Is there a new thread yet? I can't find one?

@Gatekeeper @ZetaPuppis that's so rubbish that they can't reset it for you 😢

MerLOWnomore · 22/03/2024 11:02

Does anyone know why A*ppen's (not sure if we're allowed to say it on here) contributor page no longer exists.

Also, I'm still a bit baffled about DA. Registered months ago and got an automatic fail by the sounds of it. I didn't even take the initial assessments, so still very confused. I did take an initial test, but I don't think it was the assessmemt described on here - it seemed I was automatically screened out as there is no way a human could possibly have reviewed it.

I've seen it advertised on Indeed recently and am just wondering if it's worth applying via that or not?

rhij86 · 22/03/2024 13:29

@MerLOWnomore if the link on indeed takes you to a different registration/sign up link I can't see the harm in trying again?

rhij86 · 22/03/2024 13:40

For those who have access to peel spuds but who aren't actively pursuing it at the moment... are you doing the minimum each month to keep your account active just to ensure it remains there as an option, or have you just packed it in?

pinkysmum · 22/03/2024 17:39

Just want to say thanks to this post. I signed up to DA a few weeks ago and I'm currently on $367 made in 10 days. I intend to try and do a couple of hours a day which should bring me in an extra £600 a month. I'm mainly doing the chatbot stuff.
I think I may have been lucky as I had no problem getting on. Signed up, saw the qualifications within a day or 2 which I did immediately and I must have passed as a project appeared. More projects have appeared but they come and go - all chatbot related so far.

I am also on Prolific. I made £87 on that last month and looks like it will be similar this month. I am on my laptop a lot though, and I added the Chrome extension so I get beeps when new surveys come up. You have to be quick though to get them.
I tried to get my son on this recently and he still hasn't had an invite, so this may be harder to get on.

I also tried userlytics and made 23 euros this month. They are good money for what you do but don't come up that often. It is mainly website testing.

Another site I use is trymyui or trymata (2 sites but same thing). Same kind of things as userlytics but lower paid. Not done much on that but I keep an eye on it.

Thanks for the suggestions. This could make a big difference to me as I'm trying to phase out my main self employed business (ironing). Making 15 quid per hour talking to chatbots is better than 13 quid ironing, and it doesn't cost me electricity and petrol.

BecauseOfIndia · 23/03/2024 08:16

@rhij86 I've packed it in. I found it almost impossible to do the minimum as the content was so low at the times I logged in. Was making on average £3 an hour towards the end, which is just not sustainable. It used to be my sole income!

@pinkysmum Welcome and so great deal to hear the difference this thread has made to you. I stumbled upon it a few years ago and it was a total game changer for me. Opportunities tend to come and go but as long as we all share those we find it really works.

rhij86 · 23/03/2024 08:24

@BecauseOfIndia I was thinking of doing the same but panicking a bit that DA won’t last… having said that I’d only made £50 from October to the end of Feb so there is just zero motivation to even log in any more.

In contrast I got my first project on DA on the 9th and have made just over $500 since then. No contest really!

BecauseOfIndia · 23/03/2024 08:46

@rhij86 Same! Once I'd started earning good money with DA I just couldn't do Crisp any more. Not just the terrible pay but the terrible attitude towards their workers too.

I think as long as you do your best to be diligent with DA you'll be fine. I was sceptical at first because of the number of people on other forums who said they had been dumped without warning. I've been on it since November and the number of projects just gets bigger, as does the rate of pay. I suspect those people who got kicked out weren't putting the effort in!

namechangeaaargh · 01/04/2024 22:38

Hi, does anyone here do LifePoints? I've tried to redeem both a Paypal reward and one of the gift cards and kept getting an error so raised a ticket with them. There was a bit of back and forth but they have now said that they are unable to help me. Just want to check whether any one else has experienced this before I sack it off and leave them a snotty review on Trustpilot?

Gatekeeper · 03/04/2024 20:18

ZetaPuppis · 16/03/2024 12:37

Congrats to DA people. I'm still gutted my test crashed and there's nothing I can do about it.
Oh well. I've got a Neevo email this morning with a transcription task so I'll check that out in a bit.

@ZetaPuppis I've pm'ed you

YonderTweek · 03/04/2024 22:16

I just realised it's a new month and I was doing my monthly earnings (something I haven't really done for some time...), and I was amazed to find that I had made just over £1500. It was all on DA and Prolific, and I don't even feel like I've worked my ass off either. I mean, I have, but not like every waking hour like I used to with Potato. Yay. :)

Obvs it's the long holidays and I'll get less done because the DC are home, but hopefully I'll still make some this month. Here's to a (hopefully) successful April!

ruralwanderer · 04/04/2024 06:29

Wow that is fantastic, well done @YonderTweek 😁🎉

YonderTweek · 04/04/2024 08:10

Thanks @ruralwanderer . 😃I'm so happy I'm earning some actual money again. It makes a massive difference. I'm naturally keeping an eye out for other opportunities because this can't last much longer. Haha.

All I want now is a good May on A**r. I miss getting good stuff in the post!

rhij86 · 04/04/2024 12:57

@YonderTweek well done that's amazing!

I started getting projects through around the 10th and made just shy of £500 in March. That's also including a long weekend away, a week with the DC at home and lots of marking deadlines in the day job. I will have much more time to devote to DA in April so I'm looking forward to this month's totals!

Thanks to everyone who put me on to DA and for the advice around getting started!

HTruffle · 05/04/2024 15:08

I have done the test for DA following all the recommendations on here but it just seems to be stuck at the reviewing stage! Frustrating as I’ve got the time to get going with it if I could! Following for further recommendations of anything similar - if anyone has any suggestions that would be great.

Same, I didn't get a rejection but also no acceptance so I guess that means I didn't pass as it's been a few months now. Gutted as there doesn't seem to be anything else out there at the moment.

trekking1 · 06/04/2024 23:16

I don't think I passed DA as well as I applied weeks ago and heard nothing. It's frustrating because I was really proud of the octopus story I wrote, I thought it was clever and funny lol.

SlurpSlooChortle · 07/04/2024 16:00

@trekking1
Genuinely felt I was going to be offered a book deal off the back of my Octopus story Grin

Can I ask a question about Prolific please? From what I gather, it's a survey site? Do you end up sharing personal data and opinions?

In the main it’s academic research. You do complete questionnaires but they don’t take any personal data like name/address etc. I’ve been doing it for years and really enjoy it.

ZetaPuppis · 08/04/2024 18:40

Thanks @MissIndecisive2023 and @sorrynotathome
I was going to suggest it to my student ds

Does anyone do any work for RWS group? I came across them and they seem to be similar to Appen for rater work.
They also have train aI community.
They seem legit but I haven't checked them out yet.

Just been pointed to this thread by another MNer, hi everyone <waves>

I've just spent a couple of hours going through one of the old £10 a day threads, signing up to things and applying for research - hopefully some of it will come through!

Any tips on where best to start gratefully received!
