots, god I think I am having a flash back.
Every one else, greetings, nobody has commented on my christmas name, I didn't think it up, but think its rather good,

Kelly1978GotRunOverByAReindeer · 07/12/2006 17:49

I do have psychotic thoughts regarding my social worker

I am all pampered. Drove 20 miles for a manicure yesterday and they couldn't fit me in, so I had a haircut instead. Then I got my manicure today. Plus a new coat and day 6 of not smoking so I am feeling more presentable!

my dts were such an embarassment today. They were little buggers in tesco, and the grand finale was them both standing up and tippign the pram over with all my shopping thrown to the floor. Why did I think it was a good idea to put them in the pram...

Ont he other hand ds1 was absolutely wonderful as Joseph in his play. I was so proud of him, he sang his heart out and beamed at everyone. He has come on so much from a little boy who 6 mnths ago couldn't sing and would have hidden in the nearest loo at the sight of so many people.

largevirginbirthandtonic · 07/12/2006 18:11

at your ds Kelly, did you weep? Im a sucker at thise bloomin school plays, i have 4 to watch this year {fhmm] I may need to take a bottle of water to replenish my tears

Welcome newbie, have some cake >

I am Nigella...i was fabulous last night on the T.V wasn't i....
