Anti MLM/ Network marketing thread NUMBER 43!!

Spongebobette · 29/09/2018 18:17

This is the 43rd thread in a long series about the dangers of network marketing/ MLMs such as Forever Living, Ariix, NuSkin, Arbonne, Younique, TS Life, and MANY MANY more!
Posts here will give examples of the lies told by 'top bots' who portray luxury lifestyles in order to lure in new victims and of the other techniques and brainwashing used by MLMs
Over 90% of people who join an MLM end up LOSING money. Always bear that in mind when considering paying money to join!

Is Utility Warehouse classed as mlm?
I’ve just got home to a laminated A4 letter from a distributor. On one side it says in big letters ‘Please do not throw away. I will return to collect, thank you’ . Which means she’ll be returning to try and sign me up.

Any ideas as to what I can say? I’ve never confronted an mlm bot face to face before but I’d like to be able to say something meaningful to them. And not just ‘ I don’t agree with them’ which is probably all I’d feel brave enough to say on the spur of the moment.

Twentytwentyhindsight · 29/10/2018 17:09

Definitely an MLM. My OH signed us up for phone and internet at some bot exchange, presumably hoping to trade FLP gunk.

As a customer, service has been patchy at best.

My feeling re. the laminated sheet is that, like in most MLMs, the hapless bot has to pay for and create all the promotional materials, hence the need to come back and collect for reuse.

Maybe this could be your starting point- "how much time and money do you have to spend on this compared to the returns - have you ever really sat down and worked this out?"

Don't expect too much from the conversation, as the bot may be in the eager first flush of "bizness building", but you may be able to sow some seeds of doubt...

CheekySmile · 29/10/2018 18:47

Can you just leave the laminate outside your door for them to collect?

Or if not then remember ‘No.’ is a complete sentence. You don’t need to justify saying anything more.

RussellTheRaven · 29/10/2018 18:59

I'd leave the laminate outside. I assume that's why it's has been laminated...to remain waterproof. Bot will be back for it!

Leave the laminated sheets with some laminated anti MLM website print-outs stapled or bound to them!

Or just throw them out 😂

SSDGM · 29/10/2018 20:07

Bbl is wanting a nose job. There’s some serious body dysmorphia going on there.

sparkleyes · 29/10/2018 20:26

Just thought I'd share this here

Norma27 · 29/10/2018 21:05

She really is a PLUM!
She really does know how to big herself up doesn’t she. Calling herself WONDER WOMAN.
Bloody SCAMMER more like.

BSintolerant · 29/10/2018 21:53

Y A W N' S diamond handbag looks like a cross between a merkin and a solar panel. I suppose it's a good thing if you want a power surge in your nether regions.

Too heavy to fly 🤣🤣 - comedy gold!

Dora
I found her quite easily when I googled 'the sun' with 'juice plus' - it's on the first page

OhMyGodTheyKilledKenny · 29/10/2018 22:11

Especially if you also add " pregnant" and "weight loss"

Tizzlebizzle · 29/10/2018 22:43

Her poor DH is G R I E V I N G wtf is she doing??? H E L L O!! That woman is so shallow I genuinely can't believe she is so crass.

entruprenot · 30/10/2018 00:54

You know I don't think UW is allowed to do that now. It's probably considered cold marketing and against the new GDPR regulations. People talk about HMRC but I know a lady who is FIGHTING the mlm system and telling them they need to register with the ICO and be GDPR compliant by law.
Unfortunately, most uplines are trying to get her blocked left right and centre because they are worried she'll scare people off.

leasedaudi · 30/10/2018 03:22

GDPR is less worried about hard copy / snail mail. :( unless the person saves your name with your address. They can just send it to "the resident" of your address. Or so I believe.

ArbunneHun · 30/10/2018 06:24

Eeeek huns! I’ve had a bot approach via LinkedIn - shall I play along...?

user1484830599 · 30/10/2018 06:57

God via LinkedIn? Is no one safe?!

OhMyGodTheyKilledKenny · 30/10/2018 07:14

Go on Arbunne, take one for the team !

DownThePan · 30/10/2018 07:46

Why is Yawn calling her team 'needy' in some posts from Success Day?

user1484830599 · 30/10/2018 08:24

I found that quite 'mean girls' @DownThePan, like she was doing them a favour by being their friend. Im assuming it is some success day in-joke that us mere mortals aren't party to.

JasperRising · 30/10/2018 08:29

According to a high up FL bot (so in a position to filter information down) talking about the new masks, bio cellulose means it's backed by science and this is something other companies won't invest in.

Not sure whether to start with the fact that the first statement means nothing or the idea that other companies don't invest in science... I mean maybe a local, selling at fairs handmade soap and moisturiser type company doesn't do their own science but FL is a global company etc etc so they are surely comparing themselves with Garnier, Nivea, L'Oréal, Clarins, elemis etc and I'm fairly certain they invest in research.

DownThePan · 30/10/2018 08:44

@user1484830599 Yes must be some in joke although I'm sure Y A W N would hate it if they all stopped being needy and abandoning her like Stickwife has done. (Not sure if that's her Bot name, the one whose fella makes Blair Witch Project-style home decor out of twigs)

Sunshineandshowers81 · 30/10/2018 09:09

BBL bots most recent live clearly confirms that she was paid to have her bbl surgery or given it free for publicity before the company. She denied it at the time as a lot of people called her out for promoting it just weeks after another girl died. Of she didn't get it for free or get paid why would she be so quick to do a live just to say that elite were not to blame for her being ill and how much she loves them. she really is such a low person

SSDGM · 30/10/2018 09:23

Absolute living proof that you cannot buy class.
