Hiya girls.

Chops so sorry to hear he news about your Aunt IL. Cancer is a bastard - I hate it with a passion.

I think the Greek people are amazing for having the courage to vote NO!! My friends seem delighted. They are a proud nation. A 'holiday friend' is in Rhodes at the moment and says it is business as usual.

Its not me that has a stent Bubbs but dk , he is having a DAT scan and I am having an mri. Do you know much about Dat scans?

Minisoksmakehardwork · 08/07/2015 09:52

Morning. We're muddling through here at the moment. Hope things are ok with you all, well, as good as they can be.

Jen is not liking going on preschool at the moment. Of course, she's fine within minutes of me leaving. It's probably all the staff changes which have unsettled her again.

James had a brilliant school report. To the point where I have wondered if they are talking about the same child! Especially when they've levelled him as 'expected' for his reading, yet he's 4 levels behind where they want him to be. And I can't see that changing significantly in the next 2 weeks.

Emily's was lovely too. She just needs to keep her enthusiasm in check a little! Apparently it stops her concentrating on doing a good job. Luckily her teacher likes her enthusiasm so it's not too much of a problem.

Other than that the twins are utterly gorgeous. They're playing together more than fighting at the moment. Which has resulted in lots of lovely giggles and chortles from them as they chase each other round the garden and so on.

Feeling so utterly lost and sad on Matthews birthday, 36 today.......how can that be........so many lost empty years, so many tears. I will love you and miss you forever.......xxxx

Chopstheduck · 09/07/2015 07:33

Thinking of you today, Trips. Happy birthday to Matthew xxx

Soks - they sound adorable! Mine couldn't stand each other at that age! Grin

Bubby - I do hope things improve for your poor mum.

Thank you for the well wishes for dh Aunt. She seems a little improved. Breathing more on her own, and starting to respond to those around her. Fingers crossed she has turned a corner for now. :) I do feel so sorry for her family. It's her son's 30th today, they had planned a lovely family meal out, etc.

shabbs · 09/07/2015 10:34

Morning girls xx

Sending my love to you today Trips - as always. So very wrong isin't it? No parent should ever have to lose a child. I like to think that my lads and your Matthew are together and celebrating his birthday.

Take care my dear friend. xxx

Shabs.......I have never heard that before, such beautiful words........thank you my friend. God I have struggled today, hate being at the cemetery, seeing his name on a headstone, it stabs you in the heart. Struggled all day not to scream at everyone, felt in a bad mood all day, and angry, so angry. Just want the day to end, its all so wrong and my head is full of your pink frogs Shabs xx

Understand every word of your post Trips.

I love Ed Sheeran - his songs are fantastic (and I have got 'a thing' for Gingers) xxx

Morning xxx

Minisoksmakehardwork · 13/07/2015 12:36

Yay! I have a working washing machine again! It broke down (again) last Monday and has sat half full of water after bailing it out 3 times and still not getting it to work. Bloody cooking fat got into the pipes and solidified. Whoops! Although the guy did say he has seen a lot worse, with whole pipes blocked. Ours was about the length of a finger.

I'm actually kind of looking forward to the school holidays at the moment. I'm trying to take a more relaxed approach to things. Fingers crossed it works.

Minisoksmakehardwork · 13/07/2015 14:16

Oh the joys of arguing with bt. I've just discovered they've been charging us rental for a phone we haven't had for 3.5 years!! Also, despite last time making sure everything was correct and up to date, we've incurred broadband excess charges again! The man has just asked what I wanted him to do. Er, wipe the charges as I should have had a warning email and also refund the rental for a phone that was cancelled 42 months ago??

shabbs · 13/07/2015 14:42

Afternoon girls.

Not much going on here - but that will all change on Friday!!! Schools break up for the Summer holidays on Thursday night so I will have at least four weeks of babysitting duties love Lew with all my heart - but its a looooong time!!! lol.

Hope everybody is OK xx

Schools break up here on 23rd, must admit, I am dreading the holidays, as I am going to be at my new job and having to leave the boys on their own all day every weekday. The fights will go on, with no one to referee,
And they have bought home a letter from school today about a trip to Berlin which is on the syllabus of both the Germans and History GCSE. If they are to go, then I have to send in £100 each as a deposit by Friday! Why do they a)ask for such a large deposit and b) Give us so little time to scrape that large deposit together! We will do it somehow, as they have missed out on both the French trip and Ski trip, and it will increase their chances with their GCSE, but it will be hard. Thank God for the new job in that way, as I will have a better income!

