Happy September 10-a-day'ers! Can you believe we're in September already? I don't know about you lot but I've started to think about whispers Christmas... so really going to be plugging away this month to earn a bit for that!

For anyone new to the threads, I've posted the usual list of links below - start here, and ask as many questions as you need. We'll help where we can!

Micro tasks / Moderation work – generally the biggest earners.

@Chellebelle1202 same! Wasn’t sure if it was just me! I was accepted on but there are no tasks on the app.

I've just been looking at the guidelines... it says to login to the app using the project number and pin that is provided in the invite email.... an email which I don't have. Might send them an email

swiftt · 16/09/2021 10:56

@TheresALight how frustrating!

ruralwanderer · 16/09/2021 11:04

@rhij86, I get paid by bank transfer and there are no fees. I've heard it takes a bit longer than Paypal but I'm usually paid pretty quickly.

@Geamhradh, I suspect you did everything perfectly - sometimes there just isn't as much content as they expected so even though you're on a shift you still have to wait occasionally. The shift bonus helps when that happens though! :)

JLbaby · 16/09/2021 11:39

@Chellebelle1202 yes I did wonder what that meant! Although I’m sure it said on there somewhere you’ll get an email invite and it may be delayed so that’s why I’ve waited. Let me know what they say if you get a response.

@onemouseplace

I was in central London yesterday and had a spare couple of hours so had a quick look at the Ap* S*P**t but couldn't work out if I had to do all the spots in a polygon in the 12 hours or not, so didn't bother. Plus some were just stupid (one is the Members Cafe in the NHM which you can't get into the building at all without a ticket at the moment). And they are really badly laid out - they should be in smaller polygons.
@onemouseplace Thank you so much for commenting. I feel less alone now! Yes, as far as I can tell, we're required to do all the jobs in the whole polygon in order to get paid, unless I've missed something. Actually I don't think there should be any polygons at all, and they should let people choose individual jobs. The polygon I chose was in the suburbs and the locations just didn't match up with tube and bus routes. It was so anti-intuitive. I won't be bothering again.
Adelais · 16/09/2021 11:53

So I failed the po**le exam but the funny thing is I already do this project under a different name on a different site (oneforma). The work available on the other site is quite sporadic so thought I’d see if there was more work via Appen but never mind.

Can anyone help with Clickworker please? I signed up a few months ago, and my account was instantly banned for no reason. I sent several emails and they never replied. Then I found a contact form on their website and used that, and they finally replied and said it was suspended because they were suspicious of me for some reason, I have no idea why. They said I needed to send them photo ID and stuff. So if I replied to the email, can anyone here say if they might actually reply? There are comments all over the internet that it's very difficult to get any communication out of them.

onemouseplace · 16/09/2021 12:11

@curdsandwhey agreed - my local one is over 3 separate sub-areas and I just haven't had the time to do all 3 in one day so haven't bothered. And neither has anyone else!

I'm on Project n*le now, but think I've messed up and done today's work but won't get paid for it. I got an email saying I needed to pass the test, so I did the practice questions, got feedback and then heard nothing else until I got an email today saying I'd not done enough ratings. So I did today's batch, but have just realised I won't get the 5 minimum batches for the work week, so it was all a bit pointless. I've logged it on the invoice anyway.

I was suspended for multiple accounts (I'd signed up years ago and forgotten about it) and I got a response within a week.

@Chellebelle1202

Is anyone on milw**ke? I was accepted onto the project a while ago but not had any work yet?
I've done this job, albeit ages ago.

You'll probably just get a "you didn't do your 5 days this week, if you don't want to continue, let us know"

Bloody loved bloody N*Le. Happy days.

Hello, quick tax question here, if anyone can give me the headsup.
I do surveys,CW et al and earn about £120 a month.

I also have no other personal so im way within my tax allowance.

Do I have to register for tax because im over £1000/yr ?
I say i do ,even if i dont pay , but my H says i dont.
is anyone else in the same circ. what do you do?

rhij86 · 17/09/2021 19:44

Anyone else just been unexpectedly added to riv pro??

AppleJane · 18/09/2021 07:06

@Fiftysix it's always best to ask an accountant about your own personal circumstances but my understanding is that if you go over the £1k you should complete a tax return (even if you don't owe tax) And then there's voluntary NI to consider. Try to get some advice Smile

Catatemyhomework · 18/09/2021 08:27

@rhij86, I have been added to Riv Pro. Can't believe it! Hope I don't fail the first test! 😊

@Fiftysix. I think you should register for tax. I put everything on my tax return but I also have a job which I have to fill in a tax return for.

It’ll be really easy to do and keep everything above board.

Can I ask what survey sites you use? I earn a similar amount in a month from survey sites and am always looking for new ideas.

Fiftysix · 18/09/2021 10:21

Thank you AppleJane and TheSunIsShiningToday.
i think you're right, i will register, even though I'm no where near my limit. dealing online with official bodies always makes me feel like I'm travelling on a fast train,and scared ill miss my stop!
I use the sites like CW,prolific, intelizoom,ipsos,yougov, swagbucks and vypr/storewards/shopprize/streetbees. all of which are pinned on this site.

Me too despite getting 70% on the exam! I know I'm going to flunk the initial quiz. Please...no! Just read project guidance stuff, definitely check it out as it's got top tips about rating scenarios. @AnotherOne4 the emails were sent yesterday eve, you definitely didn't get it?

superpinkgirl · 18/09/2021 14:45

I just failed the Riv Pro test, I got 77% and needed 80% - gutted! Sad

Based on a number of us, that's probably enough to get on (I got 70%). I think they take an average from the test scores which seems to be below the stated required pass mark
