I know there have been numerous threads on this topic, but I have struggled to understand how to go about getting started. The more I read about it the more overwhelmed I become. Spreadsheets, separate bank accounts , odds, blah blah . It may as well be quantum mechanics!
I need the money for a specific reason so I need to get to grips with it all and get started. I am an intelligent person, I just need to persevere.
I would really appreciate some very basic advice. I know about OddsMonkey and other sites. I have watched the videos and understand the basic concept, but then I am lost. I don't want to make mistakes and lose money.
Help!

I'm looking at trying this. Doing a bit of research at the moment and getting to grips with it. However I just wondered what happens to the 'liability' money that you have to deposit. I'm looking at placing my first bet today and it will be £80.16 that I need to deposit. When the bets are finished later today can i withdraw this together with my profit? And can you withdraw profit immediately?

Pupsiecola, I’m thinking of doing the BET165 soon but I’m a bit confused about the part where you have to turn over the £100 deposit? Does this just mean you need to place a bet of £100 or bets to the value of £100 before they release the free bet - which is the case with most sign ups or is there something more to it?

@bumblingalongway the liability is what you will lose if your bet on on the exchange loses. It's not really a risk of losing it if you do matched betting because what you lose on the exchange you win at the bookie. So that £80 will be available to withdraw either at the bookie or exchange after the bet has settled, depending on which won. The time it takes between you withdrawing and it hitting your account varies, but is usually somewhere between 3-10 days.

I feel physically sick. £25 fb with VBet. Used the slider to select free bet, hit place bet, button still tyere so hit it again. Free bet didn’t work so I staked £50 of my money on a freaking 0-0 draw. Tried to lay as standard bet but not enough in exchnge so could only cover 75% of it. Grrr

Go on BOB in the 25p room, buy 10 tickets. If you get a house stop immediately.

If you don’t carry on till you’ve spent £10 in that room. Tomorrow there will be a code to re-claim the £10.

A full house is £49ish, so you either win £39-47 or lose nothing and try again tomorrow night.

Ah no @Golden0ldie! After faffing witb the lay sequentially stuff too! I feel like the Vbet FB was hard won!

I also placed my £25 FB with VBet this afternoon. I found a really good match which makes £20.67 (pretty good return on £25 FB) but it has a £200 or so liability! Then only £0.08 of it matched! I'm fairly sure that it'll be fully matched nearer the time as it's a big match but not taking place until Sunday. Wah!

jjemima, that’s a brilliant match. I officially hate VBet! Pleaee tell me how you used the free bet on the bet slip. The slider was at fb on and the £25fb was ticked (with little circle thingy) yet it came from my own funds. Wish I had withdrawn my winnings last week! I moved another £80 to exchange and laid some more at lower odds so if my bet loses at bookie, have cut my loss back a bit. I daren’t do the sums!

Fluffy, I can’t do the BOB offer as am in NI and we’re excluded! However, did you do their welcome offer? Was it worth doing?

The word on oddsmonkey is that all the knobs banging on about oddsmonkey, and team profit in the chat rooms mean the £2.50 games been restricted to thurs and fri 🙄

Ah my VBet ACCA lost on the last match so won at the exchange & nothing left in VBet. It's a crap website, but I think I clicked on the slider and it showed the FB being used.

Do you still have the FB to use? If so my match with those odds was Celtic v. St Johnstone this Sunday 9.86 (back)/10.5 (lay - Smarkets). I'm not sure what to do if it doesn't match - I may be in a similar situation to you!

Yes I do jjemima but heaven knows whether I’ll have any momey in the exchanges or whether vbet will have all of it! I’m scared to look! Shall check that match out though, thanks for that.

Maybe not worth it then Fluffy. Have been reading about the Dragonfosh games on OM and the loophole which prevents your cash being used for wagering. Not sure if loophole is still there though.

I think the dragon fish loophole is closed. They now make you wager £10 cash before crediting your bonus funds. I still managed to get £90 profit across 4 sites though.

And for that amount- how many hours.

Also, how long did it take you to get to the point of what you're making now?
