Hi wyls and autumnlover,
I've CATed you my mobile. See you tomorrow at 12 pm.

Snowmum,
I'm not sure if your broadband has been fixed. I'll text you.

autumnlover · 04/12/2006 21:14

Hi Mellow

havent got yr CAT yet unfortunately. not sure whats happening there.

However bad news girls, i cant make it. my friend who was going to look after DD1 in the am before nursery is unfortunately very very sick and now i'll be looking after her DD in the am! I am completely gutted and dissappointed as i was really looking forward to this.

So many apologies and have a drink on me. maybe next year?!?!?!

mellowchristmas · 05/12/2006 09:09

Hi Autumnlover,

That's a shame. Unfortunately, wyls won't be able to make it either. I guess we'll have to cancel. I think Snowmum still hasn't had her Internet connection fixed. I'll give her a call.

We'll try again next year!

autumnlover · 05/12/2006 16:26

I'm sorry mellow - i know you put alot of effort into making this meet up happen .

what are everyone's plans over the xmas & new year period??? i'm in london and dh has got the whole week off so we could try and meet up on the wednesday, thursday or saturday. i'm up for it if anyone else is ... and i wont have the dds which might be nice!!!

anyone know why my 17mth old has decided that she wants company in the middle of the night after sleeping through?!?!?!?!

trying2bgood · 05/12/2006 22:43

Hello all,

those of you who know me from the west london thread, know that I am rubbish at keeping up with threads so have no clue what has been going on but hope to meet you guys in 2007!

Autumn, it could just be that she is having a bout of separation anxiety or even that something has scared her. dd1 got a fright when she first encountered fireworks at 18 months, and it took 3 weeks to get her back to sleeping through! We had to do cc in the end after 2 weeks of sleeping on her floor! Neither was nice. So good luck and am hoping it is just a quick phase she is going through.

mellowchristmas · 06/12/2006 09:48

Don't worry autumn. The weather was really horrible yesterday so I was quite glad that I didn't have to leave the house.

I'm up for meeting up over the Christmas/NY break. Maybe we can try to have dim sum at the same place.

I spoke to Snowmum yesterday and she's still having broadband problems. Let's see if she's up for meeting up then.

I just love these festive smileys.

autumnlover · 06/12/2006 20:39

would definitely love to meet up during the xmas/ny period

thanks t2bg, its reassuring to know that it probably is just a phase. its just exhausting and she is so much louder than she was 6 mths ago so letting her cry is much harder.

I have justed signed up to mumsnet and was reading through the threads and came across this one. Anybody here use a foreign nanny/housekeeper and how much do they cost? I've looked at nanny.co.uk for a guide and they are very expensive but was wondering if a foreign one was any cheaper. Considering that the maids in HK are so cheap, is there something similar in UK?

wyls · 07/12/2006 10:04

Welcome Lilmissnoodles and MomOnTheRun.

MomOnTheRun, I dont think there isnt anything similar in the UK. Nanny is the closest thing to a maid in HK but with a price. My mum told me that you can get an older chinese lady helper through some chinese community but to be honest i wouldnt know where to start so I cant suggest anything.

My DS goes to the nursery 3 days a week and my mum looks after him 2 days as i am back to work full time (mainly from home).

Btw, so sorry about Tues, I had to go to this stupid meeting so ... it's a shame that the meet was cancelled but we must try to meet in the new year.

Autumn, hope your dd is sleeping ok now. I am afriad i cant help you as my DS rarely sleeps through the night and he's almost 18 months. There is always something, illnesses, teething, tummy pain, too cold, too hot, hunger, overtired ... i dont know i just cant get it right!!!

wyls · 07/12/2006 10:05

btw, shall we start a new thread again as this one is getting long?

trying2bgood · 07/12/2006 14:33

Welcome Lilmissnoodles and MomOnTheRun.

MomOnTheRun - sorry cannot help in relation to nanny/help front. Alot of mums I know who do have help normally have au pairs which works out a lot cheaper. Good luck.

Wlys - yes probably do need another one!

MomOnTheRun · 08/12/2006 05:48

Lily, I have a 3 year old son that watched TV and picked up English only. DH speaks little english so got rid of the cable receiver and now whole family only watches chinese programs downloaded from the net.

My son was speaking chinese in a month's time. On the bad side he is copying all the phrases from cartoons, so it's quite funny.

I miss some of the entertainment on TV so I am tempted to get SKY installed. Just haven't got round in doing it.

mellowchristmas · 08/12/2006 09:12

Welcome lily and momontherun,

Whereabouts are you?

wyls · 08/12/2006 11:35

Thanks

Wyls