Minisoksmakehardwork · 14/07/2015 16:55

Bubs, could you ask that they make an exception as you have twin dc wanting to go and accept 1 x 100 deposit for both, and you'll add the extra on to what you need to pay at that time - use the 'it wasn't your choice to have twins' card in your favour?

Am having a lovely argument with bt at the moment. Properly tied them in knots as they're not sending emails to the email address I've asked them to use. They're arguing that they're sending them so it shouldn't matter...

Minisoksmakehardwork · 15/07/2015 00:18

I've just made 3 bee costumes. Who wants to take bets on j1 not wearing his now (admittedly it might be a snug fit).

triplets · 16/07/2015 08:21

Hi all.......just recovering fro the w/end. Had inlaws here for 2 nights and they were a pita!!!! Saw the bee costumes, very impressed! Hospital day today! Dk had a DAT scan(brain) in Canterbury at 11.40am. Been told it will take around 45 mins, mri so has to keep as still as poss. He phoned them up on Mon and said it would be impossible for him to be still as he has Parkinsons! She said they could offer sedation............but there would be a CHARGE for it!!! Can you believe that? Then at 7.10pm today I have an mri on my foot at last at Margate hospital! Hoping for an answer after 7 months of pain and still no podiatry app! James had his first driving lesson y/day, he said he enjoyed it and it went well.........just paying for it!! Rebecca lot her purse last week along with her bus pass...........oh and my soldier boy got gassed y/day.........an exercise they have to do!! So as you can see.........a pretty normal week :o

bubby64 · 19/07/2015 14:35

How did scans go Trips, and how dare they have the cheek to charge for sedation when it is needed for a medical reason!
I would complaint to the hospital PALS system as it is a descrimination of a medical need

triplets · 19/07/2015 23:12

Hi Bubbs........well Thurs was a pretty long day. We were 5 hours at Canterbury hospital for the DAT scan, he had to wait 3 hours after being given the injection to doing the scan. No sedation was offered. We got home at 5.45pm and then left at 6.15pm for my appointment in Margate! Scan was uncomfy as I had to lie on my stomach for 25 mins with my legs in a sort of channel with my poorly foot flexed and it hurt! Dh will get his result in 10-14 days, and I was told mine would be 3-4 weeks because of the back log!! So I limp on. Had a fantastic afternoon today, the Antique Roadshow came to Deal! It was at Walmer Castle which is 5 mins walk from my house. There was a terrific atmosphere, saw all the presenters, we even spoke to Fiona Bruce who was lovely, its going to be broadcast in the Autumn!

triplets · 19/07/2015 23:17

Girls.......need inspiration! My good friend will be 60 at the end of the month and I am struggling to know what to get her. She is single, never had children but has three dogs! She loves a joke, is very funny, loves nature/birds etc. She has subscriptions already to rspb/eng heritage etc. I would just like to think of something totally different, bit of fun and doesn`t cost a lot! We were all going to club in and buy something but that is now not going to happen. Any ideas? :)

shabbs · 20/07/2015 01:15

How about downloading her favourite songs Trips? Or writing her a letter telling her how you feel?

OP posts:
triplets · 20/07/2015 22:06

Feel like writing a letter to dk tonight telling him how I feel! He was so awful to me tonight after dinner, all over his bloody relatives (the Wiganites) who want to come and visit. They are his family not mine!

Minisoksmakehardwork · 21/07/2015 02:59

60 small things? Can be as simple as a copy of a poem you think she would like, 'vouchers' for a meal together/cuppa and cake to be redeemed through the year? Might be considered crass but they're a good way of spreading some costs out through the year instead of a bigger layout in one go.

What did dk do trips?

Minisoksmakehardwork · 21/07/2015 02:59

Shabs. Thinking of you and your gorgeous Gareth today. Xxx

triplets · 21/07/2015 06:04

Gareth I know is missed by you each and every day, he will be somewhere not to far away waiting........I feel you hurt Shabs xx
