Welcome to the March thread everyone.

The idea of the thread is to earn a bit of extra cash. There are a few ways to do this. I'm sure some of our regulars can add to this. But here's some ideas.

Can anyone advise whether you have to have experience in copywriting to be given tasks on click worker? I've completed the assessment & passed ... when I was filling my profile in it seemed geared towards tick boxing areas of knowledge/interest in copywriting of which I have zero experience in. Absolutely no idea what I've signed up for here

Was it a bonus? If you've bought something that needs reimbursing they often do those ASAP as a bonus even if it takes a while for the TC to be approved. Enjoy!

I've withdrawn from my Appen hour a day project after finding it too frustrating (endless tool issues, small batches then being emailed to be told I hadn't worked sufficient days despite raising tickets against each issue to explain my lack of activity). Finally decided yesterday it wasn't worth the hassle for the meagre (after conversion) payment. I'll have to really buckle down on Crisp now though!

I've been invited to an Appen project for people based in London (like me!) but it doesn't appear on my list.

Appen seem to to sending emails left right and centre just lately. I also got an invite for the London one - I don't live there. I get repeated invites for another that is not listed when I check. I am being reminded constantly to do the FB surveys which I have already done.

@MrsWombat I've got Po*k and Good* despite having shown no interest in either.

They also appear to have stopped adding the FB surveys to the invoice, none added since flipping Jan

Has anyone been paid by potato this month yet? Submitted my invoice 11 days ago so thought I’d be paid by now.

@Adelais I was paid on Tuesday. They've only been late paying me once and I got an email a few days after everyone on here got paid saying they had disputed my invoice because I'd put the wrong date on it, but they paid it the same day I returned it with the correct date.
Drop them an email, they're good at responding.

Unexpected £35 in amazon vouchers for me. I had to do some online training for my ‘real’ job and they sent me some links for a couple of webinars about a different thing. I signed up and attended and they sent me two lots of vouchers afterwards. I didn’t even know that the vouchers were on offer! To be honest I only attended the second one to see if I’d get more.

Re Appen
Please could someone tell me when the work I have done this month (3 different projects Mng, Chy and Ha**y) are likely to appear in My Invoices? This is the first time I have done anything on Appen so I would appreciate your advice! They are all in the "automatically appear" category.

Thanks @lilmishap I’ve sent them an email. This is the second time I’ve had to chase them recently. I never had any problems when I first started a year ago and would get paid a few days later but now it seems to take longer to get paid or I have to chase them.

Those with the grooming tool! How's your refunds going? I was a bit concerned when I read on here that they weren't offering refunds anymore, but I have just got mine so I was pleasantly surprised.

I think I'll take a day off today. I've done 80 hours on Kx and I have finally run out of tasks. I may get back into Pllck seeing I passed the test batch, but I don't really fancy reading the guidelines bible and starting again. I think I have fried my brain. Haha.

Hi, I am new to Appen too - I have discovered you definitely do have to do the task on a different platform. On the task I did, the email I received inviting me to do it didn't take me anywhere and I had no clue what to do. I emailed back and got a very nice reply the next day with an explanation. Sorry I can't be anymore specific - hopefully someone else can!

With New* you usually get an FB link and you have to do the survey on FB. I think some people have had issues accessing and incognito mode has worked with those issues too. Worth a try?

There was another New* survey this week where you had to do it on ADAP but I think I did it too late because there were no tasks available. Usually it's all on FB.

I've had an email inviting to apply to an Online M*ps Qlty An*lyst on Lionbridge. Anyone doing this? I've not done anything on Lionbridge yet. I mostly do Appen.

Did the work begin with K and end with X? I got invited to it too and it wasn’t there. Did respond to say it wasn’t there, heard nothing back.

@Rad2016 I’ve been doing that since early last year. Definitely worth it, very reliable payment, always work available, good communication and though pay is task based hourly rate for me is generally at least £10 per hour when averaged over the month.

So i've been lurking around her since December but never got round to joining up. Can't tell you how grateful i am for this thread. We've got a chunk of debt we're not getting anywhere with and hopping this extra income will change all that.

So i signed up to probably just about everything, and applied for every project i was eligible for on Ap* and gradually things started to filter through by end of Jan/beginning of Feb.

On Apn was selected for the app version of Ar, and Bs (but thats been a bit of a pain due to the project stop/starting and delays with invoices). Also last weekend reluctantly, as everything else was a bit quiet, attempted the qualification for P***k and passed. Never done transcription before but my accuracy percentages have been above 90% so chuffed with that. I'm on the AU version but think its coming to an end as your lucky if you managed to get a batch of work at the minute. Done quite a few of the micro tasks as well, taking pictures, voice recording etc.

Also signed up to Intellizoom, Userbrain and Prolific and seem to have a steady stream coming in from them.

Applied for Crisp and Cloudworkers but not heard back yet. But i did come across Chat from home which seems like it is very similar to Cloudworkers. Finding it a hard slog as just can't type quick enough, but if i push myself i can get up to £10 a day on there, and they pay you weekly which is a bonus. I've just signed up to the free version of Typing Club to learn how to touch type which i'm hoping will help me eventually!

@Rad2016 ditto re the Lne project. Getting the test material next week but heard there's 200 pages of guidance to read through for the 2 part exam. But as a few of my A**n projects are quietening off, thought i'd give it a go anyway.

Trying to fit this all round a full time job (no kids) but wfh means i can do bits on my dinner hour, and time saved on commuting.

@Tinging how did you find the studying and exam? Any tips to prepare?
