A new thread!
Especially for throckenholt

I was hoping the original one would go to 1000, but it was gettign a but annoying scrolling all the way done, so come over here instead.

How is everyone coping with the school holidays?

I'm fed up with the rubbish weather, as we're stuck in the house too much. I daren't take them to soft play as it packed during the hols and then I can't watch all four of them. Plus it costs a fortune.
Mine are changing so much. Rav is becoming a right wuss, scared of new places. I suppose it shows awareness, but it is annoying when I've driven miles for a nice day out and he just wants to sit and whine because he is too scared to go on anything! Shay is developing his houdini skills, and now has a tendancy to bolt out of parks so I have to watch him like a hawk. I must dig out the reins before we go on holiday.

talking of twins sharing - does it piss you off when its their birthday and they get one card between them from people?

MarsLady · 08/11/2006 16:29

LOL!

I'm still trying to get over the people that ask me which ones the girl twin and which the boy when they are clearly dressed in girly dresses (the girl twin clever clogs) or blue jeans and tops with trucks on (the boy twin). Never ceases to amaze me! And as I keep saying.... Yes! They are identical!!!!!!!!!!

MarsLady · 08/11/2006 16:30

I won't let people give them one card or present to share! Makes my blood boil!

harrogatemum · 08/11/2006 16:30

tee hee

Kelly1978 · 08/11/2006 16:35

It got anoyed when my parents sent one christmas card between the four of htem last year. dd and ds1 always got one each, but now she decided that four was too many to seperate out! The birthday cards from distant relatives I kind of expected realy, though I would never do it.

twins...share...toys...splutter! I bought my two a weeble treehouse from a charity shop today. dt1 has been waddling around with it trying to keep it away from dt2. Luckily there are four weebles with it, so they have one for each hand so they can't thump each other for them.

I def don't colour co-ordinate mine, but then they are dressed the smae most of the time, despite good intentions to stop taht. So nobody ever calls them by their names. Mind you, that might be partly down to their unpronounceable foreign names

Thanks for the tip fg, we still have some upstairs so might give it another whirl. I was slathering it on like sudocreme.

wait till they start hitting each other with them .

Overrun · 08/11/2006 16:46

I certainly do get annoyed if some one does that, but wierdly the only time that has happened was when I got one card for both of them from a friend of mine who has twins.
My family are pretty good tbh, but then my Dad might get them seperate presents but does bemoan the cost a bit !

Kelly1978 · 08/11/2006 16:50

shhhhh throckenholt, don't give them ideas!

earlysbird · 08/11/2006 20:53

Overrun · 08/11/2006 21:56

Have any of you seen Mars thread about being pregnant again, yet no mention of it here, how bizarre

Kelly1978 · 09/11/2006 08:08

throckenholt · 09/11/2006 08:13

it was a spoof by Mars - she owned up !.

Shame on them both for not rushing over here to explain and risking us getting all het up

harrogatemum · 09/11/2006 09:50

awww Mars - I was all excited for you for a second there! Go on have some more - you will become a Mumsnet legend (not that you arent already.....)

largeginandtonic · 09/11/2006 10:28

Good morning everyone, have been a bit quiet as Dh is home He is in the Navy and has been away since sept 1st, i found out i was prg 2 weeks later, he's come home to find his normaly svelte wife in big pants and maternity jeans...lol.

FG hee hee at flirting with a boy, i have a story about where that leads...

Speedy my dt's had chicken pox when they were 2 1/2 and dd was 10mths. They all got it exactly 2 weeks apart i was in the house for 7 weeks with contaminated children. It was hell, i felt like a prisoner.

Overrun i PMSL at the music teacher only offering 1 instrument, my god there would have been mutiny with my dt's if she had done that to them!

HM the dt's just had their birthday and still get a card between them from lots of people even though at 8 they say something about it now!

frumpygrumpy · 09/11/2006 14:12

largegin, do tell your story........

My DT2 and DD are still showing no signs of the pox YET but I guess from what you are saying someone could be due to get it by Tuesday/Wednesday .

Mars? Pregnant? I wouldn't put it past her, she'll just pop it out on her lunch hour and be back in the fields by 2pm .

MarsLady · 09/11/2006 14:19

Well I could hardly post on here lol It's the first place they would have come to check out my story.

It was a wicked thing to do... and now I have everything knotted and crossed (it would be my luck that the vasectomy failed and I'd be on here weeping almost inconsolably)

frumpygrumpy · 09/11/2006 14:28

bum, I need to see that thread and I'm off out ......

did I ever tell you that I get spells where I can't imagine not having just one more........ problem is I go wonky for two years after it and I couldn't guarantee having just one more....

MarsLady · 09/11/2006 14:32

FG... I know... I feel your pain

JuA · 09/11/2006 14:52

FG - I know exactly what you mean - I can't put my hand on my heart and say my family is complete - but I am not sure I could cope with 2 again - also dh would probably leave - he only ever wanted 2!

I don't think any one in my family would dare get them a joint card or present - they have all been told it is unacceptable!

Someone asked me yesterday if I dressed them differently so I could tell them apart ah yes I bath them in their clothes so I don't get them mixed up!

MarsLady · 09/11/2006 15:03

PMSL JuA. People really are that stupid aren't they?

harrogatemum · 09/11/2006 15:41

hi all - just come back from antenatal appt....I was convinced they were going to take me in and induce me due to baby moving around loads and was secretly pleased by this (am not known for my love of spontaneity) but nooooooo baby no. 3 has got its act together and is infact 3/5 engaged! So I now have an appt for 30th november which is a week over my due date......I CANT WAIT THAT LONG, I'M BORED AND I WANT IT TO BE BORN SOON!!!!!!!!!!!

Anyway enough of that - someone told me that with second pregnancies that heads dont engage - but they said some do at the antenatal clinic - anyone got any pearls of wisdom on this? And does this mean it DEFINITELY wont move again out of this position? MArs - I am sure you will know the answer! Plus as you are newly pregnant this will all be very exciting to you, ho ho ho (Santa Stylee).

MarsLady · 09/11/2006 15:45

HM... I AM NOT............. I REPEAT NOT PREGNANT!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Now as to your baby........ relax babe. If you get all tense then baby won't come. When HD gets home do what you did to get into this position in the first place. He'll be pleased as punch and hopefully the labour will start. And could you please stay away from induction. Have I not told you that that's not a good idea! Honestly!

btw... if HD wants beef in wine casserole again it's on for tonight. Otherwise he can come tomorrow and get creamy chicken.... (unless he's heading home tomorrow)
