Share link if anyone wants to put in £1:

Create a Trading 212 Invest account using this link www.trading212.com/invite/FMEohVmG and we both get a free share!

Don't think I can share any Freetrade links until the last person puts their £1 in, is that right?

Boobahs · 30/01/2020 12:29

Yes I think I've only overlaid by a few pence but I'm worried that the bet won't stand and I'll lose my money Confused

Is it ok to overlay?

Bemystarlord · 30/01/2020 12:31

@themoneyshed great, thank you. Always worry with first payments incase anything goes wrong!

MoreMoneyPlease · 30/01/2020 12:32

@Boobahs I had this last week and freaked out. Luckily, by the time I'd stopped panicking and trying to work out what to do, the bet had fully matched. I now know to check the amount under my lay bet to make sure it covers the amount I'm laying (hopefully that makes sense, I've only done 8 back/lay bets so far!)

Catatemyhomework · 30/01/2020 12:33

I've just done my first test piece for Rev. It was truly terrifying! I don't fancy taking on any of the jobs currently listed. I think it will be a slow burner for me, as it's taken me over an hour to transcribe two minutes of audio.

MoreMoneyPlease · 30/01/2020 12:38

@Boobahs This is a screen shot from Smarkets which shows the £amount under the lay bet that is available to match your bet (I had a long online conversation with Smarkets about this!) Hope that helps!

Can I have it please @justtheonethen - I keep missing them. I promise I'll top
It up straight away!

Lougle · 30/01/2020 13:20

I'm a bit snowed under with UTest (mainly because I'm new and slow Grin) and have even declined some projects. I'm really pleased that work is coming, although I've had a banging migraine for the last 3 days which isn't helping my thought processes.

margaritasbythesea · 30/01/2020 14:05

Thanks Bemystarlord and BertieBotts. I shall be patient.

justtheonethen · 30/01/2020 14:58

@rosamoschata - pmed you Smile

LMW1990 · 30/01/2020 15:43

Rev is not for the faint hearted. The audio is poor and the pay is appalling. It should take a professional transcriber between 3 to 4 times the audio to type it, but the quality is so bad on there I don't bother any more. I'm a medical secretary so do loads of transcription. If you have the equipment at home a ok based agency would suit you better.

Shorternights · 30/01/2020 15:44

Hi everyone, I've been lurking for a while and have found these threads so useful. I've found out about things I never knew existed!

I need to make some extra money (don't we all!) so I've signed up to various online companies including Appen, Rev etc. Appen have accepted me but all of my projects are 'in progress' which is frustrating.

@themoneyshed I wondered if I could ask you something? I did a bit of matched betting about 4 years ago and since then have moved house. Do you think it's likely I could sign-up to the bookies as a new customer now using my new adrees and a new email address?

I'm keen to start bringing some extra funds asap but as soon as I do I will be over the higher earner tax threshold (I work full time). I assume I'll need to save nearly half of anything I make to pay tax as a self-employed person for any online income I make. Is that correct?

Thanks everyone!

@themoneyshed Thank you!

I'm just in the process of being approved for a mortgage so might wait a few weeks then get started again Smile

GailLondon · 30/01/2020 16:00

I'm quite enjoying UTest as a welcome distraction while waiting for any projects on Appen. I found UTest really confusing to begin with, but it all slowly makes more sense as you go along, so could be worth a little time investment to get going.
I've just found and submitted a bug (finally!) on my second academy cycle, which should hlp boost my rating. I'm already up to 'Rated' from 'Unrated', and have started getting quite a few invites.
I've also had two of my projects ask for referrals, and have sucessfully referred my husband to them, so doubling our household earnings for not too much effort as I've already spent the time figuring out how to install and set up everything :)

honeysanchezz · 30/01/2020 16:07

freetrade.io/freeshare/?code=25ZP6RJH2G&sender=9FELerrt You should sign up to Freetrade! It’s an app for investing in the stock market with no fees. Plus, when you sign up, we both get a free mystery share!

lilmishap · 30/01/2020 16:15

@Bemystarlord I came here to check on that as the email I got told me to expect payment today. I'm still waiting on flipping Appen from December!
. I just sent in a ticket. Im still only showing as part of the recruitment cloud I don't know if that's supposed to change?

lilmishap · 30/01/2020 16:16

@Themoneyshed another house mover here I regularly use coral and 888 for poker though, is there any point me looking into MB if I likely have old forgotten accounts at the old addresses?

themoneyshed · 30/01/2020 16:21

@lilmishap

Hiya

First, don't worry about already having account with Coral and 888. All that means if that you miss out on the sign up offers for them (which I think is around £50 from memory) but that's it

If you've got accounts for years ago and they are inactive they have more than likely been closed so you would be able to go through all the sign up offers with them.

As I always say the SHORT TERM money with Matched Betting is in the sign up offers (around £1000 worth) but the LONG TERM money is in the reload offers that appear each day on your matched betting service company of choice.

That's where you make the £10k, £20k, £30k, £40k+ money from all this ;)

Sign up offers are just that, things to get you through the gates!

lilmishap · 30/01/2020 16:23

In other news I'm killing it on Userlytics recently. All emails sent out at silly oclock so I'm missing lots, but I'm making £30 a week over the last 3

lilmishap · 30/01/2020 16:25

OK @themoneyshed I'll take your word for it and spend tonight trawling Google to try and get to grips with it, I tried it once before and couldn't shake the feeling that I didn't know what the hell I was doing!

toastytea · 30/01/2020 16:41

@rhiji86 any news on test? I've decided to take the plunge and apply. At what point do you declare working for appen? Do they know prior to any test being done?

Bemystarlord · 30/01/2020 16:51

@lilmishap yes i’m showing the same on WM. let me know if you hear anything back. Have you had any feedback on how you are doing?

StudentHelp · 30/01/2020 17:40

Got my shares eventually and they’re all worth £3. Better than nothing, I guess
