£10 a day thread, January part two

I'm so happy to see the thread has been ticking along with so many new people joining us Grin

It's been a shitty couple of weeks for me. I started out the new year with an awful sore throat, and it turns out I have glandular fever, so I've been too exhausted for any serious money making.

I'm actually really enjoying Chip! It's proving to be a great way to stash all the little bits of money from profilic etc. so I can see it actually adding up to something.

This morning I've switched bank accounts (£100 for joining, then £100 if I leave unhappy in six months) and managed to reduce my life insurance policy by £9 a month, and get £85 cashback for doing so via Quidco, so I'm trying to be productive.

Hope everyone is having a good January.

@nothingchangesonnewyearsday try not to worry, I haven't had an issue with payments in the 6 months I've been with them. Haven't heard anything about invoices being late but if it's not here by tomorrow morning I'll ask..

Spartonian · 15/01/2020 15:14

What does returned mean on Prolific studies?

BlackBlueBell · 15/01/2020 15:17

@spartonian that happens when you’ve left a study early or finished without completing

0htooooodles · 15/01/2020 16:03

Anyone hear back from Lionbridge? I saw they were looking for people when posted on here and applied. Heard back today, took the test and passed! Just waiting to see what happens next Smile

siananigans · 15/01/2020 16:07

@0htooooodles I'm in the process of doing Lion Bridge too, have just had all the contractor terms through to read etc.

What did you decide regards the potentially offensive content? I'm not sure what to do, I'm not easily offended by much, but I'm worried about exposure to child/animal abuse etc. At the same time I know it's an important job to flag these things!

0htooooodles · 15/01/2020 16:11

@siananigans hello! haven't heard anything back as literally just passed. I'm not easily offended, and currently do Crisp too, so think I'll be fine!

lilmishap · 15/01/2020 16:12

No idea what I'm doing on free trade but -6.99 so that's pants. I think.

MynameisJune · 15/01/2020 16:16

Been accepted onto that lionbridge social media job. Might be a good compliment to crisp.

lilmishap · 15/01/2020 16:22

I did lionbridge yesterday too, did an English test, filled everything out and nothing. Last night I did another test (spelling) to see if that helped. Nope.

7 work this buttons on Appen=nothing happening, 17 projects=nothing.

When Appen finally pay I'll try MB.

lilmishap · 15/01/2020 16:27

@MynameisJune after you let them know you'd completed registration how long until they let you know?

Sallycinnamum · 15/01/2020 16:27

I've had a sudden rush of emails today from Appen, Utest and isoftstone today so I'm hoping I can start something soon.

The Utest project looks really interesting so fingers crossed.

Boobahs · 15/01/2020 16:31

Another one here that's heard from isoftstone and Lionbridge this afternoon Grin

nothingchangesonnewyearsday · 15/01/2020 16:31

@BlackCatFan surely there's no time today left?

Ah go on, ASK! Lol

SimplyBlue · 15/01/2020 16:32

I have emailed appen and said that I have had 4 active processes in status for a month now and still no work. Hopefully that will make something happen. Up to £5 on Qmee. Previously I've waited until I have £10 before making a withdrawal but I may cash out early as I'm not having much luck elsewhere this week!

lilmishap · 15/01/2020 16:42

RE lionbridge I'm a member of the labour cloud on workmarket but what does that mean? Does that mean I'm in and waiting for work? Or am I waiting to hear if I got it?

Fedupandpoor · 15/01/2020 17:04

My payment from cloudworkers is showing as pending in PayPal for a good few days now, is that normal? How do I get it to release? #skintasfuck

toastytea · 15/01/2020 17:06

Ok, been paid for the first time on utest! Yippee!

GachaBread · 15/01/2020 17:06

@Fedupandpoor you have to sign into PayPal and accept the payment. I have to do it through my laptop. Click on your PayPal activity, click cloudworkers and it should show you the options.

GachaBread · 15/01/2020 17:08

@Fedupandpoor the reason you have to accept it is because it is paid in euros and you have to confirm that you want it converting to pounds and for the necessary charges to be taken with your consent.

2under2survivor · 15/01/2020 17:23

In case anyone who does C risp hasn't seen it, there's been a message on Slack - statements delayed, update tomorrow

AFemaleWoman · 15/01/2020 17:30

Place marking.

Am totally new to these threads but have been matched betting and doing casino offers for almost three years now after learning about it on here. Started with £60 and have made more than I ever imagined possible. Im still making money doing that but I'm starting to lose a few bookie accounts, (totally normal with matched betting when they suspect you're abusing promos) but looking to make a little bit of money in other ways too, just to have more options, this thread popped up on active so will have a good read later on in the bath.

anxiouswaiting · 15/01/2020 17:32

Is anyone clear on the rules of working Appen and Lionbridge? I was sure I had read you can't work for both companies but after reading other peoples comments os it just you can't work the same project for both? I don't want to risk applying for Lionbridge and Appen kicking me off.

AFemaleWoman · 15/01/2020 17:37

The Sun newspaper have a SunSavees thing where they print a code every day and you enter it into the sub savers app, every 28 codes they give you £5.

My husband works in construction and gets the code from the paper off his colleagues.

I don't think it it works out worth buying the paper just for the codes but if you know someone who buys it or visit a cafe with one for customers to read it's worth doing.

My mam has £20 so far. She takes the code from unsold copies where she works.

BlackCatFan · 15/01/2020 17:42

Just noticed the message on slack .. hope we aren't waiting too long for statements :(

Fedupandpoor · 15/01/2020 18:18

Oh thank you! What a twat 🤦‍♀️
