Earn £10/Day Marching into March

seizethecuttlefish · 01/03/2021 12:39

Welcome to the March thread everyone.

The idea of the thread is to earn a bit of extra cash. There are a few ways to do this. I'm sure some of our regulars can add to this. But here's some ideas.

www.connect.appen.com this is a site where you can sign up for micro projects and some longer term projects.
www. crispthinking.com social media moderation
www.lionbridge.com projects
www.utest.com user testing
www.prolific.co surveys
www.intellizom.com short one off tasks
www.clickworker.com short one off tasks

I'm sure I've forgotten loads. If you want to look over previous months, there are loads of pervious threads in this section.

No am email for me either, hopefully just running late but I didn't actually feel all that disappointed not receiving it. We shall see

IrritableBitchSyndrome · 02/03/2021 07:15

Still no Am for me. I really thought I would get an email as I was accepted onto the project and filled in availability etc etc etc. I was sure from previous emails I was accepted onto the March round. 🙄

minnimiss · 02/03/2021 07:34

It doesn't look like anyone has had Am** emails yet from reading chat so seems like a project delay.

Gatekeeper · 02/03/2021 07:37

No A**r for me either yah boo sucks. Other than that I had an ok month but not as good as January.

Redcrayons · 02/03/2021 07:39

@Mudandrain the £10 shifts are invite only. I’ve been on over a year and haven’t. I’m not very quick and I’ve had a couple of warnings so probably won’t be. The £2 shifts are open to anyone.

I signed up for Amur for the first time but haven’t heard anything back. Was quite looking forward to it from the posts on here.

YonderTweek · 02/03/2021 07:59

@AnotherOne4 I always query because I'm petty. Grin I had a couple missing from Feb and they have now added them. I still have one day missing from January so I will keep chasing out of principle. Haha.

Boo. I checked my rating tool a billion times last night and deliberately stayed up a bit later to see if I had been selected, but nothing's happening. Hope they sort it soon.

rhij86 · 02/03/2021 09:08

Does anyone know if there's a way to get rid/hide the projects that are now complete on my Appen dashboard?

AnotherOne4 · 02/03/2021 10:01

Thank-you to the people who helped me out with my Appen/FB queries. I will definately chase.

allMudandrain - I've been giving Qmee a go. Do their surveys ever pay out the amount they advertise for?

unicornpoopoop · 02/03/2021 14:19

I still can't login to appen. I managed to login in on my phone to do my invoice but nothings working now.

lannister · 02/03/2021 17:26

I also gave up Potato @Foxtrotalpha & @rhij86, it just wasn't worth my time & effort. Made about £450 from MB, £250 from app & £50 or so prolific so don't really miss it

Rad2016 · 02/03/2021 17:27

I am really frustrated with this Appen login issue. I have an assessment but can't do it and I keep getting reminders

sweetpotatopie12 · 02/03/2021 18:36

Sorry if this is the wrong place to put it but I do pick my postcode and never won anything but signed up to survey spotter. I haven't used it yet but is it any good?

I need to earn some extra money and fast, I'm off on bereavement leave at the moment as my mum passed away last month from covid. I'm not entitled to any help ( not that I'm asking for handouts) despite husband and I being band 2 nhs workers so I thought of doing something online.

Just want to know whether it's worth it

Thanks in advance

Graphista · 02/03/2021 19:18

I've dipped into these threads before and not taken it any further but I want to get my life more organised in a number of ways

So this post is partly placemarking but partly

Please help a newbie?

One of the reasons I haven't gone for this in the past is I currently only have an iPhone 7 and a fire tablet in the way of tech but I have the opportunity at the moment to purchase either a laptop or iPad through Currys or Argos (I'm limited to those retailers due to vouchers etc)

I am feeling very overwhelmed with the choices, I can't even decide between a laptop or iPad

Which is most useful for the type of activities on these threads - surveys, website testing etc ? What tech are you guys using that you find makes doing this stuff easier?

Be very interested to hear from anyone who has iPad and laptop and so a comparison?

This is something I'm very interested in doing but am procrastinating too much and not being brave and jumping in

On that note what would thread posters say is the best "intro" to this type of thing? Where's the best place to start?

Either way wishing you all lots of prosperity on this

AnotherOne4 · 02/03/2021 19:35

Graphista - I have an ipad and a laptop. I much prefer the laptop to do this kind of work, as it has a bigger screen and I find the mouse much quicker/easier to use.

AdaShelby · 02/03/2021 19:51

I have items on my Am##

bookgirl1982 · 02/03/2021 19:53

@AdaShelby me too, 8 this time. Waiting for the email before starting.

rhij86 · 02/03/2021 19:55

@Graphista I would go for a laptop as well personally, as AnotherOne4 says, I find being able to use a mouse for certain tasks a lot quicker and easier.

