The thirteenth tale - Diane Setterfield
Year of Wonders - Geraldine Brooks

The only book mentioned so far that I have read is 'Coastliners' but it was years a go.

Not read any of the books mentioned - I'm off to look at my shelves (although all of yours sound much better than the trash I've got on mine!)

loler · 05/11/2009 19:20

waded through the chicklit to get to:

Mudbound - Hillary Jordan
The host - Stephanie Meyer (thought I would hate it but loved it)
The kite runner - Khaled hosseini

positiveattitudeonly · 05/11/2009 19:34

Hi am I too late to join in? I am always missing these threads and seeing them too late.

I am just off out, but if someone can let me know if I can hop in, I will look on my shelf tomorrow and choose 5 books.

positiveattitudeonly · 05/11/2009 19:35

Oh hi WTD didn't realise it was you there!

walkthedinosaur · 05/11/2009 20:08

Hello PAO I'm just everywhere these days. Hi Loler the only one of yours I've read is The Kite Runner - but it's a great book, I couldn't put it down.

jamaisjedors · 05/11/2009 20:11

Hello - another French one here (well English in France).

Do you need anyone else? Not quite sure of the principal of the thing?

flyingcloud · 05/11/2009 21:25

jamais - I think we can fit you in! This is nearly a French thread!

Loler... sorry to be a pain I have read Mudbound and The Kite Runner (enjoyed them both)

My replacement book is Past Imperfect by Julian Fellowes.

Hi there,

Mamandomi I have read the Chinese Cinderella. _loved it!

WTD - I've read Its not about the bike - great read, love the man, He's amazingly inspirational.

loler - Also read the Kite Runner. Again a brilliant book.

I will post my books in the morning as I have had a little wine tonight, so thinking straight is not my forte!

I am English, living in England! Actually, the Isle of Wight. Sorry to go against the grain! I really don't mind posting across to France if that helps.

Will check in tomorrow.

walkthedinosaur · 06/11/2009 06:56

If it helps I can be the one who brings books to France or sends them back the UK. DH works in London so he commutes back and forth at weekends so he can always bring the books to France if you post to him or I give them to him to take back to the UK and he can post them on. Whichever is easiest - although it's probably cheaper to send books to France than it is to send books from France, so maybe I should be the one posting back to the UK.

Will try and find another book to replace it's not about the bike - it's hard to get English books here so I might have to wait until next Thursday and go to the Book Exchange.

flyingcloud · 06/11/2009 06:58

Yes I'm happy to post to England/Northern Ireland. Sorry for double post up there!^^

LoveBeingAMummy · 06/11/2009 07:11

Am I too late to join?

If answer the answer is no, can I still join is I am not french/don't live in france?

positiveattitudeonly · 06/11/2009 07:23

Morning,

Have looked at the last 5 books I read and here they are:

Miss Fit by Maria Beaumont
Dublin by Edward Rutherfurd
The 19th Wife by David Ebershoff (I will be surprised if someone has not read this one!)
Blackbird by Jennifer Lauck
Remember Me by Lesley Pearse

I have noticed though that I am supposed to be a "lovely mum" to qualify. As long as you promise not to speak to one of my 5DC's I will try to bluff my way through that one!

ScaredOfCows · 06/11/2009 07:48

Is it too late to join?? Would love to if there is space.

HC1 · 06/11/2009 09:00

Just realised one of my books should say Kitchen God's wife not Litchen as I put.

Only book I have read that anyone has mentioned is The Kite Runner - which is a brilliant book. I also loved Thousand Splendid Sun by the same author.

Can't wait to get started.

Helen

mamandomi · 06/11/2009 09:03
