Just as title says really. I have not put the heating on so far. Just wondering its not my mindset that's actually preventing me or making me feel i dont need it.

No, it's currently 18 degrees in my sitting room. When I switch it from 'off' to 'auto' then it is set to 16 degrees so wouldn't have clicked on anyway.

wejammin · 06/10/2022 19:53

Yes because the tumble drier has stopped working and since the day it broke it's rained every day - I have 3 kids to wash and dry uniforms for. Sod's law! And it was 2 days after the warranty expired 😔.

Iflyaway · 06/10/2022 19:53

No.

And will not till the winter comes on.

Have blankets for now.

Malfi · 06/10/2022 19:53

It’s still quite warm where I am, so no.

orangeisthenewpuce · 06/10/2022 19:54

No. Don't feel the need for it. House is currently 18 degrees. It's 14 degrees outside.

RovenderKitt · 06/10/2022 19:54

No - just thinking about having an ice cream because I’m too hot (SW)

Blueberrycreampie · 06/10/2022 19:55

No but only cos it's mild. If I was still in my native Scotland, maybe I would put it on as I hate being cold. Here is SE England it's been a lovely, sunny day!

PinkSyCo · 06/10/2022 19:59

No it’s nowhere near cold enough where I live.

thisismyusernamee · 06/10/2022 19:59

Yes it's been on a few times this past week we're in Scotland and it's already freezing!

@wejammin

They should still honour that!

@freesoul12 no. I'm central SE & haven't needed it yet. It was damp & miserable out the other day so I was tempted for a cisy feeling.

but put a very cosy cardi on instead. Too hot very quickly🙄

some mornings are a bit chilly but I just remind myself it's warm under the water & that if I get dried & dressed quickly, no faffing, then I stay warm.

I don't like it on in the mornings really as I get too warm too quick, the radiators filling wakes me up, then I go to work & it feels like a waste!

im here in just thin leggings& a tshirt. Windows upended front, back & bedrooms.

Maireas · 06/10/2022 20:01

Yes, we've got it on, but we live in Yorkshire and it's chilly. I don't like being uncomfortable at home.

Hollyhead · 06/10/2022 20:02

No it’s 19.5 in the house still without it. think we’ll be able to hold on for a few more weeks especially if it’s dry so can dry clothes outside.

Friolero · 06/10/2022 20:02

Yes, we've had it on for about a week now, for 1.5 hours in the morning and 2 hrs in the evening. Our house is very old and gets very cold, so have been wearing extra layers during the day when the hearing's off.

tea1tea2 · 06/10/2022 20:03

I dont remember exactly when in the past i turned the heating on , i mean in terms of month.
I am mum of three young children, I just wanted to make sure I am not being tight or developed a different mindset.
I think it will be good idea for me to get room thermometer.
I live in Shropshire town. So by the looks of all the answers its not just needed yet.

twistyizzy · 06/10/2022 20:06

Nope. Live up North, just below Scotland and definitely not cold enough yet. Trying to hold out until 1st November and if it starts this mild then I'm hopeful of achieveing that.

LegsLikeParsnips · 06/10/2022 20:06

Not yet. Hopefully will hold out til November. I wfh though and have had a plug in radiator in my office which warms the room beautifully. On colder evenings I get under blankets on the sofa and a bedspread over my duvet. It's much milder this week again though so no extra layers needed.

noscoobydoodle · 06/10/2022 20:07

I turned my heating 'on' 1st October- set to a couple of hours in the morning and a couple of hours in the evening if it drops below 19 but it hasn't actually been on yet because it's been so mild!

DeathMetalMum · 06/10/2022 20:11

One evening last week for about an hour as it felt cold and dd1 was not feeling well (bad sore throat). Not since, living room is currently showing 20°c. I felt cold during the day earlier in the week I just put an extra blanket on while I was doing some work on the laptop.

Hoping to hold out as long as we can. We have a dehumidifier so it helps with the damp feeling and drying washing.

coldcaff · 06/10/2022 20:14

Not yet. It's feeling a little chilly when I first get up in the morning but as soon as you're dressed and moving about it's fine. I know if we had the heating on, I'd be sweating once I'm rushing about getting everyone else up and sorted!

Happydays321 · 06/10/2022 20:19

Mines been on a couple of weeks for an hour or so in the evening, the thermostat is at 19.

DialsMavis · 06/10/2022 20:21

Nope, it was 20c in my living room today and it is 19c now, so need yet thank goodness.

Sleepingbadger · 06/10/2022 20:26

Yes - just half an hour here and there (have needed to some times for wet washing).

OxanaVorontsova · 06/10/2022 20:31

yes, in NE it has been on for half an hour as we get up and then from the time we get in, thermostat set at 18C

LuluBlakey1 · 06/10/2022 20:36

No not yet. It has been cold enough just once and we put one of the woodburners on in the evening for a couple of hours. Apart from that it's been quite warm still. I'm hoping we can get to half-term.
It hasn't been on since the end of March.
I'm still drying washing outside or putting it in the sunny spare bedroom on a clothes airer.

ErinAoife · 06/10/2022 20:37

No I don't find it cold even in the evening so heating not on.
