WANTED: 12 lovely mums for a new book club

Hello, My name is Dominique, I am a keen reader and I just find this idea of a book club fabulous. I was too late for joining the last thread s I guess the best is to start a new one. I am a mother of 2 (3 years and a great reader of 12) My house is full of books (in french and english.....

HC1 - On face book, if you type "Lovely MN Bookswap Group" into the search link thing it should come up.

30th is fine by me!

Wiseoldelf - If you glance this I will post on tomorrow, if you dont come on here i will put a note in about the FB group and checking in on this thread.

Do the search then click on 'Groups' on the left handside - it appears there (also couldn't find it for a bit!

Loler - Lol at having too much time - I wish!!! I am really not that into facebook, but it has its uses!!

Have "accepted" you both. I think we need Lovebeingamummy and wiseoldelf, now. Is that everyone? Oh and cariboo if she wants to carry on with it.

Any sign of last months book arriving with you LBAM? I am in no hurry because I have loads to read at the moment, so just read and send on when you are ready.

HI LBAM;
Cariboo has emailed me.

She has 2 books but hasn't read either.

I have suggested that I post to you LBAM this month, she holds onto those books and reads 1 this month to post to you at the end of May.

I think it will mean she doesn't read one of the books, but that's not really a problem.

Can anybody see a whole in my logistics? (weak point of mine!)

Sorry, I am getting confused with real names and MN names LBAM I think we will need to do a whole introduction thingy on facebook when everyone is set up so that we know who we are talking to. (Or is it just my brain that is old and cant cope with two sets of names and trying to link them together. I have a terrible memory for names at the best of times, let alone two random names each!!)
I have set the facebook group up as a closed group which means that nobody can see any posts at all unless they are accepted as "one of us!" so anonimity should not be a problem with real life crossing over into mumsnet, if you get me.

Your plan looks good to me JJ. I will have to do a months catch up at the end I think, so someone will be a little late getting their own book back, but I will post it on as soon as I have finished, which can just be a few days if its a good one!

LBAM - When you do get the books from Cariboo,(I realise this wont be any time soon, probably if JJ's plan goes ahead) could i possibly ask you to read the religious cult one first and post it on to me, as the other one is mine, so it doesn't matter if I dont get that one for another couple of months.

To be totally honest I think we have not done too bad. Having a snoop on the other threads some of them are passing on 2 or even 3 books at a time, which means they must have had months of nothing. Communication is key though and we are less likely to let each other down, or get cross with each other if we can communicate about what is going on.

I don't want to cause any problems but I would love to re-join the group, although I am happy to wait until the next cycle (if you all still have the morale to continue).

FC hello how are you? How's your lovely baby? Seeing as it's you I'm pretty sure we can fit you back in. I think we've got another month or two to go and then we'll restart - I don't think I've had your book yet so I'm looking forward to reading it.

Hi FC, glad all is going well for you. I'd also be very happy for you to rejoin, I think the problems we've had have been mostly from lack of communication.

Hopefully we'll get it sorted.

HC1 my book arrived today and I'm so pleased, I've had nothing to read for two weeks and have been crawling the walls. I'm really looking forward to this one too. Looks it's been opened by the customs men (wonder what they were hoping to find!)

It deffo went on Thursday LBAM - I took it down on Tuesday but my local post office doesn't know how to do international and had to wait for the post lady to give her the prices, and then they are closed on Wednesdays (this is France!).

I paid Thursday and she said it had gone that morning.

Bear in mind it is a bank holiday here today (again, this is France, bank holiday on a Saturday ) - you should have it Monday or tuesday at the latest.

Sorry for the delay, I was waiting to hear from Cariboo who has answered me on another thread that I should post to you direct this month.

She has two books though now so no reason for you not to get one on time next month.

When are we doing our chat thing again (scatty brain?)?
