There's a mouse in our bedroom! I've just seen it shoot under the bed. And dh told me I was imagining it as I've laid awake most of the night hearing things scamper around.

God I am feeling awful :( Couldnt have timed it better....... need to get to Boots for throat lozenges. Need to find the turkey in the depths of the freezer and need to wash my hair..........need to do a lot of things and dont feel like doing any!! Very glad I am not you MM, all those visitors to feed and amuse, you amaze me!

Can today please be over!! I don't like this full house thing. Overwhelmed by the chaos and the noise. And the language barrier is frustrating! Great Grandpa who knows no English is arguing with my MiL even though cannot understand each other or no what the other is talking about . For the record; shes arguing it's rude to talk about someone in a forgein language (he mentioned her name) and he complimented her cherry pie and then replied to her shout "who are you ranting at you crazy lady" both are too stubborn to listen to us so dad is getting involved while holding a screaming Halo. I give up. Everyone else is pretending that they can't hear them and carrying on eating and prepping food. I've hid in the bathroom with Artie... God help me on Christmas... Ho Ho bloody Ho.

How many have you got staying with you Mama, sounds like 100`s!! I am dosed up in my bed praying for a miracle, hate hate hate colds!!!

I only have dad, DB1, DB2 and BiL staying with me. Others are staying in a hotel and my GPs & GGPa are staying at DH brother's.

However they all came round today to help with food and spoil DC. They left at 4pm thank God. Hope you feel better soon, Shabs!! Xx

I havent got a cold - I am not ill.....I am pissed off LOL. Hate Xmas without two of my four sons - without my precious Dad and without my Mam who is struggling to stay my Mam.

It's a shame you can't just bugger off to Greece for Xmas! I could be so tempted to just fly away from it all...

dt2 no longer believes DH is a boring fart and is pleased and we now have all the presents under the tree, but now NO-ONE does, and doing the stockings just isn't the same :(

Taking the kids ice skating today as a xmas eve treat (won tickets!). All the shopping is done, so ice skating and maybe a wander around Ikea to look for stuff for the new house then sit down and chill!

I think I was more tired than I thought. I meant to say Trips, but I must have been thinking about you too, Shabs. I miss my mum more so this time of year. She loved Christmas, I have fond memories of this dorky Christmas hat so wore every year and it was tatty as she'd had it since Ivan was a baby (Ivan brought this year for me to wear but I've bribed im into wearing it. Mum would have had a hoot if she saw him and took loads of embarrassing photos. I'm starting to forget her voice and how she laughed. I can't remember what she smells like anymore... God, I miss her :(

Trying to spare two minutes to myself before choas ensures. I don't want to leave my sancutary. Think we're gunna visit Fee before I start the cooking. Explaining NICU instead a revolving door to stubborn people is like talking to brick wall. Pointless. Everyone wants to see him before the New Year comes in.

DH the lucky bugger has managed to escape going to midnight mass by "shotgunning" to stay with Halo and A. .

Oh my church as well mama!! Crikey you know how to pile on the pressure!! My family arrives today but it's just my parents and my bro and his wife so 9 of us in total. We share the cooking so mum doing tonight me tomorrow and my bro on Boxing Day. Then they all head home on 27th!!

oh woe is me woe is me...........have struggled through the day, am so choked up, cannot breathe, family turned up tonight even though I warned them I was ill, stayed over 2 hours......I just wanted to crawl into my bed. I have just given the dcs their stocking, no more can I wait up until they are all asleep, dh is getting cross with me, keeps muttering "yes we all know you have got a cold". I dont plan these things, have worked so hard towards Christmas and now cant enjoy it. Have no sense of taste, not fair! Anyway oodles of love to you all my dearest lovely friends, may your little ones sleep past 5am, may you enjoy your special day and may your turkey get stuffed...........mine is taking its chances!! Weird day - just the 3 of us - BUT I watched the Queens speech and heckled her all the way through it just like my Dad used to do he was the most anti-royalist person I have ever met LOL.

My Matts two favourite films both on today.....earlier on 'Back to the future' and just starting 'Big!!' - he used to say 'I dont know whats going on in these films but they are gweat arent they Mam?' - bless him - my barking mad fruitloop!!! xx

Massive hugs, Trips!! 4 people visited Fee today and will do more visiting tomorrow.

