WANTED: 12 lovely mums for a new book club

Hello, My name is Dominique, I am a keen reader and I just find this idea of a book club fabulous. I was too late for joining the last thread s I guess the best is to start a new one. I am a mother of 2 (3 years and a great reader of 12) My house is full of books (in french and english.....

Hi Wiseoldelf, Manandomi is the one who started this swap off. She does not come on here too often, but she would be the one who could organise to add you in. On the other hand I would be happy to send a book to you if you gave me your home address (contact me on directioneeded at aol dot com), then you could send a book to LOLER, who I would be sending to. - I would give you her address when you contact me. I was planning to get to the post office this morning, but the car is not liking the freezing cold, so won't be able to until the beginning of next week. So, if you want to join in, contact me if you like.

But wiseoldelf, equally if there is another swap starting that you would like to jion in with from the start, then feel free to.

Is everyone OK with that? If anyone objects, please let me know. Or if anyone has any other thoughts. I am easy!

I have an unwell child at the moment so will get to the post office on Monday. Also, will set up a thread on the book I have just finished. Where does the time go - I don't seem to get anything done.

Have posted my next book onto Flying Cloud - it will leave on Monday so you should get it Tuesday or Wednesday.

Sorry, for not getting back earlier but I hadn't seen you'd replied to my post.

I'll e-mail you with my address and we can take it from there. I don't think I'll be ready to send a book out for a while though, I've been snowed in since Christams, and I don't think it will be shifting anytime soon!

Hi everyone,
Can I be a bit bossy and ask everyone to send out their books by the end of this week at the latest? (snow willing?)

If we are to send out the next one by the beginning of February we need to get a move on.

At this rate the swap will last 2 years! (Plus I could do with some reading matter!)

Jamais, thank you, I received your book this morning, which is of course, Walkthedinosaur's book.

I am really looking forward to reading it, as like you, I was seriously short of reading matter and had resorted to an old favourite to keep me going (actually A Suitable Boy, so I am glad there is a bit of a theme, but shall say no more!) and have just ordered a couple from Amazon as I am working pt in advance of maternity leave at the moment.

I sent out my first received book AGES ago in a fit of organisation before Christmas, so hopefully LoveBeingAMummy will get on better with that than my original one... I think I failed at the first hurdle by sending out a book that you weren't able to finish, so apols there. Hopefully I won't block the group with an unfinishable book.

Although when the baby arrives (due in four weeks time) I may not have time to read any more books - ever.

Good to hear you got it flyingcloud - hope you like it better than my choice !

Am a bit about it because I totally misunderstood the concept of the book chain and thought we would be sending on about 12 books in total, so I just picked one at random from the pile that I didn't mind NOT getting back!

That is not to say I didn't like that book, I had actually read it a couple of times, but it's not exactly a classic!

Hope I can get the next book to you before the baby comes, I have still not had a second book from walkthedinosaur.

Mine is all packed up and ready to be sent, but snow is stopping me getting to the post office at the moment and stopping the post man delivering, so hopefully all will be sorted soon.

Wiseoldelf - I will answer your email in the morning when I am more awake! Sorry, absolutely knackered from too much tobogganning today!!

Flying I am fully epectng everyone to post about how wonderful your book is and what is wrong with me brain just wasn't in a fit state i think.

Where is everyone? You'd think if we were all holed up in the snow we'd have time to read and post?

I have to say if I don't get the next book in the next week or so I will be tempted to give up.

jamaisjedors - Please don't give up. I know it is frustrating when it is not as smooth as it should be. I am not sure where Mamandomi is, perhaps she could come and sooth things out.
I literally cannot get to my post office at the moment. I will as soon as I can get my car off my driveway. Hopefully everyone will do the same.
who is sending to you? Can you find out directly what is going on from her? Last month I did not receive my book when everyone else did, (see the posts) but when I knew what was happening I stoppped being frustraed about it and we got there in the end.

Loler - wiseoldelf is now sending to you.

Where is everyon else? Have you sent/received yet? Please post and let us know what is happening.

I am posting on to MD and will do as soon as can get to post office - should be monday.

I have finished my book and now just need to report on it.

I am epxecting to receive a book from Loler - but she hasn't been on here for a while.

I agree it would be good if we could get things running a bit more smoothly but the snow hasn't really helped with this.

Hello sorry I am around but have been without internet since the beginning of the year. Just got back on line a couple of hours ago - yippee. Jamais I am going to find your address and post your book tomorrow afternoon if that's OK.

I have failed miserably though as RL got in the way and I didn't finish it but the first 120 pages were pretty good

To be honest jamais I've lost track of time as well really thought it was about the 6th of Jan (eek) but your book is all labelled up and in my bag to go to the Post Office - I'll do it before I pick the DC's up because it's not open when I drop them off (you know how early these French schools start).

MD if you can post the next book on to me that would be great, I don't have many free hours in a week for reading so if I'm going to finish a book the sooner I start the better

Don't worry wtd, I was just a bit concerned that everyone seemed to have disappeared and we said we would aim for the start of the month.
