Welcome to the March thread everyone.

The idea of the thread is to earn a bit of extra cash. There are a few ways to do this. I'm sure some of our regulars can add to this. But here's some ideas.

www.connect.appen.com this is a site where you can sign up for micro projects and some longer term projects.
www. crispthinking.com social media moderation
www.lionbridge.com projects
www.utest.com user testing
www.prolific.co surveys
www.intellizom.com short one off tasks
www.clickworker.com short one off tasks

I'm sure I've forgotten loads. If you want to look over previous months, there are loads of pervious threads in this section.

@PandemicPalava it’s two months and they always pay on time.

PandemicPalava · 29/03/2021 21:41

Brilliant, thank you, I was hoping it was 2

Heyha · 30/03/2021 13:09

Finally passed the Poll AU test and it doesn't bloody work from the dashboard 😬 will keep trying.
Pleased to say the Facebook survey auto-invoicing seems to be fixed!

seizethecuttlefish · 30/03/2021 13:20

@PandemicPalava I do some stuff for them. Not a regular project. I've just checked on work I completed in Jan. It's classed as a Feb invoice, so I'll be paid in April, apparently. As it's adhoc, it's not much so not too worried.

OP posts:
MarigoldMoonStone · 30/03/2021 13:42

@Heyha I think it’s coming to an end - there haven’t been any batches for a while!
Not sure why they have took on more people, as a lot of people in the chat have said they have emailed in and been told it’s ending soon so batches will be few and far between.

When you first start they email you to let you know there is a test batch available for you to do, then after that they email you again to say you can continue working.

Heyha · 30/03/2021 13:48

Ah, that's a bit of a nuisance after trying the test so many times 😂 oh well. Trying to get myself onto a nice substantial project- the search continues!

Junobug · 30/03/2021 14:02

I've finally been added to N**e. It's taken months. I've been added to the mobile platform as well. Is this easier than the desktop version?
It's my first proper project with them and I'm quite nervous.

MarigoldMoonStone · 30/03/2021 14:10

@heyha try to get on Frre**r ADAP..seems to have plenty on there just now

seizethecuttlefish · 30/03/2021 14:56

@Junobug I preferred it on mobile as I could just sit on my phone and didn't have to open the laptop.

OP posts:
Buster27 · 30/03/2021 15:20

@Junobug the mobile platform has never worked for me so I can't compare them, but I can do it quickly and easily on desktop. They've just updated the desktop version actually, you used to have to wait an hour to do the second part but now you can do it straight away. I did prefer the older version (maybe just because I was used to it though) but it's much better without the hour wait!

lannister · 30/03/2021 18:14

@Junobug congratulations on getting on N**e, it's my favourite project. I used to rate on mobile which I found far quicker than desktop as there were less questions, but the app stopped working for me one day & I now do desktop. It's still quick but I preferred the app.

redgirl1 · 30/03/2021 21:38

@Junobug I’m on n**e and I think it’s a great little project. I prefer the mobile tool, it only ever works once though and the next day I have to delete F book and reinstall which takes a couple of minutes at most. I also like using the microphone tool to record my comments.

Gatekeeper · 30/03/2021 21:44

Ohhh, I miss N**e. My earnings have gone right down to nearly nothing Sad

Gatekeeper · 30/03/2021 21:45

Passed Crisp over a year ago and still waiting

Catatemyhomework · 30/03/2021 22:48

@Gatekeeper, me too. I passed Crisp in October 2019 and still heard nothing.

rhij86 · 31/03/2021 10:26

@Catatemyhomework @Gatekeeper I passed in September 2019 and was contacted in November last year. Hopefully when they do their next big recruitment drive you'll both hear :)

Catatemyhomework · 31/03/2021 10:56

Thanks @rhij86, I'll keep my fingers crossed! 🤞
I have applied for the Maps Analyst role with LB today. Will see what happens. Applied last year but didn't proceed in the end as I was put off by the lengthy guidelines and exam. I have decided to bite the bullet and go for it again as I would love to have a permanent project with regular work.

PandemicPalava · 31/03/2021 11:12

Also waiting to see if I get to the exam stage on the map analyst project. Have heard the guidelines are lengthy. Fingers crossed! Really want to try and put the work in and pass it

AdaShelby · 31/03/2021 11:18

I think you're better off trying to get on Appen. Crisp have taken on too many people and it's barely worth logging in at the moment.

LimeJellyforBrains · 31/03/2021 11:39

Congratulations @Junobug! You might have "my" Ni** slot as my last day was Monday! Grin I dreaded being switched from desktop to mobile due to input speed (fat fingers) but found it was actually faster thanks to predictive text. I could write whole sentences by clicking a couple of letters then a few extra spacebar clicks!

I too passed the Crisp test in January last year and still nothing.

I'm getting seriously worried about money now that Ni** has finished for me, and today being told that For-ADAP has been paused while they catch up with the QA side. Sad

CocoPrivileges · 31/03/2021 12:05

I had the same email @LimeJellyforBrains Sad hoping it's only a minor glitch and the work will start up again soon. I've been doing that one for about an hour a day lately. Not mega bucks but it's a fairly painless way to earn an extra few quid.

whysotriggered · 31/03/2021 12:39

With regards to Crisp, I waited just over 18 months before I got on. It's nice to have this work but as others have mentioned, it's quiet and not a huge money-maker.

Tohaveandtohold · 31/03/2021 12:55

With crisp I also waited for almost 19 months and finally got on in November last year. I’ve been averaging £60 a month recently so not a great earner for me.
I’ve been on the LB SME role for a year and that has been a constant earner and the exam is not lengthy so it might be worth looking into. My contract ends in a week’s time so I really need something to else now

seizethecuttlefish · 31/03/2021 13:04

Just echoing what everyone said. This is normal workload on potato and they have massively recruited so there is hardly anything. What you might find is that people get fed up and go elsewhere. I started this nearly 2 years ago and it's so much quieter recently.

Just a wee reminder. It's good practice not to mention companies etc by name if you're discussing anything that could be confidential or not known by people who aren't working there. Just bear in mind that they do monitor social media from time to time and people have pointed out that things on the thread have fed back to them.

Gatekeeper · 31/03/2021 13:18

I've had an email inviting me to do the LB Map thingy...if anyone has done this already how hard is it?
