Anti MLM/ Network marketing thread NUMBER 43!!

Spongebobette · 29/09/2018 18:17

This is the 43rd thread in a long series about the dangers of network marketing/ MLMs such as Forever Living, Ariix, NuSkin, Arbonne, Younique, TS Life, and MANY MANY more!
Posts here will give examples of the lies told by 'top bots' who portray luxury lifestyles in order to lure in new victims and of the other techniques and brainwashing used by MLMs
Over 90% of people who join an MLM end up LOSING money. Always bear that in mind when considering paying money to join!

I do wonder what hospice staff or patients think of them.

I suspect they have more important things on their minds like how fragile and precious life is - and too bloody short to waste it on MLM schemes.

JasperRising · 04/10/2018 09:12

And possibly annoyance at having another product that 'may help xxx' touted when they have presumably researched all options out there (or been trained in the case of staff)?

(I have no experience of hospices or rape crisis centres so am wary of assuming that the thoughts of people using those services/working at them towards these packs will be the same as my automatic reactions)

Presumably if there is mad final 3 month dash to try and obtain a cheque, then she’s not looking at a massive cheque? If it’s was gonna be massive then surely that we be in the bag by now and she’s miscalculated so there is the possibility she’ll miss out?

user1484830599 · 04/10/2018 10:02

I still don't understand how a successful businesswoman messes up her figures that badly.

Electrascoffee · 04/10/2018 10:14

How do people know who these people are? Are they Mners?

JasperRising · 04/10/2018 10:22

@Electrascoffee it's mostly from Facebook - people come across them as friends or friends of friends or a sponsored post or a search for a particular MLM or they used to be in an MLM themself. But Mumsnet were threatened by lawyers in the early days of these threads so they can't be named either in posts or private message.

JasperRising · 04/10/2018 10:24

They all have stupidly open Facebook pages and interact with each other so as soon as you have one friend who gets involved or go to the official page for an MLM you can just click on a profile and see everything. Most seem to have no awareness of internet safety around themselves or their families. It's scary.

ArbunneHun · 04/10/2018 10:35

Just give the bloody money to charity AND/OR donate the products for free!

It’s not difficult to be ethical.

Electrascoffee · 04/10/2018 10:39

Ahh, I see.

JasperRising · 04/10/2018 11:28

I am going to risk being preachy here but I have been thinking about how much I can find out about people I have never met. So, to any bots reading this thread - Please, for God's sake, lock down your social media accounts. And if you feel you have to have an open personal facebook page and/or business page, please bear the following tips in mind:

  • Don't post picture of your kids in school uniform or name their school
  • Don't refer to your kids by name
  • Don't give your kid's ages or do birth announcements with date of birth
  • Don't use family nicknames
  • Don't give all the details of your car make and model, and especially not in relation to stories about how far you've come in xxx crappy car
  • Don't post pictures of your home, especially if the area you live in can be worked out from the locations you check into/businesses you use
  • If it is clear where you live, don't post photos of when you are departing on holiday or whilst you are on holiday
  • Don't refer to your pets names

Why does this all matter? After all, we are jealous haters with nothing better to do than stalk strangers. Well:

  1. That list of information, it contains the answers to most common security questions for everything from your email provider to your bank. By making it publicly available, you are doing a hackers job for them

  2. Revealing when your house full of expensive things is empty makes you a target for burglary

  3. Ok, this is perhaps a bit scare mongery but do you really want to tell the whole world your kids names, where they go to school and trusted information that they might reasonably expect only friends and family to know (ie: nicknames they use for family members, their afterschool clubs, what their mum is up to today, what they did at the weekend, where they went on holiday)?

  4. your kids may actually dislike you revealing everything about them to the world

Ok, so revealing one piece of the above information might not be the end of the world but when you put it all out there in one place you are your own security breach

Disclaimer: some bots are good about not doing the above but so, so many are indulging in risky online behaviour

This is one of the many things about driving that you only learn after passing your test.

