A new thread!
Especially for throckenholt

I was hoping the original one would go to 1000, but it was gettign a but annoying scrolling all the way done, so come over here instead.

How is everyone coping with the school holidays?

I'm fed up with the rubbish weather, as we're stuck in the house too much. I daren't take them to soft play as it packed during the hols and then I can't watch all four of them. Plus it costs a fortune.
Mine are changing so much. Rav is becoming a right wuss, scared of new places. I suppose it shows awareness, but it is annoying when I've driven miles for a nice day out and he just wants to sit and whine because he is too scared to go on anything! Shay is developing his houdini skills, and now has a tendancy to bolt out of parks so I have to watch him like a hawk. I must dig out the reins before we go on holiday.

God, I just can't keep up, and then experience anxiety about posting and missing someone out, so then I don't and the thread gets longer and longer...
Sorry to hear your news Tracykb, sorry to hear dt2 still unwell, will try and look at your other thread fg HM, really have got everything crossed for you. Hello Earlybird, Legol, largeginand tonic and every one else

earlysbird · 24/11/2006 20:19

LOL overrunnerbean, I know how you feel! Everytime I hit post message I remember someone I've missed out but I reckon we all know how it is so won't take offence, [hopeful emoticon]

tracykb · 24/11/2006 21:11

After a dreadful week I have actually had an all-right day . The bribery, sorry incentivisation, of DD1 worked and after a nice 40 winks, we all got up and did painting which, for a change, was fun and everyone had a good time without any tantrums - right through till bed time . I'm not expecting this to continue by the way, just pleased that one day out of 7 (or more) has been fun and has reminded me why I wanted children in the first place and why I do enjoy my life....

mars - will post a message on TAMBA and then send you a link. I don't post on there very much any more - was a real addict in my early DT days, but since I found you guys have defected over here instead. So hopefully I will get some info on your behalf.

Hi overrun and earlsbird - know what you mean about forgetting people .

MarsLady · 24/11/2006 21:15

I'm about to do the unthinkable!!

I'm going to bed! Well I will at 10. Just want to watch something that I've videoed! What are the odds that my client goes into labour just after I get my head down? lol

See you ladies tomorrow!

tracykb · 24/11/2006 22:14

mars - you've probably gone to bed now ...I'm right behind you. I've posted a query on TAMBA, and was going to do a link here, but it doesn't seem to work (probably my technological ineptitude), so if you let me have your e-mail address I'll send it to you.

harrogatemum · 25/11/2006 09:28

woooooh I had a show!! (dances around).

What does this mean then? (looks puzzled)

MArs - where are you oh doula friend??

MarsLady · 25/11/2006 09:29

I'm right here!

MarsLady · 25/11/2006 09:31

Now don't get too excited! This means that you are likely to go into labour any time between now and .................

the next 2 weeks.

Okay so that was mean. Soon baby doll, soon! Now. Continue on with your ordinary things. Stop putting your bum in the air. Rock on your birthing ball whilst sitting down. Sit forward on any chair or couch, not back!

harrogatemum · 25/11/2006 09:31

oooh good! Should I just be waiting for more signs? I am so excited, I screamed for HD to come and look, he was delighted! Is that gross?

MarsLady · 25/11/2006 09:31

tracykb... oh prolific poster lol! Lovelymarslady at aol dot com Ta babe!

MarsLady · 25/11/2006 09:33

No it's not gross. On another thread lulumama had someone sniff their pad to see if the water smelt sweet or like pee. Now that is gross!!!!!!! lol

Just continue about as normal. How's your back?

harrogatemum · 25/11/2006 09:47

back totally normal. No pain anywhere. So will just wait and see!!

MarsLady · 25/11/2006 09:48

Then continue on as normal and try not to think about it. I'm sure you'll have news for us soon. Don't clock watch. It'll slow you down.

harrogatemum · 25/11/2006 09:50

will do - baby not moved today yet though, although I guess it is only 9.50am!!

MarsLady · 25/11/2006 09:52

probably settling in to birthing position.

Will check in and out today. You have my mobi if you need me at all.

harrogatemum · 25/11/2006 16:00

huh, so much for the show. Nothing else happening! Been on the ball, been moving around a lot. Baby moving but no contractions! Looks like my antenatal appt on 30th might still be on.........

largeginandtonic · 25/11/2006 16:05

Oooooohhhhh am all excited for HM, lots of rest and good food to give you energy. Im on the other thread with NJ and the pad sniffing.....very funny. She has so much greeny show we are convinced it's actually a jelly baby up there

Hello everyone else, FG hope that your DT is feeling better and you have managed to get some sleep.

I have a question, my ds age 4 has just wet the bed 3 nights in arow after being pretty good for months. He said to me last night as i scrubbed in the dark "Thats why you should just put me in a nappy mum" So i got some today, am so fed up of it, he always soaks right through the bedding, duvet and all. I wait for him to trot in at night soaking wet. Between him bed wetting, ds #5 getting up 2-3 times a night and me getting up for a wee 2-3 times a night im bloody whacked. It seems an easy way out and painless, no?

Anyway back to HM, not excited or checking for news at all......

harrogatemum · 25/11/2006 16:31

I know - she's hilarious isnt she! I felt like there was something wrong with me for not having any show at all and now feel like one of the club on teh due nov thread!

MarsLady · 25/11/2006 16:39

Right.... been talking to my doula pals and some of them know several mums that have had twin births and an epidural is NOT anymore necessary in a twin birth than a singleton birth.

I do wish there were a way to do a poll that didn't involve me scrolling backwards and forwards... hey ho!

HM..... go jump him! You know you wanna! Maybe you and my client will give birth on the same day.

frumpygrumpy · 25/11/2006 16:39

Oh you go away for a minute and ........

No problem at all for me, re: forgetting to mention something, if its important I would post again and again til someone sat up and replied . Please don't anyone feel like they have to reply to everything (esp my posts, I talk lots ).

HM, wow, its happening honey. I wish you all the best with it and will be thinking of you xxx. I struggle to get to the pc on Sundays but I'll try my best. As Mars says, it could be a while after the show, however, it is beginning so its a good time to get the bag to the front door. I'm so excited for you actually and we've never even met!!

DT2 is definitely better and I had a great nights sleep last night (first in weeks). Was only up once with DD.

Largegin, my DD was still wearing pull ups at night until she was well over 4. She was completely dry, capable and confident through the day (and from fairly young) but not so at night. I had the DTs when she was 3.5 and so it ended up easier for me to keep her in them than struggle with night training and 2 lots of night feeds etc. I just let it run its natural course and one night, when life was easier, we just agreed to leave them off. We had the odd wet bed but it worked out in the end. Day nappies I'd be concerned about but night ones are not giving anyone a problem and in fact do the opposite, it gives you and he peace of mind. Go for it. You'll get more sleep, you'll feel happier, he'll be happier, everybody's happy. When life is tricky, always take the path of least resistance. Good luck, hope you get some sleep tonight.

I love our thread.

frumpygrumpy · 25/11/2006 16:42

HM I had a jelly show with DD. Was so shocked to be in labour I then got the runs and vomitted all in the same session .....wasn't funny at the time but now .

MarsLady · 25/11/2006 16:44

It wasn't shock honey... it was your system clearing out. Vomitting and the runs often happen just prior to labour. Lovely huh? lol

throckenholt · 25/11/2006 18:51

charleymouse is having a tough time with her twins - here - moral support needed I think.

harrogatemum · 25/11/2006 19:28

thanks throckenholt - have been over and posted.

harrogatemum · 26/11/2006 09:22

do you all have lives or something? Where is everyone!
