Hello I found you all. Having a night where brain won't switch off so gave up on sleeping. So been catching up on thread, photographing more bits to sell and uploading receipts to Shoppix and reading up on matched betting... I'm worried I won't have time to keep up with it all if I start it before I'm sure of what I'm doing! Are we to post our total monies made for Feb? I have a list in my book so il pop that on later. At work in two hours 😑

Otterses · 02/03/2019 05:59

Going to do this properly this month 😊 didn't do too well at keeping track last month!

01/03 - £10.61 LF + £15 on Quidco + £35 payable in oh my dosh I completely forgot about.

Total £60.61/310

(Target might rise to £510, though I'm hoping if I get into Crisp I'll be able to make this up quite easily!)

Full disclosure - I haven't read this properly yet. But it looks like it has some useful sites in there!

And that one Grin

NeverSayFreelance · 02/03/2019 08:23

Hi all! Just curious. I really want to get involved with this because extra cash would be lovely Smile but just curious about whether it needs to be declared as income for taxes? I suppose technically it's work even if it's not formal employment. Anyone know? I don't want to get HMRC sending me angry letters Grin

slipperywhensparticus · 02/03/2019 10:34

any amazon voucher apps around im saving for something and i wont spend it if its in voucher form (i hope)

im looking into doing so much more this month i just need to find the time and for my laptop to last

Otterses · 02/03/2019 12:30

@slipperywhensparticus MobileXpression and Nielson mobile.

Otterses · 02/03/2019 12:31

@NeverSayFreelance anything over a thousand pounds needs to be declared, with the exception of matched betting which is classed as gambling winnings and exempt from tax.

Easiest thing to do is register as self employed Smile

Otterses · 02/03/2019 12:50

@StickyShoess I saw this thread was reccomended to you a few times Smile feel free to join us if you're lurking!

ConfCall · 02/03/2019 12:58

Not a fortune, but I've made about £10 over 3 weeks from the supermarket cash back site GreenJinn, buying things I'd buy anyway.

reddA · 02/03/2019 13:30

@slipperywhensparticus i-say survey site can get you Amazon vouchers (490 points for a £5 voucher) Also using Topcashback you can change your earnings into Amazon vouchers and you get a 2.5% bonus.

StickyShoess · 02/03/2019 13:36

Thankyou Otterses Smile I’m having a good luck through all of the sites mentioned and back through the other threads
When I’d seen the title of this thread I thought you were all a bit delusional (sorry Blush ) but if you’re doing it I want in too Grin
Feeling very smug that I already use Shoppix, and I’m currently taking pictures of a load of random stuff I’ve sorted this morning to put on to Shpock
Right, off to read Smile

butterflykiss00 · 02/03/2019 17:08

I'm is anyone on Appen? I just signed everything after an exam and I'm wondering if I have to declare this as an income to tax credits (uk) ?

Otterses · 02/03/2019 17:37

@butterflykiss00 you'll be best contacting someone about working for Appen with regards to your tax credits. I'm not sure how it would impact them. You need to register as self employed too

@StickyShoess Haha Grin my mum said I was delusional too. I'd look at Crisp Thinking and Leapforce - they'll fit in really well around your little ones.

Also - I'm so sorry if I missed it but do you work? If you don't, you applied for married peoples tax or whatever it's called? You could potentially get a nice cheque for that Smile you transfer over your tax free allowance to your husband, and they'll refund over payments of tax for a few years.

Otterses · 02/03/2019 17:40

https://www.gov.uk/marriage-allowance

That's what I'm thinking of @StickyShoess Smile

Otterses · 02/03/2019 21:10

£10.61 from LF, and 10 competitions entered today Grin aiming for 1000 this month.

StickyShoess · 02/03/2019 21:45

I don’t work atm Otterses but also we’re not married, so not sure if we could claim that? (I’ll be honest I had a read and didn’t totally understand it Blush)

Otterses · 03/03/2019 05:20

🙁 no @StickyShoess, you can't claim if you're not married. I think you can only claim your years married.

Basically as a non worker/earning less than the £11500 or whatever it is a year, you can transfer over some of your tax free allowance which reduces the tax your husband pays until you earn above the threshold to pay tax yourself.

If you've been married years, and for example been unemployed for four years, HMRC would have 'overtaxed' your husband and you'd receive about £800 in a refund.

Otterses · 03/03/2019 09:24

Has everyone been brave and done their Crisp test Blush ? I can't believe how anxious I am about this! Here we go ...

Numptysod · 03/03/2019 09:50

On appen I only done a spelling test?
I sure I've missed something somewhere???

Otterses · 03/03/2019 09:59

Erm. Well that was shocking Shock do NOT think I've passed. Despite getting 100% on all the practice modules.

Whoever said it was right! There's no context given at all, and the 'preview' of the links didn't consistently work for me. Really did not find it user friendly at all - it may just be me, but I had to click through several options of 'batches' to get anything to load. So with no context I'm not sure if I missed something or read too much into things.

A few crashes too Sad so I'm emailing them now ... not holding out much hope. No idea if I managed 60 or not!

Otterses · 03/03/2019 10:02

@Numptysod Appen is just too confusing for me 😂 I'll take a look over on the money shed for you to see if I can figure out if that's all you need to do.

Iamnotahouseelf · 03/03/2019 10:06

Can I join you please? I lurked a little on the last thread and I've picked up a few ideas. We desperately need to make some extra money as we have some debts to pay off (all on 0% cards) and our monthly income only just seems to cover our outgoings.

So far I have signed up to Shoppix, Angelfish and Prolific. I've only had one survey on Prolific for £1 but I don't think I'll count that in my earnings yet as it seems it might be quite hard to get enough surveys done to cash out.

I've listed a couple of things on ebay and I've found some more that can be listed but I don't expect to make a lot on them.

I've also started matched betting again. I did dabble in it a while ago and made a little bit but I'm doing it properly now and I've made about £60 in less than a week which is quite promising.

So, totals for March so far:

Friday - £8.63 from free casino spins on Betfair and William Hill.
Saturday - £17.47 profit on matched betting.

I've got some matched betting that should make some profit for today. I've also found some freelance type work to apply for linked to my proper job and I'm now off to read up on Appen as it seems like a lot of you are doing that.

mummmy2017 · 03/03/2019 10:09

Following.
Made £65 from Facebook selling group.

StickyShoess · 03/03/2019 11:18

Ah I thought so - I told him years ago he should bloody marry me 🙄

I’ve joined a lot few of these sites overnight and I’ve made 78p on topcashback and £2.25 on ohmydosh this morning Grin I’ve signed up to prolific but no studies are available yet 🤷🏻‍♀️

I’ve also got a few bits listed on Shpock and I’ve found a load of old gold that I’m going to take in to a dealer this afternoon so hoping for a few quid there 🤞🏼
