£10 a day thread, January part two

otterses · 13/01/2020 08:35

I'm so happy to see the thread has been ticking along with so many new people joining us Grin

It's been a shitty couple of weeks for me. I started out the new year with an awful sore throat, and it turns out I have glandular fever, so I've been too exhausted for any serious money making.

I'm actually really enjoying Chip! It's proving to be a great way to stash all the little bits of money from profilic etc. so I can see it actually adding up to something.

This morning I've switched bank accounts (£100 for joining, then £100 if I leave unhappy in six months) and managed to reduce my life insurance policy by £9 a month, and get £85 cashback for doing so via Quidco, so I'm trying to be productive.

Hope everyone is having a good January.

My freetrade link if anyone wants it

SpirallingThroughAnotherDay · 16/01/2020 07:12

Ahh I wasn't quick enough @MynameisJune
If anyone else has a freetrade link I can use I'd be grateful thanks!

MoreMoneyPlease · 16/01/2020 07:26

Thanks for the tips @AFemaleWoman I must remember to use the cash back sites. My husband renewed the house insurance directly with the company last week and I was very cross he didn't go through a cash back site!

Is smarkets an exchange like Betfair? Is one better than the other or does it not matter?

Catatemyhomework · 16/01/2020 07:36

@MoreMoneyPlease, I believe they are both betting exchanges. I don't know if one is better than the other. I have been using Betfair as I followed the videos in Team Profit. I guess if you got sent a free bet from Betfair you could place a back bet with them and then lay your odds with Smarkets and vice versa.

Catatemyhomework · 16/01/2020 07:45

@MoreMoneyPlease, I found this link. Might be a helpful read:

toastytea · 16/01/2020 08:09

@Lougle It's under the projects tab. I was invited and then did a screener. I don't think it's a test case but honestly I've not spent enough time figuring it all out.

toastytea · 16/01/2020 08:11

@Lougle ok realised I'm not making much sense. Looked and it was a test case.

Lougle · 16/01/2020 08:13

Ahh, so you were invited. That's ok, I thought I'd missed something! I've done some Academy test cases, but nothing paid yet.

I have had contact from Appen today, so I'll head over there and do something to progress that.

GailLondon · 16/01/2020 08:58

I had some more Appen projects come available for me to apply yesterday:
Nile, Truckee, Tigris and Saluda, so hopefully that means they are accepting new raters on to these projects?
@SpinneyHill I did a batch on Forester late December, and another early January. Both were completed pretty quickly. They said they would kick peope off for less than 90% accuracy, so you may have to wait until places open up. Not a lot of work so far though!

seizethecuttlefish · 16/01/2020 09:00

@afemalewoman I never thought of that HmmI've signed up for loads already but I'll look in future. I'm enjoying it and after nearly 2 weeks I'm over £100 up. Bit nerve wracking yesterday as I thought I'd messed up but worked out ok. I'm not sure how it works out long term though.
Enjoying Crisp too but not sure if it'll ever make enough for a living.
Neevo have forgotten about me so I'm just getting the send an image ones.
Has anyone had payment from isoftstone for the voice command project?

nothingchangesonnewyearsday · 16/01/2020 09:25

No updates on slack? 😢

Lougle · 16/01/2020 09:35

For anyone who is feeling frustrated, I just looked at my UTest profile and realised that while it seems foreeeverr, I only joined on 04th January, so it's been 12 days Blush. It's easy to think things are going so slowly.

Catatemyhomework · 16/01/2020 09:35

@FemaleWoman, the cash back is a great idea, thanks. I missed Coral as didn't know about that so that's a pity, but you live and learn. Next sign up is William Hill for me. I've looked on Quidco, Top Cash Back and OhMyDosh and can only find cashback offers casino. @seizethecuttlefish, I haven't been paid for isoftstone yet either. Possibly a silly question, but if I sign up to a bookie via a cashback site, it won't prevent me getting the free bets will it? Just wondered if they only run one promotional offer at a time. Thanks.

Catatemyhomework · 16/01/2020 09:46

@Lougle, a lot can happen in two weeks too. I signed up to loads of places in early December when I first joined this thread and felt really disheartened after the first two weeks. However in the last two weeks of December I managed over $800. Had no idea I would as first two weeks was so quiet. January hasn't been very lucrative for me so far but things are starting to pick up now. I must say though, Appen have been hopeless for me and not been offered Crisp yet. I have done well from Neevo and isoftstone and now hopefully UTest and MB.

lilmishap · 16/01/2020 09:55

Appen still not paid or bothered to let us know when they will.
I was really hoping that would pay for sons birthday so bit of a shitter tbh.

Boobahs · 16/01/2020 10:00

Had 4(!) emails come through for the Appen Forester project but it's the Scottish one and I don't live in Scotland! I got very excited then Sad

Yugi · 16/01/2020 10:00

Made a start on matched betting this morning, watched lots of videos, steeled myself to place that first bet (I dont gamble at all) and Coral betting exchange isn't working, sigh!

bookgirl1982 · 16/01/2020 10:04

Could someone share the link to sign up with isoftstone? Thanks!

lilmishap · 16/01/2020 10:36

Got on Lionbridge!!
They want social media evaluators age 35+ as well fs30.formsite.com/LB2014/3bmsydyro7/index.html

Can anyone offer me an idiots guide to 20 cogs?

lilmishap · 16/01/2020 10:52

@Boobahs me too. I got really excited when it popped upAngry

To those Utesters who applied for the utterances yesterday I've had £3.08 added to invoice just for applying. Have I understood that right? How much are we getting for the actual work?

This is agony the week after my son's birthday I'll be rolling in cash, sadly my direct debits come out tonight so anything that goes in is gone and I've got to go cap in hand to family for a borrow.

Curse you Appen a pox on your finance department!!

lilmishap · 16/01/2020 10:59

@bookgirl1982 the site has changed recently, I just tried to get on through my bookmark and it's changed to www.teemwork.ai
@Catatemyhomework is that correct?

SpockPaperScissorsLizardRock · 16/01/2020 10:59

Now Appen has dried up a bit i'm back to website testing. Managed a couple of tests in 40 minutes so that was an easy $20 dollars. I'd forgotten how much i enjoy it!

MoreMoneyPlease · 16/01/2020 11:17

Thanks @Catatemyhomework I feel the more I read up on it, the less scared I'll be! I'm currently in a quiet spell at work so could spend some time looking at the sites but I think my IT dept might not be too happy!!

MoreMoneyPlease · 16/01/2020 11:19

@lilmishap Yes, I had an email that they were changing their name to teemwork.ai
