@Otterses yeah I know, it's just that topic that makes me v uncomfortable. But I do need the extra money so I think I'll just have to risk it. Like you say, it's getting rid of it so for the greater good I suppose.

deepfrieddaffodils · 09/03/2019 12:18

A quick namechange for this as my name is in the link!

Just changed gas and electric from SSE to Bulb which should save £120 a year Smile Linky link to them if anyone would like to cut their bills and help me with some cashback bulb.co.uk/refer/rachele8304

I also found I was in credit with SSE but they hadn't told me Hmm so I'm getting £34 refunded. Worth checking if you're trying to find some extra cash - I don't know why I'd never thought of doing this.

WithAllIntenseAndPurposes · 09/03/2019 12:39

@Otterses how you getting on with Crisp? I've reached the dizzy heights of £13 pounds so far! I do however not have much time to spare at the moment so I've probably done the grand total of two and a half hours work this week!

TwllBach · 09/03/2019 12:45

Hi everyone, I hope you don't mind me sticking my head round the door.

I'm looking to sort my debt out and am on another thread on here but could do with a few sidelines to help that happen. I'm on Quidco but I'm keeping my spending to groceries, childcare and petrol ATM so there's nothing building there. I am signed up to the YouGov survey site too.

Can I recommend 20cogs to anyone? I don't think I saw it mentioned at the top - it took me about a month to get it done and you do need spare cash but I spent the bare minimum and I got £145 from it. If anyone fancies giving it a go, please let me know because I can stash cash for referring people.

I just tried the Crisp thing and only got 18/20, but if you could only recommend two things to earn a bit extra, what would they be??

namechangedforanon · 09/03/2019 13:03

Please send me your 20 cogs link :)

Unfortunately this is run by Submission Technology Ltd, a business who are known to be proponents of ethically questionable incentive websites.

They used to run a site called PaidOffers.co.uk, which received a lot of negative press and a couple of ASA citations for misleading its users. PaidOffers was also a cashback ladder whereby it was next to impossible to actually earn anything. 20 Cogs, as far as I can tell, is exactly the same concept under a new name (PaidOffers is now closed).

See below links for further info:

Remember, if it seems too good to be true, it normally is!

Turns out I can just copy and paste here!

For transparency, it says that I will earn 5% of what 'my friends' earn forever and a £20 bonus once 'my friends' complete 20cogs.

Here's the link -

20cogs.co.uk/validate/refer_a_friend/welcome/1376027?keyword=referred

Let me know how you get on with it? I did it solidly over maybe 20 hours and quite enjoyed it once I got in to it, and there was definitely scope to make more money than I did because if you can afford to put in a little more you can choose the better paying options.

Otterses · 09/03/2019 13:24

@lannister DO NOT JOIN ARISE!

TwllBach · 09/03/2019 13:26

oh whoops namechanged sorry I didn't see your second post! I feel bad now... I was dubious at first, but it worked out ok for me.

Otterses · 09/03/2019 13:33

I'd also not recommend 20 Cogs. Lots of issues with cashback being declined, and dodgy sites like Lottogo not letting you unsubscribe from their service. Think I may have mentioned it on a previous thread.

Arise* - readthisshit.com/arise-virtual-solutions/#.XIO_4qSnzYU

I was the first one I found 😂 all I remember is the 6 weeks unpaid training and substantial outlay. I may be totally wrong but it sounds a bit dodgy to me. I don't feel like you should be giving away your time and forking our for equipment to work for someone.

TwllBach · 09/03/2019 13:41

Eek I feel doubly bad for recommending it now, sorry Otterses

deepfrieddaffodils · 09/03/2019 14:41

Hi I've seen people talking about 20 cogs very positively but I found stuff not tracking, and I got massive amounts of spam, thankfully to my spam address!

lannister · 09/03/2019 15:14

@Otterses thank you for the link about Arise. Doesn't sound like a legit work from home job

Otterses · 09/03/2019 16:31

@lannister I just don't want you to get burned if that's what you're interested in there are loads of places that offer at home customer service, Apple for example! I just think you'd be selling yourself a bit short when you could (and quite rightly SHOULD) get equipment, a pay cheque and a pension

@deepfrieddaffodils I think a lot of those 5 star reviews are quite suspect to be honest.

@TwllBach don't feel bad! You weren't to know if it's worked out okay for you Smile

Another horrendous day at work. Well and truly had enough now. I've decided I'm going to wake a fortune from crisp and tell them to shove it Grin in my bloody dreams.

Otterses · 09/03/2019 16:34

@TwllBach sorry! I realised I totally ignored your question.

With 18 I'd expect to hear from Crisp on Monday Wink appears to be a huge surge in recruitment at the moment.

I'd also really recommended Leapforce, but it can be a bit of a wait.

VanGoghsDog · 09/03/2019 16:46

Not seen Swagbucks mentioned. I use them a lot and have £30 worth of points to convert to vouchers currently.

deepfrieddaffodils · 09/03/2019 16:58

Twllbach you might be interested in OhMyDosh ohmydosh.co.uk/validate/refer_a_friend/welcome/77343?keyword=referred

I just cashed out £45 with them and have another £20 pending, and unlike Quidco they pay in 30 days or less. Everything I did converted OK. You do need to check whether they are duplicating Quidco offers for less cashback on some of the higher-paying gambling ones.

deepfrieddaffodils · 09/03/2019 17:00

VanGoghsDog how long did that take you with Swagbucks? I gave up on them as I got fed up of being rejected by surveys after I'd spent 5 minutes on them.

Fuzzysocksies · 09/03/2019 17:52

After seeing it mentioned so much on these threads I signed up to Appen and have been approved now, and have my first project to work on.
I know someone else mentioned it upthread but I’m worried/confused about how this works re: tax and HMRC? I work full time already and want to do this as extra but how do I declare it etc?

Otterses · 09/03/2019 18:25

@Fuzzysocksies register as self employed Smile it's the easiest way.

Numptysod · 09/03/2019 20:24

@Fuzzysocksies how long from applying to getting accepted on a project I think I missed a quiz or something, applied for Nile and Sakura?

Otterses · 09/03/2019 20:32

@Numptysod is there a tab that says 'academy' when you log in?

My crisp earnings are a mystery Grin my klipfolio login hasn't been sent yet.

Fuzzysocksies · 09/03/2019 20:54

@Numptysod I applied for my first project as soon as my account was activated and it took just over 2 weeks to be approved for it I think

Numptysod · 09/03/2019 21:45

I don’t think account been activated yet? I never seen academy thing?
