WANTED: 12 lovely mums for a new book club

Hello, My name is Dominique, I am a keen reader and I just find this idea of a book club fabulous. I was too late for joining the last thread s I guess the best is to start a new one. I am a mother of 2 (3 years and a great reader of 12) My house is full of books (in french and english.....

If something has happened to MD and she's dropped out I think you need to contact her and try and get your book back. Just send me whatever.

FlyingCloud I think you were sending to Lovebeingamummy and she seems to have disappeared from the group too. Do you want to contact me as well on the email in the post above and I will forward your details onto POA who she was supposed to be sending to and then maybe you can post to her instead, that way we will keep our group going.

If she's dropped out of the group maybe you should contact Lovebeingamummy and get your book back.

I think that's it. Anybody give me a shout if you can see a hiccup in anything, but at the moment with the two drop outs the group will finish and we're all going to lose our books.

I'm confused, I've been away for a while, but I posted my book (Friday 20th) and I've finished the book that jamaisjedors sent me and was just about to start a thread about it. Are we starting again?

I think everyone needs to confirm when they've sent and when they receive the books.

Hi Flyingcloud, Glad to have you back. Don't worry this now looks as if it is going to be sorted out and between us we can keep this going.
Basically, in a nutshell, Myself and Walkingthedinosaur have yet to receive a book, although lovebeingamummy is sending to me shortly. Mamandomi does not seem to be around, despite emails being sent to her and messages on here. She has not sent her book on to Walkingthedinosaur. So we will be able to keep going by HC1 sending to WTD.
If its ok with you, can you just bear with us for a while until we catch up with where you are?

YOu could start a thread for the book you have read, if thats ok with you. Do we all start a thread, or does one person start all the threads?

Has everyone else finished their book? How do you all feel about doing the next swap in a couple of weeks when I have caught up with you? WTD may not have a book to pass on as she has not received one.

flyingcloud yes thanks, sorry have been a bit all over, dd not very well.

If I remember correctly I think once you have read your book (well done byw) you start the thread. I know dom had said to not put the title of the book in but wouldn't bother me how about everyone else?

I think people started a thread saying "jamaisjedors's book" for example.

I'm not bothered about whether we put the title of the book in the thread or not, depends if people want to get a surprise.

I haven't started my book yet but once I get started I will be pretty quick I think.

Shall we aim to send our books on before Christmas?

Say in 2 weeks from now? It would be nice to have something new to read for the holidays.

JJ I think a couple of weeks should be fine. As soon as I get mine I will get to read it, as long as lovebeingamummy has not sent War and Peace, or a mammoth epic, I should be OK. >
I don't have a problem with putting the book title on a thread, it would probably make life a bit easier.

Actually, that's fine LBaMKS - I will go to Blockbusters and get the dvd out, sound all knowledgeable and no-one will know! It worked for A-level English Lit, so well practised!!
You could always send "Guess How much I love you..." My favourite book, but i will pretend I have never read it before, just like my kids did every night for many months.

I'm still a billy no mates and have no one sending to me. MamanDomi has disappeared and HC1 I need you to email me so I can send you my address so you can post to me to keep chain going (and that you don't lose your books).

But it sounds like you guys are having fun with lots of nice books.

LBAMKS - I am a bit of a blubber at sad films and books (my DCs refuse to come to the cinema with me after crying rather loudly all through "Just like Heaven") Just popped into town to buy some ultra waterproof makeup so no-one will notice! Streaks of mascara all down my face would give the game away! Ready and waiting!

HC1 has contacted me and I've sent her my address so hopefully things should get going again.

Have no idea what has happened to MD hope she's OK as she went to such a lot of trouble to set this up and then disappear like that.

Glad you're enjoying the book Jamais it was a birthday present and I didn't think it was my cup of tea, but it was a really nice surprise when I read it.
