catsmother it's worth borrowing someone's iPhone or getting one second hand if I were you. It will open up many more projects for you, which you don't need to have an iOS device after to use for, you can simply use your laptop to work on.

Otterses · 25/03/2019 16:22

Successful no spend day! Leapforce is done, and I have two hours left to do on crisp when he heads to bed. Going to do some competitions later too (saves me wasting time in bed).

catsmother · 25/03/2019 17:23

Thanks everyone for commenting about Appen. I guess the best thing to do is try and forget it, then if something does come up it'll be a pleasant surprise. Am just a little frustrated as I previously worked via Appen for more than 5 years solid and would love to find a way back in.

@Otterses ... yes, I applied to Lionbridge yesterday. You've got to be in it to win it as they say so we shall see.

Might also have another go at the Crisp quiz .... can't seem to improve on 17 unfortunately.

OrigamiZoo · 25/03/2019 18:40

Hi All, does anybody know how I can re-take Crisp? I got notified I was on the waiting list but didn't get 19/20.

catsmother - I second that idea to try and get a secondhand iphone as a lot of the work is done on one.

FloofenHoofen · 25/03/2019 21:13

I think most of the projects are full at the moment. It's only the newer ones (Cable, Echo, Mobile, Index etc) that they're taking people on for at the moment, and you need an iOS device.
Just borrow someone's if you have to. It's only to hook it up to Appen, you won't actually need it to work on if you qualify.

FoxFoxSierra · 26/03/2019 03:45

Just placemarking as I don't have time to read the whole thread now, looking forward to finding some ways to bring in a bit more cash

Numptysod · 26/03/2019 10:21

I been on waiting list nearly 60 days for 3 projects and not had any new up show up for appen. Finger cross!

Otterses · 26/03/2019 11:35

@Numptysod I feel the same way! I'm finding Crisp really tedious to be honest, so another project would be really welcome.

Couple of rejections on the job hunting front - but I'll happily admit I'm being quite relaxed about job hunting. My inside source has given me the heads up that there's going to be a huge recruitment drive for probation officers on my new area Grin so I just need to hold tight and find something to tide me over so I don't eat into these extra earnings.

I'm also very excited - I have a child free week coming up in a few weeks - so I'm going I see if I can get a few days of random agency work ... so I can feel like a student again Grin

MrsKappa · 26/03/2019 17:03

Just wanted to come on and say a big thank you to everyone on this and the previous thread for introducing me to Appen. I was accepted on to Nile at the end of last month so got my first pay from them last week - I couldn't quite believe it till I actually received the money! My husband lost his second job at the beginning of the year so it's great I've been able to replace that money with this. ThanksThanks

Mamaslave18 · 26/03/2019 17:40

Anybody else find Appen becomes a drag after a week or so? Maybe I will find more motivation once I get paid but I’m finding it very tedious.

Otterses · 26/03/2019 17:44

That's fantastic news @MrsKappa Grin I'm glad this thread has managed to help you and so many others. Appen really is life changing (I remember my first post where everyone thought I was a scammer when I mentioned it!)

Applied for two UTest projects today! The internet testing one, and a similar one for Kindle Fire (no idea how much the second one pays). I'm going to have a more thorough look on there this evening to see what's available.

Numptysod · 26/03/2019 18:30

I just wish for one acceptance to one project I be pleased!

FoxFoxSierra · 27/03/2019 07:11

I signed up for some medical trials a while ago and they keep contacting me but all the recent ones require at least a few nights stay which I can't do

Otterses · 27/03/2019 07:47

That appears to be the same here! Found a great looking one about menstrual cycles, but it was a WEEKS stay.

Otterses · 27/03/2019 08:44

What's everyone on with Crisp by the way?

£42 Grin ...

I've heard back from RecWork incase anyone was going to apply for that admin job that was 3 hours a week from home, they sound like a very genuinely family friendly company, flexible and lovely to work for. They've sent me a few more questions to respond to, and I know I shouldn't be encouraging competitors Wink but I'd really suggest applying.

PineapplePatty · 27/03/2019 09:24

On the crisp waiting list for a few weeks now.

@Otterses how did you get on with your Twitter competitions? Did you have any wins?

Market research is good at the moment, I'm doing one for ten minutes a day for 10 days for £100 and on day 8. Very simple.

margaritasbythesea · 27/03/2019 09:50

Pineapple - which market research company is it. I seem to have missed that. Sounds great.

Otterses · 27/03/2019 10:26

@PineapplePatty Grin when I have a win you're all going to hear about it - that's for sure!

PineapplePatty · 27/03/2019 11:11

It's called FV revolution, through evolve. I'll try and find a link.

Otterses · 27/03/2019 13:21

Upon investigating the competitions I've been entering - I've noticed about 250-1000 seem to enter each. I've concluded I'm just incredibly unlucky Grin but these are still better odds than winning the lottery. I'm going to persevere.

I JUST NEED A WIN. Literally anything will do 🤣

Frenchdoors1 · 27/03/2019 13:24

Hey Pineapple Patty
That FV Revolution looks great.
Please post a link when you can.

Otterses · 28/03/2019 07:35

I've cheated at my no spend week Blush I'm currently hiding in Costa avoiding work. After having to take time off with DS when he was sick last week I'm dreading it. My job share partner has also taken this week off as short notice holiday, citing how much it was stressing her out, so I know I'm going in to a shitstorm.

Roll on the 26th when I can make a proper go of working from home for a bit Grin

Nothing from UTest yet, I sent over the additional information they requested yesterday, so hopefully I'll hear something back this week.

Otterses · 28/03/2019 07:38

Another £10 amazon voucher from the nappy survey thing Grin this must be nearly over now surely!? It's been going on for nearly two months!

SammieOK · 28/03/2019 10:07

Hi mums, has anyone done matched betting before? I've been looking to make a little bit extra (I'd love £10 a day) and I've seen the beatingbetting free beginner course...too good to be true or should I hand over my email address?

reddA · 28/03/2019 11:26

There is no way you can earn £10 per hour with crisp Confused