I started with prolific, and some of the other survey sites. Also check the sites like takepartinresearch daily and apply for anything you can. Apply for Appen and Crisp as soon as you can and keep checking Appen, it might take a while for you to get a project.

@sweetpotatopie12, I'm sorry for your loss. The quickest way to get some money is the survey sites as they payout fast, but you won't make big money. Start looking at things like Appen/Lionbridge too - it may take a while to get going on them, but if you land a good project you'll get a bigger return.

Good luck both Flowers

rhij86 · 02/03/2021 19:55

@lannister unless I get significantly quicker I'm not sure it will be worth my effort long term either, but while it's the only thing I've got going, I'll take what I can get Grin

DeegeeDee · 02/03/2021 19:59

Sweetpotatoepie, Graphista, the 3rd post down by @aceofspace posted.

Sign up to everything as some take longer to get going. Survey wise, Prolific is really good and pays out when you hit £5 onwards.

Will be daunting at first but do a quick sweep and sign up then go back and pick through a few at a time and see what suits you. And ask us questions, most have been doing this for a while and know answers. Don't worry about being slow for some, you honestly do get quicker. Good luck.

Oh, laptop seems to have more options but an iPhone also useful for some of them.

YonderTweek · 02/03/2021 20:14

Aaahhh I have products too! I better get the email now because I have F all else to do. Haha. My life is so boring atm that the monthly shopping spree cheers me up.

@Graphista I'd defo go for a laptop because you may well end up on a longer term project that requires typing (say transcription, data annotation etc), and I find that typing is a lot quicker on a laptop. I also like the option of having a mouse, especially one with the scroll thing, because some projects are timed (or just involve a lot of scrolling) and using a mouse with a scroll wheel makes all the difference. I would sign up with Crisp, Appen and/or Lionbridge and try and get a longer term project. It takes time but it's really worth it. In the meantime I would get on Qmee, Prolific and Intellizoom. Maybe even I-Say if you want vouchers. Good luck! Smile

@sweetpotatopie12 I'm so sorry for your loss. As a PP said, survey sites are the quickest, like Prolific and Qmee. I started off with Qmee and I was cashing £5 every couple of days, which was a good start for me. Smile I found getting onto Appen was the best one as they have loads of projects, and if you get onto a good one you can earn good money. It took me a couple of months to get my application sorted and to qualify for my first project, but once you have qualified for one, you'll get your account and can start applying for more tasks. You can also try Lionbridge but I found they have had less work and fewer projects recently. Some people swear by Teemwork but I haven't had much luck with them, but I guess it really depends on what's on offer when you sign up and start looking. I have probably forgotten loads but these are my main ones. Grin

Buster27 · 02/03/2021 20:40

Ooh I have 8 products showing, hoping for an email shortly..

seizethecuttlefish · 02/03/2021 21:03

I've got stuff showing too. Come on email! This is the most excitement I get.

My Appen login seems to have resolved itself. I had to log in yesterday incognito but today it's fine. I just really want more Bn and the like. They were a nice wee boost.

@Graphista definitely have a look at a laptop. You can always wait to see what you get on but anything will do. My current laptop is 8 years old and I need to get a new one but not idea what to get. Let me know what you get, might spur me on. I have an iPad but I hardly use it.

@sweetpotatopie12 so sorry about your mum. I started by signing up for everything. Most of my work at the moment is Appen and Crisp, which I do keep calling potato! I have some small bits and bobs to top it up. I love Intellizoom and make a steady amount there (about £30/mth), neevo is good but look out for pay rate it can be low. I just started prolific last week and I'm already at £15. No idea why I waiting so long.

@lannister well done on MB. I did the sign ups and called it quits. It's a nice tax free earner.

CrepuscularCritter · 02/03/2021 21:21

I have items showing on Am* too...looking forward to seeing what I get to purchase this month. Invoice deadline for Feb is tomorrow, so I will see what else they add, although I've raised a ticket for 2 items on one project where I have 2 other items authorised. There's no bonus showing so Am* reimbursement isn't loaded yet.

As far as tech for work is concerned, I'm on a three year old Lenovo laptop. Mine is quite light, as pre-pandemic I worked away from home a lot. I don't really need that lightness any more. Before that I had two Novatech laptops in succession and they were both great. I guess the main issue at the moment is not being able to try out keyboard "feel" before you buy. Although that may only matter if you do a lot of typing. I do around 70000 words a month, so a decent keypad really makes a difference to my fingers.

rhij86 · 02/03/2021 21:23

No Idea if I have anything on Am, first month I've given them my availability so no idea where to look 😄

Rad2016 · 02/03/2021 21:24

@Buster27 and those on p*ll*K on appen, any tips for the assessment? Second time I am going to take it, I hope I get it right this time
