Well ... it's been one hell of a month hasn't it? I hope everyone is safe and well (and not going too mad with kids and partners at home!). As always, referral links and new starters are welcome, think we're all going to need a boost financially over the next few months.

@girlicorne you definitely shouldn't be paying anyone lol they create a milestone and then you do the work and when you finish they release the milestone and the funds go to your account which you can then withdraw. He might have been a scammer because you get all sorts, try and go with employers that have reviews.

Kaylsar · 16/04/2020 23:46

Today's summary
Prolific- £6.25 one of them was £3.50 for 30 minutes and it was a total nightmare
Freelancer- £70 for some writing job
Appen- keep checking but no tasks available for B!

When do tasks for Appen usually appear?

girlicorne · 17/04/2020 00:16

Thanks @Kayslar that’s what I thought!! Is it normal to get a message through freelancer to then email the employer? I have had another request for information, these ones don’t want my money though!!
Appen B* is completely random often they appear in the middle of the night and have run out by morning! You will get an email with a link when there are some available.

Flube · 17/04/2020 08:40

I have finally been paid! 🎉

rhij86 · 17/04/2020 09:05

@Flube hurrah!
I checked LB first thing, no available tasks. I'll try again at my usual 10.30am and see if I have any luck.

Flube · 17/04/2020 09:13

@rhij86 I am so bloody relieved! BrewGinGrin

I haven't checked LB yet. I am hoping to lure the youngest 2 out into the garden while I hopefully get some done. That's if they're are any tasks. 🤞

rhij86 · 17/04/2020 09:22

fingers crossed! Hope the weather stays good for you - after a few weeks of glorious sunshine we have some rain here. Makes a nice change Grin

Tjsmumma · 17/04/2020 09:57

Sorry totally new rk this, whats the best website to try? Best outcomes etc?

rhij86 · 17/04/2020 10:18

@tjsmumma it depends, if you need cash fast then you are better off going for the survey websites etc, but if you can wait a little while for it then you are definitely better off trying the more long term stuff like Appen or Lionbridge as the projects are much better paid once you get on them

ruralwanderer · 17/04/2020 11:02

Is Clickworker working for anyone today? I just have a weird message saying "Alive"...

Suebnm · 17/04/2020 11:33

@ruralwanderer

Clickworker is fine for me today.

rhij86 · 17/04/2020 11:39

@Flube just had an email to say there are tasks available

Boobahs · 17/04/2020 11:48

Hi, I've got a quick question about WorkMarket, I've had a payment of $54 today and it's showing in "Receivables" but the "available to withdraw" is still saying $0.00. Is there a minimum to pay out or do you have to wait 30 days? Thanks in advance Smile

Kaylsar · 17/04/2020 12:11

@girlicorne with Freelancer, communication has to remain on the website itself because otherwise you risk having your account closed, also most people that advocate off-platform communication are scammers.

ifuckarses · 17/04/2020 12:11

@Boobahs you have to receive it first, them it will go in to withdrawable.

ruralwanderer · 17/04/2020 12:27

Thanks @Suebnm, I cleared my cache and cookies then it worked for me. Typically though by the time I finally managed to log in there was no work available Brew

girlicorne · 17/04/2020 12:28

@kaylsar the communication for the second job came via my freelancer account but they asked them to email my contact details? Is this ok or not? I m thinking about leaving it to be honest as it seems a bit scammy and complicated as I don’t know what I m doing and with only eight bids allowed and no work history it would seem I m highly unlikely to get anything legit! Seems like you are making great money on there though!!

3dogsnorth · 17/04/2020 13:07

@Lougle

Do you mind if I pick your brains on Utest. I thought it would be wise to use this lockdown time to try and get on board with testing. Just working my way through the Academy. I remember seeing some advice from you before which I glanced at. Wish I'd read it more carefully but didn't have the time to devote then. Any advice would be very grateful, PM if that's more convenient. Many thanks

Lougle · 17/04/2020 13:46

@3dogsnorth if you do the academy courses up to course 9, you'll unlock the academy challenge cycle. Completing a challenge cycle (invitations go out on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday) will improve your rating.

Having says that, I took a bit of a break last week and now invitations have dried right up.... not sure if I've broken UTest for me. We'll see...

curdsandwhey · 17/04/2020 13:51

@Kaylsar You are doing extraordinarily well on Prolific! Although I guess it depends on what demographic you're in. Maybe some people are more in demand than others?

To anyone else who's hanging around on Prolific, has anyone else noticed a study from Bristol University that keeps appearing after the advertised time? e.g. they advertised an 11.45am Zoom interview but the advert appeared well after 1pm? It's happened several times now. I couldn't get it to work.

Kaylsar · 17/04/2020 14:11

Prolific hasn’t been so good today, I had no studies come up apart from one which was a video one on zoom which I’m not particularly interested in. Lockdown isn’t making me feel so princessy so I have no confidence showing a complete stranger my mad hair and toddler on my lap Grin

Rad2016 · 17/04/2020 14:22

Hi guys I have looking at Lionbridge but can't seem to find where to enrol. Is there a link?

Adelais · 17/04/2020 14:42

Those of you working for potato company, can you only do the work using chrome browser or does it not matter?

Suebnm · 17/04/2020 14:53

@Adelais

You can use chrome and vivalidi

Catatemyhomework · 17/04/2020 15:17

@Lougle, I haven't done much on UTest for a couple of weeks now. My heart hasn't really been in it. My invites have reduced massively now and I wonder the same. I have managed to hold onto my bronze rating though which is good as I thought I might lose it through lack of activity.
