A new thread!
Especially for throckenholt

I was hoping the original one would go to 1000, but it was gettign a but annoying scrolling all the way done, so come over here instead.

How is everyone coping with the school holidays?

I'm fed up with the rubbish weather, as we're stuck in the house too much. I daren't take them to soft play as it packed during the hols and then I can't watch all four of them. Plus it costs a fortune.
Mine are changing so much. Rav is becoming a right wuss, scared of new places. I suppose it shows awareness, but it is annoying when I've driven miles for a nice day out and he just wants to sit and whine because he is too scared to go on anything! Shay is developing his houdini skills, and now has a tendancy to bolt out of parks so I have to watch him like a hawk. I must dig out the reins before we go on holiday.

PMSL at clothes in the bath Jua! People do come out with the most ridiculous comments. Someone asked me once if i put a different coloured spot on them to tell who was who, i said to the (dead pan face) "yes, but it rubbed off in the bath, so ive never been sure since who is who" They gasped and looked [shocked]. I had to go quickly to stop myself wetting my pants on the spot

With a second baby and subsequent, the head can go in and out of the pelvis, so unfortunatly it can mean nothing. Having said that my friend who had her baby at the weekend, her second baby, was engaged 3/5 at the midwives app and the baby came 2 days later! So i would go with that thought and think positive, or delude yourself, whichever makes you happier I have all fingers and toes crossed for you

Fg i met a rather yum boy while out with my ickle brother (only 23) at xmas last year, he was only 24. We went out to celebrate his 25th birthday on 28th dec and i married him in on 8th July this year

Im a 29 by the way.....

MarsLady · 09/11/2006 15:56

If I visit you HM baby will come that night or next day latest! That's how it's been with my clients so far lol!

harrogatemum · 09/11/2006 16:13

Mars - HD is already on his way home, but that beef and wine casserole sounds yum - are you a domestic goddess as well as a doula/Shakespeare studier/salsa dancer/pregnant for the 5th timer??? Ha haaaaaaa

I will try to relax so that the baby makes its own way into the world - I know induction isnt great but its PLANNED and ORGANISED and that suits me down to a tee. All this waters breaking in the middle of the night and having to get into hospital quickly fills me with dread! Never been good at surprises!

Anyway - Mars you had better come and visit and that way mini-harrogatemum will surely come sooner! Cant promise you a beef and wine casserole but could probably stretch to my famous tarragon chicken with dauphinoise spuds yummmmmmmmmmmm.

Right - got to go and get the DTs from nursery - they were having their photos taken today, they looked so cute when I dropped them off in their shirts and tank tops... AWWWW. They are 2 on MOnday, I cant quite believe it!

Overrun · 09/11/2006 21:09

Largeginandtonic, thats a heart warming story!
Well I just have to tell you, how wonderful my dts are at the moment. I am just loving them atm I think its the increase in their speech that really makes a difference.
Tonight, dt2 washed dt1 in the bath. Then when they said goodnight, it was spontaneous kisses and cuddles and "goodnight ....." and " goodnight ....." , they way they say each others names is so sweet.
Just thought I would share.
As to complete families, there is always going to be a part of me that yearns for another one, but two OMG. We just have to stick at three.

frumpygrumpy · 09/11/2006 23:52

JuA, pmsl at the clothes in the bath .

largegin, thats hilarious! (about the spot) and lovely (about your boy)

Mars, is that feeling the reason you doula? I guess what I'm yearning for is to recreate what I didn't realise I had with DD.

Overrun, thats beautiful!! Mine were actually great today so it must be in the air .

HM.......HM......HM.........rest up girly, enjoy your bump, have baths, rub oil into your skin. If you are uncomfortable I can highly, highly recommend those big ball things. I was horny as a horny thing when pg with the DTs and ended up overdue but hey, it was fun getting there . I went to be induced but luckily didn't need all the stuff as I was already beginning to labour apparently. I shared a small ward with others being induced. I was lucky and I went off to my labour room. The others were in there a looong time and had various drugs and gels. When they eventually made it to the post-birth ward they all looked like something from One Flew Over the Cuckoos Nest. Get a big ball and sit on it as much as possible, it will help move things along and is very comfortable (once you have established the balance lol, I'm remembering I wobbled a bit at first ).

harrogatemum · 10/11/2006 17:26

FG = been bouncing on my ball all day.....feel like there is a bowling ball between my legs! Nice. Still no other signs (other than increased moistness - sorry if TMI!!).......yawn. Having a curry tonight.

