Welcome to the March thread everyone.

The idea of the thread is to earn a bit of extra cash. There are a few ways to do this. I'm sure some of our regulars can add to this. But here's some ideas.

@Zancah, Intellizoom are excellent payers. They send payment through about 20 working days after you complete a task so you don't get paid in a batch, just in dribs and drabs, but it all adds up and I really enjoy their jobs 😁

Can anyone help? A while ago everyone seemed to have trouble logging into App3n. Well, I still can't get in - have tried a couple of browsers, but it just wont let me past the log-in page. Anyone have any ideas? Thanks!

@ihavenoplans Have you tried incognito mode? That worked for me. Then someone on here advised to clear all cookies by right clicking the little lock by the address bar and choosing cookies. I never knew you could do it like that but it worked.

YonderTweek Thank you so much - incognito seems to have worked.

Also getting multiple invites to K**x. Waiting to get started on the transcription work although really worried I will be too slow while I am getting my head around it. I think I might try to find somewhere I can practice a bit. I've done the training.

Glad incognito is working for login problems. The tip about the padlock in the search bar came from someone in chat once I finally got logged in. It was completely new to me, so I stashed it away for future reference.

@CrepuscularCritter where did you find the training for the transcription work? I've passed the tests for it but can't see any training, thanks

@Zancah I once went through six month's worth of Intellizoom tasks (and I do one most days!) and checked them all against my Paypal account - every single one of them had been paid! So now I don't bother checking, just assume the payment will made.

I really like Prolific though which has a lovely submissions page and shows you which tasks have been paid, very easy to keep track.

That is good to know, thank you! I've double checked and checked again they have the right PayPal email so I'll just sit tight.

Seems completely bonkers that there is no history or progress page to look at.

notgreenfingers I just went to the Academy. It's training for transcription rather than project specific. And if you are looking for the quiz, you need to scroll far right below the vid to access it. It took me a while to work that out; I clearly didn't have my brain in.

Just re-read your post, and if you've passed the tests, you've probably already seen that. I think a test batch will appear for you once they have work available.

I accessed the quiz through the 'my projects' page. Will have a look at Academy as this is my first Appen job so keen to get things right 🙂

@makinganavalon the screenshot one on Prolific shows for me everytime I log on- I don't think they can find people willing to do it!

Quick reminder as we near the end of the tax year: if there is anything you need to buy for your self employed work then do so now otherwise it will be a year before you get the tax benefit.

I've never applied for Pollock (Not keen on transcription work generally) and they've added it anyway. The test has appeared on my project list. Is it an ok project?

Appen invoicing question - one of my FB surveys hasn't been invoiced from last week. What do I do?

@anotherone4 they can take a while but if they have sent out an email saying everything uploaded then I would definitely send a ticket. This happened to me last week and I sent a ticket (contact us) then it appeared, on the wrong day but still worked out

@MrsWombat if you’re not keen on transcribing you probably won’t like it, it’s quite full on as you have to put time stamps in and each batch is at least 50 utterances. I like it, it’s good money...I only do a couple of hours here and there & I’ve made $200 this month from it so far.

@MarigoldMoonStone - Thanks. I've sent a ticket. So glad I keep a record of everything lol.

@MarigoldMoonStone maybe a silly question but do you have to be really fast at typing for the transcription jobs or is it more to do with accuracy?

Thank you. I did do an Appen transcription project last year. I didn't hate it but earned more money per hour doing other things. But everything else is quiet at the moment so might dip back in.

@notgreenfingers more to do with accuracy, obviously the slower you type the less you earn per hour. They it’s an hourly rate but it’s actually per utterance (about 5-20 words) and they do say they want a minimum amount from you but I don’t think they are overly strict on this, especially if accuracy is good. It’s sure worth a try!

It’s good because it’s quite consistent with having work to do :)
