Hi all, I've been following the thread and need some help deciding the best route to take. I've recently left work, only speak English so I'm not sure I have the skills for some of the links.

Azerothi · 05/08/2020 10:41

@lurkingattheback

All the links are for English speakers. I haven't come across any that need a foreign language. Give them a go :)

Azerothi · 05/08/2020 10:43

@Sirrah

Most of the big earners are not for tablets but there are some that are.

Sirrah · 05/08/2020 11:48

I think I'm going to try the matched betting to start, I have a desktop PC which I could use for anything that needed it, it just means I'll have to be disciplined enough to "go to work" every day!

Backtotrytenpoundsaday · 05/08/2020 12:21

I wish Prolific had loads of studies come up, I actually really enjoy them and could happily do them for hours and hours if there were only enough

ScorpioSphinxInACalicoDress · 05/08/2020 13:39

Some Appens ask for languages. I live in Italy so when there's a choice I plump for Italian figuring (probably wrongly) there'll be fewer people going for it

I enjoy Prolific- but yes, terribly hit and miss. £6 on Monday, nothing since.

I also agree with pp that you need to be fairly strict with yourself. My old laptop battery goes dead at 40 mins these days, so I go and sit on my balcony and do 40 mins Crisp. Etc.

I really only do those three: Prolific, Appen and Crisp. I signed up for everything last year but I spent so much time looking at stuff, applying for stuff, etc that I figured it best to limit myself. Those and my Etsy selling of bits and bobs.

Sonmi451 · 05/08/2020 16:16

I re-did the Crisp test and this time got 20/20 so I assume I'm on their waiting list now.

20 Cogs / YouGov / Prolific / Intellizoom / Clickworker all unavailable to IOM residents.

I applied for Lionbridge but I'm not sure I've picked the right options, it all looks very tech-y, and very language-y. The only thing that looked remotely suitable was Social Media Evaluator, does that sound right? I thought it was going to be surveys etc.

Going to work through a few more on the list today, if the kids will leave me alone long enough.

Gatekeeper · 05/08/2020 16:17

is there anyone on here that did the recent Neevo voices as an agent ? Just wondering when we get paid

lilmishap · 05/08/2020 16:42

@sonmi451 it all seems a bit techy and language-y at first. Trust us we all felt the same, you just have to dive in and have faith that it will 'click' sooner than you think.

lilmishap · 05/08/2020 16:43

@Gatekeeper when did you send the invoice to them?
I sent mine on Sunday and was paid Monday

Katiepants27 · 05/08/2020 16:54

Has anyone ever managed to do a test on Intellizoom? I've been screened out of every single one that I click on. V frustrating...

Gatekeeper · 05/08/2020 17:07

@lilmishap I sent mine a week ago

Horehound · 05/08/2020 20:36

@Gatekeeper do you mean sending the tracker of calls in? Otherwise we don't send invoices in on Neevo??

Gatekeeper · 05/08/2020 20:40

Yes to the tracker spreadsheet..not invoice. Went off week gone Sunday but heard nothing

wildnightswildnights · 05/08/2020 20:59

Has anyone had any luck with Way with Words? I have spent most of my evening doing their lengthy application process before being completely destroyed by the audio test. I have got woefully low scores for two attempts and literally don't know how it's possible to pass unless you are a mind reader. I only have one attempt left but I know it's futile.

Have also applied for Rev so hoping I'll have more luck with them,

Horehound · 05/08/2020 21:33

@Gatekeeper I got laid quite soon after but you may have missed the cut off so might be next week now.

@wildnightswildnights yep sthat was me two days ago, or even yesterday I can't remember now but I was shocked. O don't even know what I got wrong. First score 45% thought ok, I'll change what I did then got 35%! So changed again and got 55%
That's it they lock you out.
It's very annoying!

I think I did balls up the Brenda one.

Azerothi · 05/08/2020 22:09

@wildnightswildnights

I used to do Way with words about a year ago but then went to Rev who are better to work for although the money isn't any better.

Gatekeeper · 06/08/2020 05:59

Haha @Horehound , don't think I fancy getting laid by Neevo Grin

Gatekeeper · 06/08/2020 06:01

I failed Way with Words as well

Horehound · 06/08/2020 06:50

GrinGrin whoops!

Yeh, the way with words is bloody tricky.

Sonmi451 · 06/08/2020 08:52

@lilmishap Ah, ok, as long as I'm on the right track, I'll keep at it 🙂

@wildnightswildnights I passed Way With Words on my third attempt. I think I figured out that if it gives you the same clips you had before, it means you didn't get them right. I had a Google tab open to check terms that were unfamiliar. Incorrect spellings also count as a wrong answer - a lot of my clips were about osteoporosis, which I thought was spelled osteopErosis. That came up in three or four clips, so once I corrected that, I passed.

However, I then failed the offline submission. I'm not sure if I can re-take that, but I'm going to try, and see what happens.

I also want to try Rev, but don't have time or peace and quiet with the kids around.

WonderTweek · 06/08/2020 10:43

@katiepants27 I know what you mean. I get all excited when I get a new study but end up screened out like 75% of the time. Haha. But I get why they do it.

lilmishap · 06/08/2020 11:54

If you did the Neevo transcriptions on Clickworker check your account they've dished out bonuses?
Unexpected 50 dollars in mine

Carrotgirl87 · 06/08/2020 15:16

On clickworker what do you put in the 'tax number' box?

wildnightswildnights · 06/08/2020 19:36

@Sonmi451*@Horehound @Azerothi* Thanks for the WWW info. I actually saw a youtube video about the application process where the person, who was apparently an experienced transcriber, could not pass the offline assessment, so I'm not even sure I'm going to try. I got 25% then 35% (I know) so I don't even think I am going to proceed and will see what happens with Rev (who did say they had a waiting list anyway, but we'll see)

Slow few days for me, made $5 on an Intellizoom study and spent ages on an $8 one yesterday which wouldn't upload. Made a few bits here and there with Neevo and Clickworker but all in all fairly dry.