Might even attempt sex to get things moving!!

Kelly1978 · 10/11/2006 17:35

bouncing on a ball while pg Crazy women!
Mind you I couldn't even walk at 38 weeks pg, and prob would have burst the ball
Hope things get moving for you soon hm.

pmsl at bathing dts in their clothes!

Does anyone find it hard though to tell in old photos which is which? Sometimes I really have to stare at them, and mine aren't even identical!

frumpygrumpy · 10/11/2006 18:30

Oh HM, I feel for you. Not had that "I must gut the fridge, wipe behind the bedside tables and climb under the bed to hoover" instinct?

Could you maybe have one or two little glasses of vino calipso, dance a bit, throw yourself at HD and in the morning a shiny baby will be slumbering peacefully in a crib at the bottom of the bed, with no face creases and will be gently swaddled in a permanently immaculate cashmere shawl. It does happen like that sometimes right?

throckenholt · 10/11/2006 18:46

Not had that "I must gut the fridge, wipe behind the bedside tables and climb under the bed to hoover" instinct?

I never had that feeling (either pregnant or not !)

harrogatemum · 10/11/2006 20:03

Have had a small beer. DH gone to get curry.

Have bounced on ball.

Have considered fact that if go overdue could be 7th December by time I give birth.

waaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh...........

largeginandtonic · 11/11/2006 11:37

Any news since the curry HM? This is sooo exciting, much better than waiting for my own babies to arrive!

Am having a bad morning, ds#4 up 4 or 5 times last night, am trying to get him to stay in his own bed. This is the 5th night tonight and no improvement yet. Ds#3 wet the bed at 4 this morning and dd wet her bed at 6.30, then they were all up. Dts are the only ones beaving. Im not sure if i actually slept

Have sil and bil coming today which is nice but they have no children and their house is immaculate, so now i have to clean too. Have neighbours kids too as she is moving today, aaaaagggg all i want is a bacon sandwhich and to watch saturday kitchen in peace.

Hope everyone else is having lovely peaceful weekend...

harrogatemum · 11/11/2006 12:23

Hi large g&t - reading your name always makes me want the baby to come sooner - I would kill for an ice cold G & T with a slice of lime - not had one since February! I am sounding like an alcoholic arent I with tales of my beer last night and gagging for a gin!

Well everything quiet this morning - hardly felt any movement today, curry did nothing but give me indigestion so i need more tips (if anyone mentions sex I will be round to clock you one). My FIL is coming over on Wednesday for a week from Cyprus - he thought I was having the baby this weekend so booked himself on a flight...ha ha, he is a GP so i guess at least if everything kicks off whilst DH is away in London mid week he can deliver hte baby!! Imagine that, erm no, I think I will put that idea out of my head actually!

DTs are having a nap so am just enjoying a bit of quality sofa time before my bro and his wife turn up this afternoon - more people to help with the kids so I'm happy! DH has gone swimming so might just put my feet up now for half an hour before I have to go through the trauma of the DTs not wanting whatever I decide to give them for lunch!

Where is eveyrone today - have you all got families or something?

largeginandtonic · 11/11/2006 12:39

OOOOh i just lurve gin and tonics, i miss them so much when prg. I was going to change my name to orange juice when i found out i was prg but couldnt bear to lose the name. Im totally with you HM on wanting one!

Has anyone recommended Caullophyllum, a homeopathic remedy to induce labour? Beware though i gave to on friend who lived opposite me and an hour later the ambulance was outside, she had a rather speedy delivery. Another friend had her babt in the car park of the hosp and my ds#4 came in 40 mins. It doesnt put you in to labour if you are not ready but does tip you over if you are niggly, and it makes your contractions very efficient

Can be tricky to get hold of but if you struggle i have some and would send it to you. Obviously you have gone in to labour now and dont need it....

harrogatemum · 11/11/2006 12:59

jeez it sounds scary! Maybe I will wait a week and if nothing has happened will take you up on your offer!

Might have to have a glass of tonic just to get that sort of taste......its not the same though is it?

Whereabouts are you LG&T?

