£10 a day thread, January part two

I'm so happy to see the thread has been ticking along with so many new people joining us Grin

It's been a shitty couple of weeks for me. I started out the new year with an awful sore throat, and it turns out I have glandular fever, so I've been too exhausted for any serious money making.

I'm actually really enjoying Chip! It's proving to be a great way to stash all the little bits of money from profilic etc. so I can see it actually adding up to something.

This morning I've switched bank accounts (£100 for joining, then £100 if I leave unhappy in six months) and managed to reduce my life insurance policy by £9 a month, and get £85 cashback for doing so via Quidco, so I'm trying to be productive.

Hope everyone is having a good January.

@madasaboxofcats well done let us know what you think of mod2

girlicorne · 14/01/2020 14:07

I ventured into mod2 the other night, unsured about eight out of ten then quickly ran away again!!! I much prefer monitoring!!

MynameisJune · 14/01/2020 14:07

@madasaboxofcats well done. You’ll likely find yourself much slower now as it’s a bit different to phase1.

SimplyBlue · 14/01/2020 14:37

I really don't know where I am going wrong.
I have no news from anywhere.

Big dramatic sigh.

Nothing on utest for me either. What was the other testing site people use?

rhij86 · 14/01/2020 14:51

@SNISR I thought the same. Hesitant to apply for lionbridge but appen has completely dried up for me now. Zilch. How are you getting on?

DontCallMeDarling · 14/01/2020 14:58

@SNISR I think it is frowned upon by both companies as they are competitors and if you end up working on the same project, duplicate IP addresses are easily discovered and you will be kicked off both. I read this on another website and don't know how accurate it is. I would say that if Appen is dried up then apply to Lionbridge and if you are successful, don't work for Appen until Lionbridge work dries up. I think it is probably ok as long as you are not working for both at the same time.

DontCallMeDarling · 14/01/2020 15:06

@SimplyBlue This is not uncommon I'm afraid, it is the luck of the drawer. Keep plugging away.

I applied for Crisp in June, not heard a thing and didn't hear from Appen for 6 months! I'm working for them now but one of the projects which involved a lot of studying is pretty dead in the water at the moment so even if you get on, it doesn't mean steady work.

You have to have fingers in lots of pies and then cross your fingers Grin

I am doing an online TEFL course and then have a go at teaching English online. Not sure it will be my thing but may as well give it a go!

SpinneyHill · 14/01/2020 15:41

You can work for Lionbridge and Appen but not on the same projects, I have Appen on the CV I uploaded.

SNISR · 14/01/2020 15:42

@dontcallmedarling thank you

Glittersocks · 14/01/2020 15:46

Yep @SpinneyHill is right about Lionbridge and Appen. You can work for both but not on the same projects, as they’re competitors.

SimplyBlue · 14/01/2020 16:13

Thanks for the encouragement. I will keep going. I'm trying to work on a website in my free time which is keeping me busy but it doesn't pay (hopefully it will one day!)

bluebell94 · 14/01/2020 16:14

Huge thanks to you all for these threads - I'm slowly getting involved (have always avoided as was dubious!)
Signed up to prolific a week or so ago and have £4.37. Not exactly bank breaking but a good little start for me to get the hang of it. Today been accepted for market research with angelfish which pays £135 so looking forward to starting that.
Would love to try matched betting but find it all a bit confusing from the things I've read (never online bet in my life). Need to sit down and watch a good few videos on it I think.

otterses · 14/01/2020 16:22

@SimplyBlue

There's Utest, whatusersdo, testing time ... there's loads of similar sites Smile I'll try to have a think.

I just started using Streetbees! Use my referral code 7944R1 :) onelink.to/streetbees

Referral link if anyone is interested, I've had £3 paid into my PayPal account already this morning and some are waiting to be reviewed.
I only started a few days ago too.

themoneyshed · 14/01/2020 16:33

Another free share for you all from Freetrade worth £3-£200

freetrade.io/freeshare/?code=UAGWZ8FIGB&sender=jFKtfFI2

SimplyBlue · 14/01/2020 16:35

@otterses @lilmishap

Thank you both Smile

Glittersocks · 14/01/2020 16:37

@bluebell94 that’s not bad with Proflic, almost at £5 mark. I’ve half that and it’s really stalled for me.
Wd for gettting accepted on the Angelfish project. I applied too but no luck there or for any other market research. Back to eBay....

StudentHelp · 14/01/2020 17:03

I’m back after some hellish uni exams that finished this afternoon

KnowBetterDoBetter · 14/01/2020 17:38

Ooh, I guess I was wrong in my last post and whoever used my code does not need to add money before I get any more codes!

Here it is if anyone needs:

freetrade.io/freeshare/?code=BAY0SHU7SL&sender=90Ca6L8X

anxiouswaiting · 14/01/2020 18:16

Anyone not been paid by Appen yet?

ifuckarses · 14/01/2020 18:24

Another shares one, I think this one has unlimited uses unlike the freetrade one.

Do you want to get a free stock share worth up to £ 100?

Create a Trading212Invest account using this link www.trading212.com/invite/FMElG7h2 and we both get a free share!

Catatemyhomework · 14/01/2020 18:29

@StudentHelp hope the exams went well for you. Glad they've finished for you now. You can celebrate! Anyone doing these transcription tasks on Neevo? I've done 100 today but I'm not sure they're worth $0.15 per segment. It takes ages!

StudentHelp · 14/01/2020 18:35

@StudentHelp
I’m not massively confident but I’ll just have to wait and see!

I haven’t been offered that neevo task yet

anxiouswaiting · 14/01/2020 18:59

@Catatemyhomework I am doing the Neevo tasks and agree not well paid!
