hope everyone had a good celebration this weekend. us? the closest celebration i got to was speaking to my family on new year's eve and hearing about their reunion dinner

tuesday the 5th is very for me!!!

It's a date then! Dim sum at 12 pm on Tue 5th Dec at Ping Pong. Will you girls be bringing your dc? Wyls excepted of course. I'm probably be bringing dd. It'll depend on whether dh is working from home that day.

I'll try to get hold of t2bg to see if she can make it.

that sounds good to me!! Really looking forward to it. will have DD2 with me but hopefully she'll sleep and i think she likes dim sum (did the last time we took her). be beware she is vocal!!

will need to leave at 2.30pm to get back in time to collect dd1 from nursery.

i've just had a look at the website and wondered if we should book and check they have highchairs and enough room for some buggies....

i can call them tomorrow and then post ...

I don't think you can book so I was planning to get there for 12 sharp for when they open. It's a good idea to ring ahead and find out about highchairs and buggy space though.

Let us know what they say.

Count me in! I'll be bringing DD but have a booster seat for her if no highchairs available. Will need somewhere to leave the buggy though.

On a totally different note, does anyone know what happened at the meeting to decide the fate of oriental city? I have only been once but would be sad to see it go!

Maybe we could meet at the science musuem one morning? Mornings are always easier for me!

I can't beleive there is a chinese shop and school in southend. DO you know where the chinese shop is in southend? I'm dying to get some chinese packet noodles! It would be good to meet up locally. Hi Champ, the chinese shop is down York Road the road next to the main bus station. The chinese cafe is on the same road and it's called Wing kee. The shop is called Kim Kwon i think.

There is a house for sale 2 doors down from me. And the station is 5 mins walk. It's featured in rightmove.co.uk.

Snowmum, it's a shame that i wont have ds with me on the 5th Dec. It would have been nice for them to meet ... we could even arrange their marriage in advance!!! Ha ha

tringtobegood, I think they are going to redevelop oriental city into flats, how sad i mean who would want to live there cos there is nothing there apart from a burger king, an asda and car dealer, that's it. I go there at least once a month to shop and meet friends so i will be totally lost without it.

so called Ping Pong today - they only have 2 highchairs, there is an unattended cloakroom for folded buggies and they do not have chairs with backs (for booster seats), only stools really. the food does sound good though.

wlys - tah for that, they said they would make space for oriental city but I think the developers know most of the businesses cannot wait 2 years for it all to be rebuilt so it will never happen - it is terrible the way developers can just destoy communities for the sake of profit.

Wyls, ROFL! Sorry ur too late, we have already picked DD's future husband - the little boy who plays the CEO in the Triple Velvet bog roll ads!!!

Re our meet up at Ping Pong - I think it should be ok. I think we are meeting at 12, when they open so hopefully we can bag both highchairs! I can always feed DD on my lap if we don't. Besides it sounds more relaxed than the usual dim sum places where you are expected to eat your fill and leave! We should be able to linger over our jasmine tea.

Sorry you can't make it T2bg. Shall we aim for a local meet up - say somewhere in Kew or Chiswick?

I'll sit dd on my lap and I'll be there extra early to bag the highchairs!! . Dd won't sit in a highchair for long anyway. She's too fidgety so I'll probably won't be able to stay more than an hour or an hour and a half.

Just spotted the West London day-time meet and can't make it! Too many West Lon forums to keep track of!! Never mind. Should be good and get Xmas sorted, not my social life!

Hi girls, just want to let you know i have just been to ping pong at newman street for lunch. The food is nice but they dont do big rice/noodles dishes. There is also a 12.5% service charge. i just want to let you know that's all.

Yes, I did find out about the 12.5% service charge on their website and was going to make a mental note not to tip on top of that.

I think it's a good idea to exchange mobile numbers.