Kelly1978 · 11/11/2006 14:32

hm, what about pineapple, isn't that supposed to work? And raspberry leaf tea.
Not mentioning the 's' word at all, but I have known it to help things along a bit.

OP posts:
tracykb · 11/11/2006 20:11

My friend took some cod liver oil to help things along. She took it one evening and was in labour 12 hours later (although she did think it was wind at first . Apparently her midwife mentioned it, although did also say 'but I didn't tell you that!'. Might be worth a shot if you get desperate!

Someone else I know who went to 40+4 with her DTs was heard to say when sex was suggested to help things along 'it's an exit not an entrance at the moment' .

largeginandtonic · 11/11/2006 21:20

All quiet then HM perhaps you are in labour! Im in Portsmouth, alone on a saturday evening. Quite normal for me as Dh is away in the Navy, he got home for 5 nights last week as his course was close to home. It was lovely, ive only seen him for a weekend since 1st sept.

He is back in Dartmouth now and a i wont see him till Dec 8th, then i go through to Dartmouth for the ball. Im looking for a dress if anyone has one i could borrow/buy? Im a 10/12 and will be 19 weeks prg by then. It has to be mega posh, full length and transform me in to sexy, gorgeous goddess for one night Oh, and im short (well 5'4) Any help would be great, perhaps someone knows cinderella's fairy godmother?!

Overrun · 11/11/2006 21:25

Tracykb, that is an excellent quote, HM you must say it to some one
No news then?

harrogatemum · 12/11/2006 08:15

noooooooooooooooo still feel totally normal....................

Yawn..........

largeginandtonic · 12/11/2006 08:41

Never mind HM, when is your due date? Just plan lots of yummy lunches and days filled with nice things so that if you went in to labour you would actually be upset. Its bound to come then! Is it a boy or girl? What have you got already? Sorry am just being nosy...

Im due in may and already have 4 boys and 1 very lonely girl, she is deperate for this 1 to be a girl. I like boys though, but everyone expects me to want a girl, not sure they know my daughter that well...

How is everyone this fine sunday morning, i got a lie in till 7.30 and the nightmare 20mth old only got me up twice! I feel like a new woman, even made them pancakes for breakfast

harrogatemum · 12/11/2006 11:27

Due date is not until 24th so another 11 days yet but have had such a horrible pregnancy this time round that I want it to be over (been in hospital twice).

I already have two boys - the DTs are 2 tomorrow! Non-id and crazy. Luckily they are having a nap right now so I am just relaxing. I am concenred that I will go over with this pregnancy as I had to be induced at 39.5 weeks with the boys and if they didnt want to come out and there was two of them squashed in there, how likely is it that this one will want to make an appearance? Plus DH is away mid week in London so I dont want anything to happen during the week as I will be on my own and dont want to have the baby without him there! And it will take him at least 4 hours to get back..........

Enough of my whinging - whats everyone else up to today? I am ashamed to say I have not set foot outside the house since THursday.......isnt that awful!

frumpygrumpy · 12/11/2006 11:44

Have a gin, have a gin, have a gin, have a gin, have a gin, hve a gin, have a gin, have a gin, have a gin......

They're cooked now, you can't spoil them

frumpygrumpy · 12/11/2006 11:45

FG had too much gin obviously, THE BABY is cooked now, you can't spoil her/him

harrogatemum · 12/11/2006 11:47

FG - I cant - I have had three drinks this week already, a beer on Thursday, a beer on Friday and a glass of white wine last night!

The gin in my drinks cupboard hasnt been touched since last Xmas - how sad is that? And there are some Baileys minis in teh cupboard that I bought the morning I found out I was pregnant (I did the test at lunchtime - one of the minis has gone, but that went into a pudding!).

I am just writing my definitive shopping list for Xmas for food - even sadder than my gin story above!! This is what happens when you finish work too early and need to occupy your mind.

largeginandtonic · 12/11/2006 15:48

HM my dd who i had after the dts came the day before i was due! I felt very overdue though as the dts had come at 29 weeks, i assumed she would be early and would fit in the babygros the twins had worn home from the hosp. They were 4 1/2 lbs when they came home and dd was 7lb10oz, i thought she was a giant!!!

I say have a drink too, what harm can it do now! FG is right its cooked already.
