Hello, My name is Dominique, I am a keen reader and I just find this idea of a book club fabulous. I was too late for joining the last thread s I guess the best is to start a new one. I am a mother of 2 (3 years and a great reader of 12) My house is full of books (in french and english.....

HC1 STOP I've just received my book from MamanDomi in today's post. She sent it on 24th so it's taken a week or so to get here, so I think you need to keep posting to her as she's obviously in.

I think she's a bit bogged down with RL at the moment which is why she's been a bit email/mumsnet silent but she's obviously still up for the book club and I think would be really upset if she gets missed out. As long as we know she's still in the loop we should continue to send to her.

Plus she sent me Cadbury's chocolate too and that stuff is like gold dust over here, so I love her she's top stuff.

Mamandomi I hope you log on and get to read this eventually thanks for the books and chocolate I'm looking forward to both.

I am really pleased to hear that WTD.

Patiently waiting here still, but not nagging LBAM, cos I know things are manic with you. I hope your DC is feeling better. I will plan to throw a duvet day to catch you all up! {grin]

HC1 · 04/12/2009 08:54

Really please to hear MD is still in.

Now I better get on with reading my book. Am 12 weeks pregnant and have a brain like a sieve at the moment - can't concentrate for more that a page. Can just about cope with my 2 year's old books.

Happy reading everyone

Helen

PositivelyFestive · 05/12/2009 11:02

Lovebeingamummykissingsanta - Could you please let me know when you have posted the book so that I know when to expect it as I am beginning to get a little concerned it has been lost in the post.

mamandomi · 07/12/2009 11:38

hello I am so sorry not to have posted for so long but we have all been ill here, that is me and my 2 girls and it is quite tough as I am on my own with them.( in fact the eldest is still off school and so am I) Also at the same time I was extremelly depressed by a summom to court in belgium for attending to a divorce I did not know before 6 weeks ago it is a long story which I shan t bore you with but between a sick house and all my other problems I could not cope with anything else. I am glad to see that my book has arrived safely in france and I also receive my book, thank you.
Now I am going to read the thread, I hope you have all received your bookshappy reading!

Welcome back Mamandomi, sorry life has been a bit tough at the moment. I hope you and your daughters are feeling better soon.

I am still waiting for my book to arrive from Lovebeingamummy and so have nothing to pass on if everyone is going to be doing the next swap soon. Hopefully LBAM will post it soon and I will try to catch up. - I have been bookless for over a week and reading magazines is driving me mad, so I am going to start a different book here tonight as I cannot be reading-less any longer! So now I will have to finish that one before i can start any book that does arrive! (Hope you understand that! )

PositivelyFestive · 09/12/2009 07:16

EVERYONE ON THIS THREAD - please forgive me for getting bossy once again, but I would really like to get this sorted.

Has everyone else recieved their first book? - except me?

Has anyone started a thread about that book?

Have you finished reading yet?

Would you like to have a week or two off over Christmas and arrange to post the first book on again between 27th December and 3rd January?

Can I suggest that everyone posts on here when you have sent your book and also when it is received?

Lovebeingamummy - I have not recieved your book yet. Are you in or out?

Flyingcloud - I understand that you posted to lovebeingamummy, but nothing has come from her, so can you contact me if she is not wanting to continue? (directioneeded at aol dot com) so that I can actually get a book and be part of this.

Loler - At the moment I have not received a book, so have nothing to post on to you. I am reluctant to send another book from my shelf unless I know that this is going to work out. (Or I will just end up losing a book each month and having nothing sent to me. [selfish emoticon])

Really hope this swap can continue, but can everyone help me out here and let me know how things are going with you all?

Thanks

LoveBeingAMummyKissingSanta · 09/12/2009 07:38

So sorry have now posted. Family stuff going on so am in a bit of a spin at the mo.

I am having trouble with the book I am reading just struggling to get into, might just be my head though.

Let me know when everyone wants to pass on and will do even if not finished.

Don't worry you'll fly through mine!

walkthedinosaur · 09/12/2009 08:07

Hi I'm up for waiting till after Christmas to post on my book (haven't had time to start it yet). I like the idea that we all post within a particular period of time so that we all receive a new book around the beginning of the month.

I'll aim to post my book at the end of December. Will put up a post on the thread to let you know when it's sent.

If anyone else has any thoughts on how we can get this group running a bit more smoothly stick them on the thread, this first month has been a bit of a mess.

jamaisjedors · 09/12/2009 17:51

Ok with me to send on at the start of the month.

Can we make a fresh start in January and aim to send on our new books within the first week of each month?

If people haven't finished for some reason I think they should send on anyway (this gives us an incentive to get on with it, knowing you have a deadline, I know myself that I have put aside the book I was sent because I was given a really easy read for my birthday and am too knackered for anything else atm.

loler · 09/12/2009 22:47

Just finished my book.

I'm happy to send on at the begining of each month - seems to be an easy time to remember.

Happy reading - sounds like everyone now has a book.

Hope RL sorts itself out xo

PositivelyFestive · 09/12/2009 23:13

Thanks for all posting.

LBAM thanks for sending the book. I will post when it arrives, it may take a little longer than normal mail, cos of where I live.

Loler, did you like it? I'd love to know what you thought, have you started a thread?

Feeling far more positive now. Hopefully all our glitches have been sorted and it will now run like clockwork

HC1 · 10/12/2009 07:35

I am happy to send on at the beginning of January as I have only read 5 pages so far. Hope everone is now sorted with their books.

Helen

LoveBeingAMummyKissingSanta · 10/12/2009 08:32

Phew I'm not the only one that hasn't got very far then. Happy with the start of the month so shall we say that we will all post by the 1st of the month then? Especially as some books are going to take longer to arrive than other?

flyingcloud · 10/12/2009 10:51

Hi,

I have received, read and posted on my first book.

Is it ok to send on as soon as I have finished as long as it is by the 1st of the month? As mentioned, being abroad and often travelling for work (and expecting my first child) means that as soon as I finish it's better for me to send on.

So, I have now sent my book and jamaisjedors book on to LoveBeingAMummy.

I have started a thread on jamaisjedors book.

Hope that helps!

Happy reading everyone.

LoveBeingAMummyKissingSanta · 10/12/2009 12:26

Arrrrrggggghhhhh Flying have just received your book. Starting to feel pressure now as haven't got on too well with my first one. Seriously just send on when you like, I'd would send mine on if I'd finished it too.

mamandomi · 10/12/2009 22:11

just finished my first book. LOVED it and I will send it on soon, since it is going to france it takes a bit more time. Maybe more chocolate on the way ;-)........ and a wee Xmas surprise

Glad you loved the book MD.

I still haven't made much progress with the one I am reading as we have all had a stomach bug. Are you happy to wait till beginning of Jan to receive

PositivelyFestive · 11/12/2009 15:54

LBAM- I have received your book today, Thank you.

LoveBeingAMummyKissingSanta · 28/12/2009 09:24

Are we agreed then to pass on for the 1st?

FlyingReindeer · 29/12/2009 10:40

Eagerly awaiting my second book! I have nothing to read at the moment...

Just wondered though - the first is the end of this week and only mamandomi and I have started threads on our books. Is everyone getting on ok with theirs?

Happy New Year everyone.

Wiseoldelf · 31/12/2009 10:46
