WANTED: 12 lovely mums for a new book club

Hello, My name is Dominique, I am a keen reader and I just find this idea of a book club fabulous. I was too late for joining the last thread s I guess the best is to start a new one. I am a mother of 2 (3 years and a great reader of 12) My house is full of books (in french and english.....

Jamais have posted your book so you should get it in tne next couple of days.

Again sorry for the delay - if I get my book from MD I promise I'll be more on the ball at the end of the month.

HC - book posted today, if the postman can get through the snow you should get it very soon! My sister lives in Chalford and tells me it's coming down thick and fast so have fingers crossed for you xo

Wiseoldelf - got the book this morning - looking forward to starting it. sadly won't be able to do day time reading as can't drive with wrist so ds2 stuch at home (not nursery!)

Ps wish i'd been doing something fun when injured, I was deicing the car! We didn't even have much snow either. [sorry for self smiley]

Thanks Loler got the bok this morning. Yes the snow is coming down thick and fast so haven't made it to the post office to post the book to MD. Do you think MD is still around or should I post the book to you WTD so you don't end up without a book. Maybe we should decide by the end of the week as I don't think I'll make it to a post office before then.

HI HC1 shall we give it till Friday night and if I still haven't heard anything/received anything from MD we make a decision.

Looks like PA is still waiting for her book too (weren't we here this time last month?)

Have "cat"ed mamandomi and asked her to reply to me or to the thread by Friday if she still wants to be in.

When you look at her profile she hasn't posted on any other threads at all apart from this one.

Lovebeingamummy - Just asking if your book was sent when you said you were going to send it, as nothing has arrived here!

Just finished a fantastic book and I'd like to know whether i will receive yours soon so that I can judge whether to start a quick book now, or a longer one as I hate being without reading matter!

I asked Mamandomi to reply by tonight if she wanted to still be in.

There is no sign of her anywhere on mn or on email.

Do those without books want to wait any longer or do we rejig tomorrow?

Well, I don't think my side can be rejigged for this month as it would mean someone sending out another book. However, If LBAM wants out, then who sends to her? Perhaps they could send direct to me for February and I will add another book in to send on for then.

I think whoever sends to MD should send direct to WTD for February too, as I think January's is probably already sent.

Sorry, I know what i mean in my head but this now sounds a bit more complicated. Are you following me?

I've got lots of free periods at work next Thursday as lots of kids are on work experience so it would be great if I had a book to pass the time.

Hi Jamaisjedore thanks for the offer of a book, very kind of you, but I am not short of books here. I am finding it frustrating because I keep starting and finishing short books, waiting for this one to arrive. I have a few "humdinger" books - Edward Rutherfurd 1000+ pages, that I am dying to jump into, but if the book arrives then I won't be able to start it until I have finished what I am reading. This means I wouldn't be ready to post on again when I am supposed to.

Could I ask you a favour? Could you please "Cat" Lovebeingamummmy? I do not do these Cat's and I am not sure if this is possible, but could you just find out if she is in or not? Then I would at least know what to do for the next few weeks, until we do February's.
Who posts to Lovebeingamummy? Could you please email me and I can let you have my home address, if she does want out? Thanks.

Hi

I will send my Jan book to WTD as I had delayed in sending it and waiting to see if MD is in. WTD I have your address from last time when we were in this position. I will do my best to send it tomorrow but my son has come down with a stomach bug today.

Lets hope this can run smoothly from now on.

I know how you feel about waiting for the books to arrive, this is why I was saying I would abandon really if we don't get going properly because I am putting off reading other stuff waiting for my book.

I have one now, it looks like you will be waiting til Feb for yours, sorry.

Sorry - didn't realise that everyone was having probs.

Yes I sent my first book (jamaisjedors' book) on to LBAM as soon as I had finished it.

I have received my second book and I will send it on again as soon as I have finished if that is ok - unless there is a change of plan as I am due to give birth at the beginning of February and I don't want to hold the thread up then.