Everyone is in the same boat. It is the same with very very heavy rain on a motorway. Visability goes down to nothing. That was a huge shock to me!

ArbunneHun · 04/10/2018 12:50

Wig ‘n’ Sleaze are powercoupled up again... phew!

Scammy love conquers all.

dickiedavisthunderthighs · 04/10/2018 13:35

One of Yawn's downline is getting a LOT more active since she got married recently.
She's also been peddling the 'packs' but these are for new mothers in maternity units. She's shifted loads of them by the looks of things and a lot to local companies. All adding cc's so Yawn can get her Chairman's Bonus. It makes me want to kick things.

YouOKHun · 04/10/2018 14:02

Could someone pm me [Hun] the ID of Stick and Rasher Bot (mentioned at the end of the previous Fred) I thought I had all the names but these two are mysteries - thanks!

user1484830599 · 04/10/2018 14:05

God no one is safe, cancer patients, rape victims and now neonatal mother's. Vile, the lot of them.

YouOKHun · 04/10/2018 15:30

@bangingOn there are a few stories of Arbonne on the Timeless Vie blog and on mlmtruth.org. Recently a friend of mine has gone public with her diagnosis of breast cancer and is now being persistently targeted by an Arbonne bot to use both the Vegan skincare but also the ‘wellness’ products. I’m seeing this friend next week and the bot will be present and I plan to publically eviserate her - I’ve HAD ENOUGH of the targeting of unwell and therefore anxious people by mlm and the hijacking of charitable causes. The gloves are off!

BangingOn · 04/10/2018 15:35

Wow You that is horrendous. Thanks for the info, I will search out some links.

I’m also very sad to see a school Mum suddenly plugging Avon after losing her newborn baby just a few weeks ago. I’ve no idea who has recruited her but I know what I’d like to do to them.

Electrascoffee · 04/10/2018 15:53

The bots would never close down social media as it's the main lesson they are taught about how to recruit poor unsuspecting people.

JasperRising · 04/10/2018 15:59

@Electrascoffee I know Sad Though a few of them seem to manage on limited profiles. I just get so annoyed when I realise that I know the maiden name, children's names, primary school, pets, extended family, partner's name and place of work for someone I have never met/have a vague historical connection to just by spending a few minutes on Facebook. It's so naive.

spanfan · 04/10/2018 20:00

The pamper kits make me so angry. I've had to stop reading. 😂😂

In other news, one of my "fave" Valentus bots has added doTerra to her repertoire.

She has started using their toothpaste and basically posted that she has no pain, and so she has saved £1700 as she no longer needs root canal. She stops millimetres short of health claims. Well, that's what she will say....

Two days later she's complaining of a conjunctivitis type condition. The irony, irony. 😂😂😂😂😂

leasedaudi · 04/10/2018 20:24

Omgz guys, quickly, everyone guess what colour yawn's highlights will be this month?

Oh.. the same pink / fading to blonde as she has had every month for god knows how long.

Move along now, nothing to see here!

OhMyGodTheyKilledKenny · 04/10/2018 21:47

Just another opportunity for everyone to suck up to her and tell her how wonderful, beautiful and amazing she is

Can they not see the reality? Do they not see the desperation? Can they not see through the "positive packs" and how they are all about Yawn's CCs?

Norma27 · 05/10/2018 06:45

She really does love herself, and I’ve never seen anyone fish for compliments as much as she does.
I notice her bff is also doing the vile pamper packs too. The sooner fl implodes and these bots lose everything the better.
I do feel sorry for the lower down bots who have been conned out if their money by the likes of yawn.

JasperRising · 05/10/2018 08:54

Meanwhile, the top FL bots are starting to arrive in Arizona because isn't it wonderful how this company treats its business owners, so much more generous than other companies, so grateful to Rexy and his family, yada yada, sycophantic gushing etc
