£10 a day thread, January part two

I'm so happy to see the thread has been ticking along with so many new people joining us Grin

It's been a shitty couple of weeks for me. I started out the new year with an awful sore throat, and it turns out I have glandular fever, so I've been too exhausted for any serious money making.

I'm actually really enjoying Chip! It's proving to be a great way to stash all the little bits of money from profilic etc. so I can see it actually adding up to something.

This morning I've switched bank accounts (£100 for joining, then £100 if I leave unhappy in six months) and managed to reduce my life insurance policy by £9 a month, and get £85 cashback for doing so via Quidco, so I'm trying to be productive.

Hope everyone is having a good January.

Yes to those who asked it just told me today that I have a referral link I can share. My last one was shared and then the person didn't top up and I wasn't expecting it another but it came today.

@Lougle when I first credited my account with £1 I thought it hadn't worked and emailed them. It actually had worked. It just takes a few hours before it shows up, maybe it could even take a day depending on the time you did it. That's all you need to do as far as I know, you don't have to then buy shares - though I did with mine.

Catatemyhomework · 16/01/2020 16:01

@Lougle, it takes a while to register on the system. I found there was a lag of a working day I think before your account matches your investment amount.

MrsWombat · 16/01/2020 16:03

Random self-assessment question - how do we record the invoices for Appen, because we invoice on the first of the month for the previous month? E.g. the tax year ends on the 5th April. So do we include March's work which we get paid for around the 14th April? (I'm assuming it's the same for the simplified expenses allowance?)

Catatemyhomework · 16/01/2020 16:04

I'm doing the Neevo Orthographic Transcription task @SNISR. It is painful I agree. I've done 400 and I can't be arsed any more. I would love to get the calls back. I loved them and it didn't feel work and the pay was lovely! Smile

lilmishap · 16/01/2020 16:05

@Lougle it takes a while to catch up. I put a quid on and then put another 2 on thinking it hadn't worked.

MrsWombat · 16/01/2020 16:07

I'm not actually sure we the simplified expenses if we are only using the £1000 trading allowance so ignore that comment!

lilmishap · 16/01/2020 16:07

It says this hasn't been used yet.

Just wondering if I have to declare all earnings? I'm currently doing Prolific, Qmee, Clickworker, Neevo and Lionbridge. I also cashed out of Cog 21 on 20 Cogs (completed 20 last year and cashed out). I've registered as self employed sole trader but don't want to declare things I don't need to. Also what expenses do you claim for?

DontCallMeDarling · 16/01/2020 16:10

@mrswombat yes you can but I personally don't record money in my spreadsheet until it turns up in my account so I would leave March for the following tax year.

NCforsafety · 16/01/2020 16:17

Argh on 453 orthographic transcriptions and just can't do any more. My brain is fried and I wanted to get to 1000!!!!

21 projects on Appen in process.
Still not been accepted by Crisp despite passing test in June last year and then October again.

Really need a good Appen project to come through....

SNISR · 16/01/2020 16:32

@NCforsafety @catatemyhomework well done for doing so many.
I'm now on 830 since I last wrote. I really wouldn't have got so far but innari c has finished and I thought every little helps. My thumb is begging me to stop, I'm just being greedy!

Lougle · 16/01/2020 16:44

@lilmishap ah, ok. It's showing as deposited, but not as available. I'm not willing to deposit more until I can use the £1 I deposited.

Catatemyhomework · 16/01/2020 16:48

@SNISR, 1000 is $150 I guess so not to be sniffed at if you can bear it. Not sure if I can bear to do another 600 though! Grin

themoneyshed · 16/01/2020 16:50

@ifuckarses

If you are self employed there are LOAD of expenses you can claim for (heating, broadband, interest on your mortgage, council tax etc. )

All details are here

Someone on slack says c risp statements are coming through now

0htooooodles · 16/01/2020 16:54

Crisp statements in!

Lougle · 16/01/2020 17:03

I'm so jealous of you people who actually have work! Still not a sausage for me yet.

MynameisJune · 16/01/2020 17:13

My c risp statement is for less than I expected, is there anything I can do?

otterses · 16/01/2020 17:13

@Lougle

Try not to get disheartens Sad honestly a lot of us waited till May/June last year before we heard about anything.

@spacepoppers I'm using a mac laptop, but when i try and install after downloading i just have a thingy that says 'verifying' that never progresses. I'm going to try and email them about it.

ZetaPuppis · 16/01/2020 17:24

It does take time to get work in so hang on. Don’t feel disheartened.

I got my statement too. Not much due to the amount I did but it all adds up. Here’s looking to January’s and hoping for 10x the amount I got Smile

Lougle · 16/01/2020 17:27

Ok, I'll be more patient Grin

527040minutes · 16/01/2020 18:14

I can't work out what my payoneer "business category" should be. Beginning to think that this is maybe too complex for me Confused anyone remember what they put please?
