Well ... it's been one hell of a month hasn't it? I hope everyone is safe and well (and not going too mad with kids and partners at home!). As always, referral links and new starters are welcome, think we're all going to need a boost financially over the next few months.

@lilmishap Way with Words is that a transcription company? Will have to check them out

3dogsnorth · 03/04/2020 18:04

My hours for Bane are on the invoice too. Yay! Now all we need is some continuous work in it! 🤞

Buster27 · 03/04/2020 21:32

Thanks @rhij86 - I will try chasing them up and see if I get anywhere. The project will probably be done by the time I get on Grin

Rad2016 · 03/04/2020 22:01

I guys thanks for the new thread. My account has just been activated for Appen after I got accepted on the bane project this week. I can see that you can potentially make some good money with Appen..that will really lift my spirits up during this very difficult time. I can see ther are lots of guideline to read. How will I know when a project is up...where do I start, am new to Appen

Lougle · 03/04/2020 22:14

Everything I see says there's no work for B* right now. Is that true or have I been kicked off? Grin

Suebnm · 03/04/2020 22:20

I've work for Ba*r but not B*e

toastytea · 03/04/2020 22:52

I haven't got work for either of the b groups! My understanding is that people are auditing the b p q one and the other one will have work soon.

Otterses · 04/04/2020 07:57

Hi @Rad2016 ! Well done on securing a project Grin I'd keep applying for anything and everything, sometimes Appen email to say your time is up on a project, or it just dries up without a word. Best thing you can do is have as many irons in as many fires as possible.

I'd also add, don't stress about making mistakes. Appen in my experience give you a good few chances and (generally) constructive feedback. Just start with the guidelines, wait for them to set up whatever link/tool you need to work from then get cracking.

Shockcolleague has just handed their notice in ... hopefully this means I can interview for his job. It is much more interesting than mine and better paid.

I'm very intent on career progression AND more money this year Grin

Good luck @Otterses
Hope you get this one, you deserve it.
Hard work and determination pays off.

Otterses · 04/04/2020 10:17

@Frenchdoors1 maybe! I expect they won't advertise for a while, but I'll certainly get an expression of interest in when I'm back at work for my one whole day next week Grin we'll see what happens, who knows. I think my manager has taken my last interview as a bit of a kick up the arse to sort out something to keep me engaged... if I don't get this I've decided I'm going to ask if they'd fund a diploma in addiction therapy.

Good luck and fingers crossed for you!

lilmishap · 04/04/2020 11:37

To the Utesters I've got a project that I cannot find any bugs on do I unclaim it?

TheLolaMontez · 04/04/2020 11:52

Thanks for all the well wishes everyone ❤️❤️

I've made £12 today from selling our duck and chicken eggs, think I'm going to do a weekly sell once I've got another good stash Smile

527040minutes · 04/04/2020 12:43

Tried Way With Words. Keep scoring 0% on their English language test so that's a wasted hour! Struggling to get to grip with utest! Did others complete the entire academy before starting projects?

lilmishap · 04/04/2020 13:43

@527040minutes Utest doesn't make any sense for a while, then it all starts to 'click'. Stick with it

527040minutes · 04/04/2020 13:49

Thanks @lilmishap is there a point at which swapping from academy to projects is best, or am I best completing the academy before jumping in? There's so much in it that it'd take hours and hours to get through before being able to move onto paid projects

Otterses · 04/04/2020 14:24

@TheLolaMontez

Hang on ... YOU HAVE DUCKS Shock ?

Anyone picked up any of those Neevo speech tasks? Feel like they've emailed a thousand times about this.

No money making yet today, averaging I'm on £46 + £22.50 so far though.DS has been erm ... 'helping' in the garden, by digging up worms to show me, we've got our potatoes, peas and sweetcorn in today as well and planting a load of bulbs and flower seeds.

Otterses · 04/04/2020 14:25

Gah... averaging £20 ish a day is what I meant to say!

OP posts:
Suebnm · 04/04/2020 14:28

@Otterses

I did some of those Neevo speech correction transcription tasks and it seems like a lot of work for a very small amount of money. Having said that, it all adds up.

TheLolaMontez · 04/04/2020 14:28

Yes @otterses Grin here they are, looking shifty 👀

I'm contemplating trying to grow pumpkins, I bet it's a bit late now for planting? How did you get on with yours last year?

April £10 a day thread!
Suebnm · 04/04/2020 14:34

Oh, I have just seen the money has been raised. Much better.

Frenchdoors1 · 04/04/2020 14:35

@TheLolaMontez

Awe aren't they lovely.

Lougle · 04/04/2020 14:41

@lilmishap no don't unclaim it. Spend some time trying to reproduce other people's bugs, then +1 them. You'll get a rating boost and you'll get to see what areas bugs have been found in. It can help you find bugs.

@527040minutes I'd do all the ones up until the academy challenge. It's really the challenge that gets you rated enough to get invitations for paid projects.

527040minutes · 04/04/2020 14:48

Fab thank you @Lougle! I've been working through them but the thought of doing absolutely all of them was putting me off keeping going! I wouldn't mind so much if it was alongside other bits but it's a massive time investment and I'm probably a touch lazy until I know something actually works for us Blush
