I got 2.5 hours of Bane yesterday which wasn't too bad considering the kids were around. There is a small data set coming on Monday too. The small data set on Friday was 1000 items so it won't last long.

Sanityisaluxury · 16/08/2020 17:00

I’ve just started following this thread, my inbox has never been so full!

Didn’t pass crisp, haven’t done the test for Rev yet and am just doing surveys on prolific (it’s very quiet?) and oh my dosh, which is slow going. I tried 20 cogs but I think I’m doing it wrong! Keeps wanting me to sign up to online gambling sites?! Is that usual?

Horehound · 16/08/2020 21:04

Fuck sake I am so angry. I signed up for a £21 survey on prolific and said it would last 2.5 hours well fucking hell four hours later and I still haven't finished. Is anyone else doing it?

ScorpioSphinxInACalicoDress · 16/08/2020 21:35

@Mightymouse21, potato is Crisp. You apply on Crisp Thinking.

Horehound · 16/08/2020 22:15

Over five hours to complete. I have complained. Ffs.

margaritasbythesea · 17/08/2020 09:45

Sounds horrible horehound. I am glad you complained. Sometimes when you have put a couple of hours in, you feel you might as well finish but that is terrible.

WonderTweek · 17/08/2020 09:46

@Horehound Yikes, sounds like a bit of an operation. Did you get your reward though? I've never even seen a study worth that much on Prolific! Mine have been really low paying recently, although still interesting.

Horehound · 17/08/2020 09:52

I haven't had it approved yet...omg they blooming better! I did it as well as I could and it was a pretty boring one about pairing words, making up metaphors and picking shapes following a sequence.
Honestly I was so angry I actually sent her three messages about it. She replied to say "Hi

For this data collection session, we have 80% of the responses we need so far. People took between

ScorpioSphinxInACalicoDress · 17/08/2020 12:06

I have complained about a few recently. A camera one which took ages and had ridiculous parameters, and then the researcher rejected my submission saying I hadn't put my prolific ID in (I had the tab open still saying it was automatically done) she then PMd me to say that wasn't the reason it was because I hadn't made a final decision on one of the bloody cameras. I reported her, told her I was doing so and lo and behold got my £6.
Another biggie- about £12 had me do the whole thing then rejected me for not being in the UK. I've reported him as well. Fair enough but the screening should be before you've done half an hour of boring shite not after.

WonderTweek · 17/08/2020 14:11

Not really related but whilst we're on Prolific. I often have the main site open on my laptop so I can keep an eye on any new studies. My 3yo son has worked out that it's something important because the other day he looked really excited and just kept pointing at the laptop and there was a new study available. Grin I had completely missed it so I was pleased to have my little helper looking out for me. Haha.

ScorpioSphinxInACalicoDress · 17/08/2020 14:27

Excellent!

Mrsm010918 · 17/08/2020 14:43

Absolutely report that @Horehound, thats false advertising at best and conning people.

Neevo seem to be paying out this week for July's completed tasks, and most of mine seen to be coming up good. One that I got kicked off of after 136 tasks I got paid for literally 135 😑

Mrsm010918 · 17/08/2020 14:43

@WonderTweek want to teach my 2yr old how to do that? Lol

Horehound · 17/08/2020 15:19

Oh that's annoying @Mrsm010918 I've had so many like that and it's just so unfair.

Re the prolific study I did say at the end that everything didn't go well and write a schpeel about what happened. I hope others did too.

@WonderTweek there's something very Schrödinger-esque about that lol

Horehound · 17/08/2020 16:48

@Mrsm010918 I see I got laid for a job that I'd done 51 tasks on and they paid me for 50

Hmm why are we getting thrown off for doing 1 thing wrong??

Horehound · 17/08/2020 16:49

Paid*

DownThePlath · 17/08/2020 16:53

Is UHRS absolutely dead for anyone else lately too? I've barely had a thing on there for well over a week now

NewModelArmyMayhem18 · 17/08/2020 16:56

@DownThePlath yes, the same here. I earned $2 on there earlier but that's peanuts. There's been nothing much for at least a month. Not sure if it's quiet because August is everywhere or not.

Carrotgirl87 · 17/08/2020 17:59

@Horehound my partner had that prolific survey.. and they tried really hard to NOT pay out - apparently they returned 4/10 - first they said it was because he used automated responses (he didnt) then they said theyd mixed him up and it was because he did it too quickly (2 hours) and then they said it was a technical error. he spent an hour arguing with the woman who ran the test and in the end they paid him but it was a real battle. he was furious and complained about it.

Mancbee · 17/08/2020 18:07

@DownThePlath I've just done quite a few training hits on UHRS and got most of them correct then when I've tried to do the qualify ones so I can move onto the paid ones it's saying none available so I can't even get any further on that one! I feel like I've just done free work for them now when I could have been on with something else Hmm I used to really like UHRS.

Horehound · 17/08/2020 18:09

Oh really @Carrotgirl87 that's infuriating. She better not try it with me! I did it pretty well I think the only thing I struggled with was saying why I had lumped certain things into categories.
Like Dr, hospital blood.
Erm...

Horehound · 17/08/2020 18:19

Oh also @Carrotgirl87 when did he do it and when was it paid?

MrsWombat · 17/08/2020 19:30

I got 8 minutes of Bane.

DownThePlath · 17/08/2020 19:34

@Mancbee
I've had the same exact thing happen to me recently too! Was quite gutted as one of them was stupidly easy. Just cannot believe how quiet it is lately...

0htooooodles · 17/08/2020 19:37

@MrsWombat I managed 8 🤣
