I've found you all!!! Phew! Well done everyone! Can anyone give a rough outline of the crisp thing please? Struggling at the moment with lack of surveys and haven't got the money to spend using cashback sites! After weeks of poorly kids back to back I need to pull my finger out!

margaritasbythesea · 04/03/2019 16:54

Does anyone know anything about Tigris on Appen?

WithAllIntenseAndPurposes · 04/03/2019 17:54

Anyone else started doing the crisp moderation?
How are you finding it?
Must admit I've found some very awkward and that haven't really been covered in the training

HaventGotAllDay · 04/03/2019 18:23

Well done Otters! (and others who have passed!)

duffed · 04/03/2019 19:39

Yes - crisp is tricky, the training gives you a general idea - but so many cross several risks, or are replies to initial risks. my favourites are the ones for adobe and lego - so simple.

reddA · 04/03/2019 19:41

Great news on here today! Well done everyone :) Hopefully some will come my way soon, keep us updated on how you're getting on, it's useful to get tips - fingers crossed I'll get in on the next recruitment drive with Crisp and you pro's will be able to help :) Still plodding on with Utest, the unpaid training work is fine, it's the technical set up side that is taking up my whole day!

Otterses · 04/03/2019 19:42

@BelladonnaKebab Crisp is a freelance kind of gig, where you moderate and classify content.

So for example (to put it simply) you are assigned to moderate the comments on a Facebook page for Coke. Someone comments saying they found a worm in their can of Coke Zero, and you flag that as a customer service issue they need to investigate, someone calls the director of coke a 'twat' and you'd flag that as unsuitable due to swearing, etc.

Have a go at the application quiz

Well done @crazygirluk ! Hopefully we can all support each other through this new money making scheme Grin I'm waiting on my log in details. I can't wait to get started.

Otterses · 04/03/2019 19:45

Yes @reddA ! Get on it! It looks like they're having a huge recruitment drive at the moment.

Still have my quiz notes if you need a nudge in the right direction Grin

Your perseverance with UTest is phenomenal! I think it's Rory touching it out. There's a fab bit about it on the blog moneyformummy - she seems to make a good amount of UTest and Whatusersdo.

ivykaty44 · 04/03/2019 20:39

I do use fabric conditioner as well as I like my washing to smell nice

White wine vinegar & essential oil - cheaper

NewYearNewSocks · 04/03/2019 21:49

Finally did the initial wait list stuff and 20 Qs on crisp. What happens next? I’m not sure if I can even do it yet at still 7 months of maternity to go. It’s all confusing rules especially going self employed.

BelladonnaKebab · 04/03/2019 23:33

Thanks @Otterses

Otterses · 05/03/2019 07:34

@NewYearNewSocks are you claiming Smp? If you ring for advice, I'm sure you're allowed to be self employed while on maternity leave.

You should get an email quite quickly with your score Smile then you wait to sign some documents, upload right to wok etc, you then have a final test to do. It seems worth it all though.

lazymare · 05/03/2019 07:38

Crisp takes forever. I eventually dropped out because the number of hours of 'testing' you they want for free is ridiculous.

Otterses · 05/03/2019 08:06

@lazymare do you mean that you charge for the time the task should take as opposed to how long it actually takes? Leapforce operates in a similar way.

mydogisthebest · 05/03/2019 08:12

ivykaty44, I do use white vinegar when I can get it). For some reason it seems more difficult to find (I have moved fairly recently). I do always buy conditioner when it's on offer or just the cheapest one

NewYearNewSocks · 05/03/2019 09:03

@otterses I’m on maternity through my company so still on additional until next month, then smp for 3 months then the final three months with nothing. Definitely says in a few places you can go self employed but trying to figure out how that impacts my employer and maternity pay is more confusing.

margaritasbythesea · 05/03/2019 10:32

Oo! I have just had to sign a second set of docu for Nile! Any idea how long it will take for them to get back to me now? It's about a month since I signed the last lot!

ivykaty44 · 05/03/2019 12:44

Fabric conditioner - I’ve been told, it’s not good for your machine & not good on sports clothing - as it traps sweat 🤷‍♀️

So I never ever purchase. Recently came across a book about using home made alternative laundry products

lazymumsmh · 05/03/2019 15:03

Really confused about Crisp.

I took the initial test a few weeks ago, I can't remember my score but think it was 17? So assumed that was no good. I logged in again today and thought I might give it a another shot after reading about everyone else getting through but then I got distracted, anyway - never did it.

I've just got an email from crisp to say I've moved to the next stage of selection and then some forms to sign and an invitation to the assessment.

Did anyone else get this?

Fizzyboo · 05/03/2019 15:20

Yes lazy, me too.

lazymumsmh · 05/03/2019 15:27

@Fizzyboo aha! I found out I actually scored 18, maybe they decided that was good enough Smile

Fizzyboo · 05/03/2019 15:51

@lazy 18 here too... ahhh that'll do Wink

FloofenHoofen · 05/03/2019 18:15

Wahey found the new thread!

Otterses how long does it normally take to be paid once you've submitted your invoice on Appen?

Otterses · 05/03/2019 18:52

14th of every month unless it falls on a weekend as long as you submit your invoice on the 1st @FloofenHoofen

Still waiting on my Crisp log in Smile done my usual LF bits today.

Going to have whirl at Boom25 in a minute ... I could do with a few dresses for our holiday in April - hopefully I'll win my money back!

reddA · 05/03/2019 19:08

Email from Crisp here too, did the signing - even that confused me tbh, forgot to send my ID so emailed and sent it by email, I think all of these applications have just made me over cautious and prone to fucking everything up!!
Stuck on Utest, my mobile isn't compatible and they are really useless with support so I've spent most of the day trying to figure it out and got nowhere. It's annoying as I can do the tasks and understand everything but technology is scuppering it all (new version of Android isn't compatible with charles) No info on the internet and I'm not one to give up but they really are unhelpful - come to far to quit now but other than buying an older mobile I'm not sure what to do now.
