Please JT, no need to apologise at all. I should have shut up! Have you thought about the samaritans if you feel this isn't enough for you? You can email them as well as phone, which might be helpful for when and if you feel really awful. Their website is here click on the need someone to talk to icon and it gives you the option to email {{{{{{{{hugs to you}}}}}}}}

Also sending hugs JT,hang on in there ,you are doing so well .

bossykate · 28/05/2005 22:38

fwiw, jt, i think your response, i.e. not wanting to have any man near you, is a perfectly rational and logical respose to your experience.

it may well be that in time you might find one of the many wonderful men out there. but imho, you wouldn't be human if you doubted that right now.

imho, that's where a counsellor could be of real value - helping you to make the journey from where you are now to a future where you could envisage an equal, loving, non exploitative relationship.

sorry, i'm not a counsellor, just my 2c.

Ohhh, I can proper help with this one. Yes it will be the antibiotics. I advice taking a prebiotic drink while you finish you course and for a while after to try and encourage some of your natural gut flora. Natural yoghurt can be applied to the area (has to be with live bacteria). I usually say dip a tampon in (the yoghurt and insert it), if you are able great, but I would be careful with how you are down there. It is wonderfully cooling and soothing. I would treat it now though hopefully before it gets any worse. Just try the cream (canesten) to start with, but I would talk to the GP about using the pessary. Or maybe give the oral dose a go. Thats a good idea. Trying 'living free' for a while if poss. Yes, try the oral tablet and the cream (can buy over the counter) and if still not cleared up go to GP and ask about using a pessary. I hope this makes sense! xxxx

JT sorry you obviously had such a bad night. Hope you are feeling a bit better this morning. x Try and get out to get the stuff, best to stop it in its tracks. It will also be caused by you being so run down. xxxx

I've just read this thread and cannot believe how common this seems to be - a massive hug to all you ladies out there who have come out the other side - JT, you might not think so at the moment but to a complete stranger, your strength is enormous; you should feel so proud of yourself. You seem to have a fantastic friend in iamyourfriend

I sincerely hope that bastard gets what he deserves!!!!!!!!!!!

Thinking of you and sending you all my positive vibes xxxxxxxxxxxxxx

Jt I phoned rape crisis a few weeks ago(after 20 years I am a bit of a slow starter!), I did not speak to anyone at the time and think it would have been better if I had.
Phone them they are really good and you will need someone to talk to who does not know you but understands what you have been through. Even just knowing that how you are feeling is "normal" is great to hear , also they know the procedures etc. Hth Am thinking of you.