The last people just left; 2 very drunk cousins who were singing Russian carols... I am exhausted and dead on my feet, a migraine coming on, Halo is in the crankiest mood ever (overehelmed and unable to self soothe), A is having bad night terrors, the dog is asleep in K's room and DH & Petrov are passed out on the sofa in Xmas thongs and hats... Merry Xmas everyone!

Next Year's Xmas has been arranged; we're going to Russia (xmas there is in January)! :)

Visited Fee today. He's now on 6ml of breask milk!!! He's doing so so well. He's had no seizures for the past 58 hours! He now weighs 1lb 10oz! We got to hold him again and he did so much better this time. They have concerns about his hearing and we have a feeling they'll confirm what us and the doctors have suspected for a while but other than that he's doing amazingly well! :)

Ivan and I are sharing a bed tonight because Petrov and DH have somehow managed to fall asleep in their Christmas onesies on the blow up bed... Our men are so weird at Christmas.

Who's Ivan mm?? Confused!! It's snowing here in North Yorkshire hooray!!

Ivan is my older brother, HM. And Petrov is my brother's boyfriend.

Sharing the bed with Ivan has made me realise a) he's a blanket hogger b) how annoying it is to wear PJs to bed c) he's a sleep talker d) I miss our childhood days of sneaking in his room when I had nightmares or to watch storms and e) how weird and comfortable our family dynamics that DH is top 'n' tailing with my BIL and nobody in the household is the slightest bit phased!

It's foggy here but supposed to snow tomorrow. Hoping it is so I can send the DC out to play!

Time for bed. Exhausted and run off my feet.

No snow, just rain. Although has been dry enough for Emily and James to get outside on their new bikes. James hasn't yet realised I've taken the mudguard off (needed to saddle as low as it could go). It's taking him a little getting used to as even on its lowest, it's quite a bit bigger than his old bike. But it will be much better once he's got the hang of it, and grown a cm or possibly 2. It certainly doesn't phase him once he gets going. Emily is a little more nervy about her bike. But she has been riding a ridiculously small bike since a major growth spurt in the summer so again, some practice and she will be fine. Joshua is loving the new balance bike and trundles round the lounge. Jen can't quite get the hang of the weight of it I think. But she's happy to sort of peddle on the stabiliser bike. Can't wait to get them both out on their balance bikes properly. Will make going to school and back quite fun!

Enjoying a relaxed pj day today. Dh worked Xmas day so we did Xmas dinner yesterday, and it ended up feeling quite stressful! (It wasn't, it just felt it as we popped by to see inlaws which threw veg prep out).

Had a lovely cooked brunch and now cooking nibbles for tea as kids aren't really into eating a lot right now. The twins are being awful eaters and Jen in particular just throws her food around.

James is struggling with the business and overwhelming nature of Christmas when you're a kid. But now we've unwrapped all but one present I'm hoping he will settle down. They don't know it yet but the big two have kiddy android tablets. Took me a while to set them up but now it's done, we're holding off giving them until the cries of 'we're bored!' Get too much. Considering we can watch frozen and moshi monster movie twice a day at the minute, we've not really had it too much.

I am around, finally!
finished at 3 on Xmas Eve, and met up with DH and boys so they could do the last minute shopping, all mine was done, went home, their version of a neat and tidy house was a joke, I got upset, and spent the next 2 hrs tidying, then I put the turkey and ham in the oven and promptly fell asleep! Nobody thought to wake me so I woke to find that the meat should have been finished over 1/2hr before hand
Stayed up to 1am to do stockings, was woken at 3am by excited boys building models from said stockings then alarm at 6 am to go to work. Christmas at work good, hard work but worth it, then I came home at 3pm to find DH and boys had done all the veg prep, opened all pressies and dinner at 6pm. Turkey wasn't to overdone, especially heated in gravey.and all went well but I was exhausted
Boxing day we visited mum, who was not too well as she have got a urine infection, which always makes her very confused and anxious, then played board games. Today has been a total veg out in front of the TV with turkey curry and lots of wine. Now off to bed as visiting 3 lots of our respective family tomorrow! Merry Christmas everyone!!
