I got my email from Rev to say I passed. I hope there’s some interesting work that pays well! (Not from the reviews I’ve read though)

Toobuktim · 30/01/2020 07:49

Have all of those who’ve applied to Appen had education further than High School/College level?

shurtlegreen31 · 30/01/2020 07:59

@SpockPaperScissorsLizardRock
Hi there,
I saw you've asked Honeygain referral link. Referral links is cool and should be used for sure, it increased my earning quite much.
But what motivated me from the very beginning and helped me to reach the first minimum payout of £20 was that I used the coupon code "forumbee". I typed this code when registering to Honeygain and £5 were added to my account.
So I would say that this "trick" is cool for the very first members, and then yeh, let's take an advantage of referral links! Wink Wink

BertieBotts · 30/01/2020 08:02

No. I don't even have A Levels. Although I haven't actually been accepted to any Appen projects yet so maybe they do think I am too thick Confused

Tefiti2 · 30/01/2020 08:25

@Toobuktim yes, a degree but not in anything remotely relevant to any of the tasks on there!

LMW1990 · 30/01/2020 09:09

freetrade.io/freeshare/?code=O3QEIJ89FM&sender=qadlSNZ9 You should sign up to Freetrade! It’s an app for investing in the stock market with no fees. Plus, when you sign up, we both get a free mystery share!

Please only use if you're going to top up £1 so we both get the free share!

Lougle · 30/01/2020 09:12

The person who used my FreeTrade link hasn't topped up so far. If you could do so, I'd be grateful because it's a waste otherwise.

Flube · 30/01/2020 09:53

Same Lougle. Sad

All who have used a freetrade link, please remember to top up £1 so that we can all get our free shares.. Thanks. Smile

NCforsafety · 30/01/2020 10:26

Anyone got a freetrade link I can use? I'm ready with my money to top up :)

margaritasbythesea · 30/01/2020 10:31

Is there anyone on Appen has had made an application and not heard anything suddenly have work or an exam for that project?

Any project I have had from them (and I feel very lucky to have had any) I have applied for and got the exam or access to within a few days.

I am just wondering why they keep all these applications active and don't just say that there's no work, or we don't want you, or whatever.

Whatsmyname2019 · 30/01/2020 10:38

@NCforsafety I have one

NCforsafety · 30/01/2020 10:52

Thanks whatsmyname2019 - I've used it but its taking them time to verify me....

Bemystarlord · 30/01/2020 11:11

@margaritasbythesea yes, i’ve heard about projects months after applying, some you hear straight away and others not.

themoneyshed · 30/01/2020 11:14

Morning all!

Here for all your Matched Betting questions if you have any ;)

justtheonethen · 30/01/2020 11:19

If anyone wants a Freetrade link let me know. My last one was used and not topped up 😭

Whatsmyname2019 · 30/01/2020 11:35

Thanks @NCforsafety , I think it’s always pretty slow

Boobahs · 30/01/2020 12:04

@themoneyshed I experienced my first partially matched bet last night and suitably panicked! I’ve watched the Team Profit video on how to rectify this but the odds didn’t change from the first partially matched bet. However Betfair were saying I have no unmatched bets, is that because I cancelled it? I needed to stake £1.62 (£12.36 minus £11.24) to make the bet up but Betfair were saying it’s a minimum £2 stake so I did the £2. How will this affect this bet, having laid more than I needed to?

Trading212 link (Also £1 deposit) if anyone wants one.

www.trading212.com/invite/FMEs4VDE

margaritas Apparently it's because over time with the project open they take inactive workers off and then have space for more people.

themoneyshed · 30/01/2020 12:09

@Boobahs

Are we close to the event? Is there still time for it to match?

Is betfair just showing you now as having a matched bet?

In the future, use this guide for what to do if your bet doesn't match

blog.themoneyshed.co.uk/unmatched-or-partially-matched-bets-matched-betting/

BertieBotts · 30/01/2020 12:09

Ooh two people have used my link :) Thank you! I have three Ocado shares now - totally "random" I see :o

Boobahs · 30/01/2020 12:20

It's tomorrow at 7.45pm. Lay odds were 3.55.

I was supposed to lay £12.36. Only £11.24 got matched so £1.62 was unmatched. I cancelled the unmatched part so nothing was showing up in my unmatched bets section. I did the Team Profit calculator and it said to lay £1.62 at the new odds but the odds were still 3.55. I try to lay £1.62 but Betfair said it was a minimum of £2 stake so I now have 2 bets of £11.24 and £2, both at 3.55.

Bemystarlord · 30/01/2020 12:21

Anyone doing the SME work for Lionbridge through workmarket, can you tell me if the pay is shown in WM on a Thursday or Friday please?

themoneyshed · 30/01/2020 12:22

@Bemystarlord

it was in Friday for me last week

Boobahs · 30/01/2020 12:24

Sorry, that should have said "I was supposed to lay £12.86" Blush

themoneyshed · 30/01/2020 12:25

@Boobahs

Ok so that event is still quite a long way off.

I tend to only deal with unmatched bets if we ware say an hour or two away and it hasn't matched (and even then if its horses I would hold my nerve until say 20mins before the off to see if it matches)

Do Team Profit offer a helpline like Profit Accumulator do where you can ring and get help with bets in situations like this?

From what you've said it seems you've only overlaid by around 40p to cover all this
